1. A New Hope Every scene is iconic, and no matter how many times I watch it, it always feels fresh and exciting.
2. Empire Strikes Back Expands on the ideas and themes from the first, but with more focus on story rather than worldbuilding in my opinion. I think of it as a more honed in version of ANH, and the finale on Cloud City is so memorable. The only reason why its lower is just because I feel that some of the scenes in between the action aren't that memorable. In ANH, each scene introduced a new facet of galaxy life, for instance shots of Luke's house, Tusken raiders, Mos eisley, while ESB just had a lot of shots of the Millenium Falcon. That's really the only con though, and it introduces the bounty hunters who are my favorite characters in Star Wars.
3. Return of the Jedi Same as above for the most part, just even fewer worlds, and I felt like some of the death star space stuff wasn't that exciting. I do love Ackbar though, and I thought the Luke and Vader stuff was very powerful. I also quite enjoyed the Jabba scenes. i hated them when I was younger, but now I find them disturbing in a very unique way without going over the top and I think it's very interesting.
4. The Last Jedi The Finn and Rose stuff is kinda eh, some scenes were cheesy, and Ackbar died so . But the Luke and Ren stuff I found to be very powerful. I always thought that Luke wasn't a true jedi, so his story made sense to me, and his ending kind of mirrors both Obi Wan's and Anakin's in my mind, which feels very well balanced and a satisfying end to his story. Rey wasn't as bad as I thought she'd be, and her relationship with Ren was very intriguing. Also the scene where the leader sacrifices herself and crashes into the star destroyer, just *chef's kiss*
5.Revenge of the Sith The story is very good, the actual film is not, but it has some cool concepts that are much better fleshed out in the Clone Wars series. Anakin versus Obi Wan is very emotional and I still stay up late at night imagining how Obi Wan felt (Also makes his death in ANH that much more powerful)
6. The Force Awakens Fresh take on classic star wars themes. Finn, Rey, and Poe aren't that interesting, but have some cool dynamics I guess. Ren being unstable I thought was very interesting, and I loved the aesthetics of The First Order base and stormtroopers.
7.Phantom Menace Qui Gon's cool, Darth Maul is really cool, and everything else is bad. If Jar Jar had turned out to be a Sith in one of the later movies like George Lucas originally intended I think the whole film would be much better recieved.
8. Attack of the Clones Anakin and Padme is bad. Jango is pretty cool though.
9. Rise of Skywalker Everything the sequels had going for them is ruined in this film. Characters don't act how they seem they would, the acting is bad, the story drags on, and most of the film seems irrelevant. I could at least sit through AOTC and PM, but it's taken me several sittings to get through this one. Only cool thing is Lando.
