That's very few. When did you start collecting? Nearly all original LEGO concept sets have at least one female.
I wouldn't call myself a "collector." Me and my brothers get LEGOs whenever we can, but we don't have a bunch of extra money to spend on them. Plus, for a couple years pretty much all we got was Chima, which is why we have so much of that.
Ah okay. Makes sense. I guess I've been collecting for about 14 years. Oh dear, that makes me feel so old. In saying that, I don't have nearly as much LEGO as some younger people. I too didn't have a lot of money to spare, it's just that every little sets adds up over time. I buy all my own sets now.

My brother and I have done the same thing. XD We have a bunch of Fire vs Ice themed stuff now.

Yikes, that's about as long as I've been alive.
I'm not old, you're just young. 14 years is nothing for a LEGO collector, but I guess it does explain why I have more female minifigures.
Figs. 1000000% figs. They're more posable, more customizable, and they're iconic. You can show just about anybody a minifigure and ask them what it is and they'll say: "Well that's a LEGO guy". If you show those same people a minidoll and ask the same question, I guarantee that far less people will know what it is.
The minifigure is blocky, like LEGO. It fits perfectly. Every piece of the figure (Legs, Torso, Head) attach to other LEGO parts perfectly. The minidolls are rounder, sleeker and some of the pieces (Like the heads and bodies) don't even attach to regular LEGO elements. Whenever I see them, I just feel like they don't belong.
