So as time goes on, Disney continues to remake some of their animated classics. This started with Tim Burton's new version of Alice in Wonderland (2010), followed by Cinderella (2015), The Jungle Book (2016), Beauty and the Beast (2017); and some upcoming remakes, Mulan (2018), Aladdin (2019) and The Lion King (2019).
Here's a topic where we can discuss these new remakes. What you like and don't like, and what you're excited for in the upcoming ones. Please don't start any arguments or fights, just remember that everyone has different opinions on movies.
Personally, here's how I'd rank the remakes.
Alice in Wonderland: Five stars, though completely different from the original, it's a brand new story.
Cinderella: Four stars, was a very good movie although there were a few things I wish they would've kept the same.
The Jungle Book: Five stars, I like this one even more than the original. It's amazing. That's all I have to say.
Beauty and the Beast: Three and a half stars, it was a good movie but it was lacking so much of the feel of the original. Maybe that's just me.
Mulan: I'm excited for this one, especially the songs and some certain scenes.
Aladdin: This one will be very interesting, I can't wait to see how they do some of the scenes. ("Friend Like Me," anyone? )
The Lion King: As my favorite Disney movie, I'm extremely extremely, extremely excited for this one, and I have mixed emotions over the cast list...I just hope it'll be great.
I'll join in the chat more once or if this place gets somewhat active. Until then, discuss away!

I’ll join this if you join my TV show chat room here.
So, did you hear about the next Jungle Book Movie? Called “Jungle Book: Origins” if I remember correctly. Has the likes of Christian Bale and Buttercup Thundersnatch or whatever his name is in the cast.
The original Beauty and the Beast does have its charm and simplicity too which is most iconic, but I kinda felt like the plot and backstory of the live-action Beauty and the Beast was better than the original. The live action version expanded the story on why Beast was so selfish, why Belle has an education compared to the rest of the village and the determination to take care of her family, and also why the village was independent of the actual kingdom after the curse was casted.
Live action Cinderella was pretty fun. Just like Beauty and the Beast, the live action version expanded on Cinderella's family and story of her father, rather than just a short intro in the original. But, all things considered, the original animated Cinderella is more iconic.
But overall, the live action remakes are better than I expected them to be. It's not going to beat the original classics, but it still does a pretty faithful job of expanding the story while remaining faithful to the original.

Okay, deal.
I've heard they're making a Jungle Book sequel, although I didn't know the title. Origins? That should be interesting... Do you have any idea what it's about or when it'll be released?

My anonymous sources tell me it was just called that but now is actually just called “Jungle Book” and will be released on October 19th 2018. Based on the book and not the film. Stars:

I don't really enjoy the remakes as much, but they aren't terrible.
There was also Pete's Dragon, which is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
The new one or the old one? I’ve seen neither, but I saw “Everything Wrong with Pete’s Dragon (1977)” and it looked absolutely horrible. The second one has a good Rotten Tomatoes score, so it seems like a good movie.

This is the live-action thread, so the new one. RT LIES IT WAS A BUNCH OF DRAMA WITH NO PURPOSE

Yes, that too. You didn't like it? I personally really enjoyed it.
We were just frustrating it was a bunch of tears, depression, and drama with nothing to enjoy while watching, but our family doesn't really like drama.

I like drama. I’m working on a few drama “ideas” that I can adapt to film when I become a famous director.

I haven't seen the original, but the EWW series has a way of making stupid observations that have nothing to do with the actual quality of the film and pretending they hate every movie ever and making all of them look like the worst thing ever to grace the silver screen even if they're actually really good.
