Other weapons are not effective against them. They just aren't. Unless a projectile or weapon is powered by Fire Chi, it will take a long time to break through one of the walls the Ice Hunters raise to shield their advancing armies. Of course, using regular Chi will allow you to break free of ice blocks, so that you can stand a chance, but magic fire is the only quick way to break through magic ice.
So... the Ice Hunters are OP?
I thought we were trying to preserve balance...
And it's not like a wall of ice is going to stop anti-tank weaponry of most types.
Good point, but the question I'm posing is: if the inland tribes can already fight the Ice Hunters, why would they need fire chi in the first place? It doesn't really make sense for the inland tribes to go to all the trouble of: •Traveling to Mount Cavora •Getting into the Phoenix temple •Passing a pretty hard trial to earn fire chi ...when they can already effectively fight the ice Hunters? I'm not saying I want a scripted RP, but it simply doesn't make sense. How about only the characters who won't use fire chi have normal weapons that can fight the ice hunters?
I think a good compromise is that the Ice Hunters are resistant to most other types of damage, but extremely weak to Fire Chi. This means that you can still destroy them with conventional weapons, it’d just be a lot harder.
Good idea, but you mean defeat them, right? I want the hunters to survive and be redeemed.

Thermal Energy. Ahem...Thermal energy is the internal energy of an object due to the kinetic energy of its atoms and/or molecules. The atoms and/or molecules of a hotter object have greater kinetic energy than those of a colder one, in the form of vibrational, rotational, or, in the case of a gas, translational motion.
All we need is hot air to defeat the ice hunters or anything super-heated to a degree here.
The Magic Side and the Science Side of the community have armed themselves. Begun, the Fanon Wars have.
I'm okay with Fire Chi being especially effective against Ice Hunters, but I'm not fine with other weapons being very hard to use against them.

No. Just no to all of that. That's too way too restricting, and plain stupid. Stop trying to make this place follow the same plot contrivances as the show, because it will not work for this RP. This scripted garbage doesn't have a place here unless every active user agrees to go through with it, and it doesn't look like that's the case.

The plan is to make the Ice Hunters stupid OP, with their only weakness being a mcguffin. Woe to any who don't play as Ice Hunters or Fire Tribes.
I despise everything about this plan, in case it isn't obvious.

Yes, they are. They're supposed to be.
Fire Chi exists to preserve the balance. The point of the arc is that the Inland Tribes have no way of defeating the Ice Hunters, so they have to use Fire Chi.

So you effectively saying that, we should be screwed over without the use of fire chi? I want us to at least put up a good Resistance here.

Although Alchemy belongs in both categories, Science trumps magic, end of story.

So I have been instructed to bring an incredibly simple device here for some bizarre reason.
Anyway, this device is simply a large coil of wire containing a spinning magnet spun by the force of a waterfall via a waterwheel. Some of you may recognize this simple device as an electric generator. If you still think it's too complicated, I could go build one right now, without leaving my house.
My character blames chi for the death of his brother and his crippled state, and as such refuses to use chi, even to power his cybernetic enhancements. I want this device so that he can have a reliable source of power that is not chi so he can stay alive. In his backstory, he has been researching lightning and creating it artificially for years, making it likely for him to have finally come up with a working design.
Not to mention with all the advanced technology the chimans already have I find it incredibly surprising that they don't already have numerous other ways of producing power.
Basically, a simple electric generator, simply to be an alternate power source.
And it's not like a wall of ice is going to stop anti-tank weaponry of most types.

There's no way that would work in an RP context. It works in the context of the series because the writers can easily say "the tribes survived and ran away". You can't in an RP as the Ice Tribe players will just hunt everyone else down.
I personally agree with Omega Tahu here. It's more sustainable RP wise if the tribes can fight the Ice Tribes but not outright defeat them. That means they can hold their own but they can't win outright until they get the Fire Chi.

The arc is pointless and shouldn't exist.
I don't mind the arc, just the way it's being handled.

So, here's a few mechs I wanted to pass through the FAC. I don't have much time, so i'll post this one now and post the rest later:
Name:Blastzone 1. Appearance:Bipedal walker with a large central body and an enclosed central cockpit on the front. Weapons:Long Range Chi cannon that can destroy things from extremely far away. However, it's extremely inaccurate, needs a clear shot, and takes a while to charge. Gun that fires Chi energy at an extremely fast rate, medium range laser beam. Weaknesses:The walker has trouble dealing with things up close, so it needs infantry support to guard it. Other:I'm happy to limit the number of this walker to 1 if need be.

Through a series of illogically, and sadly misinformed persons I have been dictated that I need to submit such a simple item into the knowing and guiding hand of the Fac.
Now, if you would be so kind as to read the following notes as to why my poorly knowledgable prosecutors are misinformed in their beliefs of the "controversial" bullet.
As is common knowledge and sense, bullets are composed of gunpowder and metal both of which exist freely in the land of Chima as proven by the television show.
Chi is a not a resource that everyone has, anyone who isn't part of a tribe would have to purchase it. Therefore it is highly logical that some clever beast would think to create the beloved bullets, considering the existence of fireworks and flares would it not?
Bullets can be hand made and predate running water and electricity. This means that they aren't advanced in the slightest, and should be exempt from your duties within this topic.
Me and my colleagues (More on that later) find the fact that you find it within yourselves to hamper the use of bullets, but don't feel any at Gundam mechs and magic ridiculous and biased and this grieves us much.
I feel that I must also remind the members of the community of the Chimain Eagle who was able to make anything into a highly dangerous projectile thus furthering the case of the bullet.
Now frankly, I wouldn't have submitted such a simple and generic item had it not been for efforts of the community, based on fallacy based logic, to do so. I'm very sorry to bother the acting RP Rep, Shamrock, with such a trivial item as I am aware that the job he already has is very stressful and taxing at this particular moment in time, and it pains me to have to demand his time in such a fashion and for that I sincerely apologize.
Now please pardon me if I'm coming off a bit fresh. I have dropped the jovial nature of my standard posts to convey a sense of a serious nature. This is not an act of disrespect but an act of the sincere respect to all of you. I am fully aware that the most esteemed members of the Fac will see that this is nothing but a simple misunderstanding and that the less fortunate characters in our highly accomplished RP will be able to have the life saving bullet thanks to the Fac's efforts
I thank you all very much for your time and await your quite logical agreement with me and my associates. As I am not the only member bereaved by this unfortunate misunderstanding (as mentioned earlier). Nick, Vestak, thelegoroleplayer, and VortaxxFan among other members have convened with me on this matter, and they also agree that this all but a grievous misunderstanding that has come about by lack of information and knowledge. I think this is most likely to be blamed on the fact that a good dictionary for Chima Lore has not yet come into being. As a result I would like to nominate the highly esteemed member of this communities' Fac, with help from the community itself of course, to create one in whatever form is satisfactory. Let such mistakes be far in few between I say! Why have these pointless squabbles when instead we can focus on weaving together the intricacies of this fantastical world together. Let us not be enemies! Nay, I say but comrades creating a marvelous tapestry of a story intwined with our unique backgrounds. Once again I must thank the highly accomplished members of the Fac for standing by us in this controversial matter. I salute your volunteered unpaid service to this community.
