I don't know if other SW fans feel the same but I always cringe whenever I see Disney's logo plastered on a SW Lego set, movie, or other product. Of all companies to get SW!! Why couldn't Marvel have taken it? The two SW movies Disney has produced so far have both been almost COMPLETELY centered on a female character (in order to be PC). That was something George Lucas was never afraid to do (not worry about being PC). Not that female characters are bad. I just feel that Disney is trying to push a political point or something. Don't get me wrong. The last 40 minutes of Rogue One was EPIC, especially Darth Vader's final scene but I don't think Disney deserves SW. If you have similar feelings or opposite ones, feel free to share, oppose, and argue about it here.

Marvel getting SW would not help... Disney owns marvel... XD

What? I didn't know that! Where did you hear that?

... i thought it was a well known fact. obviously i was wrong since you dont know it. Well you do know that marvel sold x-men and spiderman to Sony because they were going out of business right? well it didn't work for long because they were still going out of business and Disney offered them a lot of money for the company. So Disney bought marvel. i think that was a while ago... certainly wasn't anytime recently...
Well this is news. EVEN WORSE! So far, the Marvel movies haven't been too bad, though. I still think SW should be in the hands of a different organization.
And so should Marvel! But at least Fisney hasn't started slapping their logo all over it.

I feel the same about the female characters. Not that they were bad characters, and not that movies shouldn't ever have female leads, I just feel like that is probably why Disney made both movies have female leads. I'm totally ok with it, I'm just not ok with the reason it most likely happened.
But all in all, I feel like Disney has been doing a good job making the new Star Wars movies and I hope they CONtinue to make good SW movies in the future. It seems like they're planning to milk it as much as they can, but so far none of their SW movies have been terrible so I'm not gonna judge them too harshly for that yet.
And about the Disney logo, they actually are purposely not putting the Disney logo at the beginnings of the movies so they maintain that Star-Wars-y feeling and don't start feeling too Disney-ish.

I don't really care. Mickey Mouse hasn't showed up with a lightsaber as of yet, so it's fine. I do think that Disney is only doing it to be politically correct, though. Leia beats Rey and Jyn by a long shot and the biggest reason is that she doesn't dominate everything like Rey and Jyn do, especially Rey.
I just noticed that z-whales used a Con pun when Con isn't even here. I'm going to tell him.

A. If Disney hadn't acquired Star Wars, we wouldn't be getting any new Star Wars movies at all. And The Force Awakens and Rogue One were both quite good, certainly better than the prequels.
B. Who cares what gender the main character is? It wouldn't effect the main story at all if Rey or Jyn was a boy. Also, Gareth Edwards or someone stated that it was a complete coincidence (though it shouldn't matter at all) that Rey and Jyn were both female, as the two movies were brainstormed for seperately.
So yeah.
Ignore everything I say, to the best of your ability.
Rey is not an attempt on Disney's part to appeal to a specific (and small) demographic. She's a believable character, not excessively strong or weak.
I didn't think she was believable at all. 0 training and she is already mind tricking a stormtrooper and summoning lightsabers. It took Luke a LONG time before he could ever summon anything with the Force. She just gets Force powrs willy nilly. How is that believable?
Disney has been ok with Star Wars but it is annoying seeing Disney on everything. Also, Marvel is owned by Disney like everyone said. They bought it back in 2012 I think.
