I guess I made a good point since no one argued with it... yet.
Hm, that's weird. I know I responded to this. Must be stuck in moderation or something.
Anyway, here's what I said:
Luke never guided the missiles with the Force. He used the Force to help him AIM them accurately with Kenobi's guidance. And, it took Luke almost FOREVER to grab the lightsaber when it took Rey two seconds. He had still had some Force training with Kenobi, so he knew what his ultimate goal. When Rey mind tricked the Storm trooper, she had never even heard of a "mind trick" before. At least I don't remember her ever hearing about it.
Either way (though there isn't much difference), he used the Force to help blow up the Death Star with really no training. It took them both about the same amount to pick up the saber of time, if I remember right. Luke was quite injured at that point, though, Rey wasn't very injured, and more focused because of that. She never heard about mind tricks during the movie, but it is quite obvious she has heard about them before, because she attempts one, and eventually succeeds. Probably heard about it from wherever she heard about Luke Skywalker.
Ignore everything I say, to the best of your ability.
That isn't what ended up happening, so it doesn't prove anything. How is it a spoof if it happened in the movie? And Star Wars is still made to appeal to kids, may I remind you.
How exactly does seeing characters that aren't white straight males detract from your enjoyment of the movie? If anything, it makes me enjoy it more to see different looking people get recognition. Even if it was entirely to be politically correct, this is the Star Wars universe, where different ethnicities and genders can be more or less common, because this isn't real life.
Yeah, I was just saying it wasn't a realistic thing either. SW is normally pretty good about keeping things semi believable. That's what makes it great. The Ewok thing was an exception though.
Did I ever say that seeing other characters that are white straight males detract from my enjoyment of the movie? I too enjoy different people getting recognition... if they actually earn it. Rey did not. My other post explains that clearly.
The SW is supposed to be separate from this world. Not conveying it's perverted agenda. If Rey had been believable, I would have NO problem with her whatsoever.
This honestly has nothing to do with politics at all. Stormtroopers have died in stupid ways numerous times in different Star Wars media. Jyn isn't unrealistic, the Stormtroopers are.
See my other posts for explanations.
Again, see my other posts.

Regarding your first post Luke was slowly being mentored by a Jedi MASTER himself. He was also the "Chosen one" as implied by the prequels. Remember, the prequels were made to answer people's questions about these thing. It makes better sense to me than someone who's had zero Jedi/Force training other than from a bunch of "non" Jedi characters. Then, before Luke could defeat any Siths, or even battle them, he trained with Yoda himself the Grand Jedi Master (and he has trained Jedi for hundreds of years!!!) Luke lost his hand in an encounter with a sith which showed he hadn't completely mastered the art of the Jedi.
One more thing, Luke was only able to blow up the death star with Obi-Wan's guidance.
I think Luke "aimed" the missiles. He didn't "guide" them.
Anakin was the Chosen One, Luke just inherited his incredible powers. And Rey is almost certainly descended from a powerful Force-user as well.
... and Rey had Maz Kanata's guidance, and she also heard Yoda and Obi-Wan's spirits in her vision.
Aimed, guided, same difference! The point is he did something incredible with the Force with no training, just like Rey!

Just one problem with that... Luke had very real explanations for his power and technically Kylo is a descendent of Leah which is the daughter of Anakin so shouldn't Kylo be extremely powerful just like Luke. Maybe a little less but then Rey would be in the exact same position because they are the same age/time era. I agree about what you said with him being hurt. That would make him weaker. But he still is a trained light saber/force user. I don't agree that because she's a scavenger that makes her stronger. Yes she is physically fit but not stronger, since Kylo would obviously have to work out to fight the way he does. Don't get me wrong I liked the movie. I guess I just wanted Fin to be the Jedi cause he looked so awesome with that light saber. I thought that Fins version of handling the saber was a bit more realistic. It would have been so great to see Luke come in and save them I guess that's what I was looking for. And as for the melee weapons thing she fought with a stick, which has weight Light sabers have very little weight which means she would have to get used to the fact that it was light and that it was like a sword instead of a stick.
Oh and can somebody please explain Disney's love for three letter names pleeeaase: Poe, Fin, Rey, Jyn, Kylo... Oh wait that ones four letters.
I was an avid reader on the MBs and not a user. You will not recognize me but I will recognize you...

We still don't know who Rey's parents are, but I'm guessing she descended from some powerful Force-user, which gives her naturally decent Force-powers. And considering Finn, a non-Force-user, held his own against Kylo for quite a bit, I think it's safe to say that Kylo's physical and emotional pain were too much for his concentration, which explains how Rey could beat him. And lightsabers actually are pretty darn heavy for their size, I'm not sure where you heard they were light.
Finn has 4 letters. And you're forgetting, Kylo's real name is Ben, so he has 3 letters too.

Um... lightsaber blades are weightless. That is what makes it hard for those unfamiliar with lightsabers to wield them. Don't know where Dr. Matthews heard it, but I learned about it in the book called, "Mysteries of the Jedi."
I think you're right about Kylo and you've helped me see how Rey could have feasibly won that fight. So... good job.
When Kylo faced Finn, he was mostly teasing him, as most Sith villains do. Vader could easily have taken Luke in their first battle, but he loved his son and he was taunting him.

Woo!
I agree, he was probablyat least partially taunting Finn, but towards the end he was definitely angry at him for bettaying the First Order.

I don't know if other SW fans feel the same but I always cringe whenever I see Disney's logo plastered on a SW Lego set, movie, or other product. Of all companies to get SW!! Yes, though I don't mind it in the animations as it seems more fitting. The only reason I don't like Disney is due to the destruction of EU and the way they steal characters and moments from the EU without recognising it. <- That is annoying. Just give the original EU writers credit for the awesome character that you, Disney did not create.
The female leads is a non issue. One which is not only good for the franchise (female fans = money), but the whole viewership. Both females are fine. Jyn more so, as Rey, like Luke and a bunch of other characters are overtly powerful IMO. Padme was a good female character, the precursor of Jyn. While Leia was a bit meh, more your typical damsel in distress, always needing rescue. She's very Disney... Ironically.

It makes sense that they'd be a lot of female rebels. Women and other species were oppressed by the Empire. There were few female and even fewer non-human Imperials. Of course they'd join the Rebellion. It's good that the new stuff is reflecting that.

Exactly, Rey is more mentally and emotionally stable. Anakin was more powerful than Obi, but he was rash and emotional. You could say the same for Kylo. You'd feel pretty pumped if you just discovered you had force powers. Rey had the upper hand in that battle. She had Finn and herself to fight for. Contrary, Kylo had nothing, the person he once was had previously passed on. Additionally, orthodox people find it difficult to do battle with unorthodox people as they are often very unpredictable and unexpected. You'll often see this in sport. An example for those in the USA would Shawn Marion. Not sure who he is, but apparently he's one of the top basketball players in the USA. There you go.
A. If Disney hadn't acquired Star Wars, we wouldn't be getting any new Star Wars movies at all. And The Force Awakens and Rogue One were both quite good, certainly better than the prequels.
B. Who cares what gender the main character is? It wouldn't effect the main story at all if Rey or Jyn was a boy. Also, Gareth Edwards or someone stated that it was a complete coincidence (though it shouldn't matter at all) that Rey and Jyn were both female, as the two movies were brainstormed for seperately.
So yeah.
I like Rey & Jyn (Jyn a bit more as Felicty can act better) but hopefully they dont overdo the whole gender thing by saying have women as the main characters consistently for the next several SW standalones.
Hardy har har. Still, Rey is totally not believable. Jyn isn't believable by how she could whip Stormtroopers in hand to hand combat, whilst they are in full armor, with a stick. The blind guy's stick fight scene was semi-believable because he was DELIBERATELY attempting to harness the Force.
I give up.
I agree about how its silly that stormtroopers who wear helmets+ tough armour get knocked out so easily my a punch or stick but its all just for fun an cinematic effect. Also notice that Chirrut aimed for the soft fabric spots to immbolise some of his enemies betwen the armour.

I dislike those people especially on youtube who say Rey could be Obi Wan and Duchess Satines daughter which would make Rey ancient. Its ludicrous an those amature fans who think they know it all just make those halfwit videos for views with out any reasoning or explanation.

You know... you said almost exactly what I was trying to get across. I don't like Disney's "money focus." They purchased a legendary franchise, and all they want to do is pander to the current culture instead of stay true to the SW timeline and canon. That really annoys me.
