Moria shall stand with it's Allies. (Or else leech from it's allies as it fights the War of Osgiliath at the High Pass. I mean, It's inevitable because their are two Sub-HQ's that are quite close, and Goblin Town has 2 openings: The Carrock (should be the normal region, not the HQ) and the High Pass. )
So. . . Who's ready to fight an Unending battle in two locations? Isengard will help (most likely, I'll send a small-to-large contingent up to assist) plus we'll have Moria/Goblin Town, so we just need around 10,000 More to win each time.
On another note, How many Isengard and Wild Men Troops am I getting? CC?
Might I suggest that we add another region to hold the valleys beneath the MMs? The Carrock was quite a way away; it was several hours on the eagles, and they fly far faster than creatures of the ground travel. It doesn't seem right that the Carrock region should directly border Goblin Town.
MM, we will NOT be starting with any regions claimed! This is an RP reset, you need to understand that.
I know. My point is that I plan to have my HQ's own them (and fight for them and claim them) so I feel like I may as well post them. I'll be working in those regions a lot, so I post them, same as I did for the Fourth Age RP.
Good luck with that. You will have to fight both me and rex, both good generals who capured empires in the old RP. Your going to be fighting against three sub-HQs and at least one full HQ.
OK, after watching some YouTube videos, rewatching the movies, and spending about an hour putting this together in my mind, I think I am ready to talk about this subject, hopefully for the last time. (sorry for the ginormous post this is and the later ones that will happen in advance Mods.)
About the Armor of Trolls:
OK, so the First point is Troll Skin. All of this will either be IRL information, or from the movies, as the book does not state anything about this subject. Now, let's look at the two big parts of the Trolls in the movies, Cave Trolls and Mordor Trolls. So, Cave Trolls, Against Axes, Swords and Arrows. Axes worked just fine for their size, and swords made decent sized cuts as well. However, Arrows and the Javelin both had a bit of a problem. The Arrows were barely even noticed, except for the ones shot from the head, and the one shot into the one place without skin, the mouth. The Head was not effective, it merely hurt. While this did hurt, it really just made the troll mad. Javelins were similar, although it wasn't really meant for throwing, the one that Aragorn threw. He did it, but it was too long for a proper spear, and it failed to peirce much further than the arrows. It did something similar to the arrows at the top of the head, and that it it. For the Mordorian trolls, we see them taking dozens of arrows in the neck, armits and essentially anywhere where their armor isn't their (this will come into play later) and still surviving. We did see one troll fall by arrows, but it was one out of a dozen or so. Now, lets go inside. Mordor Trolls DID fall by the javelins and spears used by the gondorians, implying that they are weaker than the Cave Troll. So, my first point is that their is Canon evidence that troll skin is immune to being smashed by arrows.
Second Point, is Armor. this gets more into IRL information, which came from the YouTube Videos. First off, plate armor (the majority of a Heavily Armored Trolls armor) is, IRL, almost impossible to get almost anything through. A Troll would have a much larger plate, and so would be immune. Now, their is still the Neck, and the Armpits and so forth. However, IRL, chain mail and leather/cloth was protecting these locations. And considering how the Leather/Cloth layer could often stop a sharp sword blade, it is essentially even easier to say that. Oh and this point is not mute because of Canon showing trolls without proper armor, because that Movies give HUMANS improper armor, so what do you think they'll do to a non-human character with armor?
Now, I understand that their is a need for Weaknesses of trolls. Which why I understand that Lances, Javelins and Siege Weapons all need to be able to smash a troll. However, I used the examples of Javelins failing to hopefully, FINALLY get people to admit that arrows would not destroy my Heavily Armored Trolls. And that thrown Javelins are not the best weapon against them, because they are projectiles and as such will not have a force pushing it past the skin.
Thank you for your time, I've been annoyed at this ever since. . . Anorien was about the first time I used the Trolls actually. So Anorien. Had them all the time, but Anorien was the only time they caused problems or were even used mostly.
I agree. In the FOTR, Leggolas must have hit the cave troll (which was unarmoured) with over a dozen arrows (and he's Legolas; he's one of the best archer in ME) and it didn't smash it. Arrows can smash a troll, but it's hard. I mean, if an entire detatchment of elves fire several volleys at it, it's likely to go down. But a handful of humans would probably be smashed, because they have inferior weapons, armour and reflexes.
Are we OK with The Carrock being the beornings HQ, and the region being The Upper Vales of the Anduin?
I don't care as long as I don't have to pass through the Beornings HQ to get out that side of the High Pass. That's my big deal.
Gandalf said in the Hobbit that the Carrock, wher ethe eagles dropped them off, was miles north of his intended route. So we need to make it so that one can get all the way to Greenwood the Great without having to come close to the Beorning HQ.

Though we don't know where Gandalf was intending to go. He may have been meaning to go to Dol Guldur.

It's stated in the Hobbit that he meant to take the Old Forest Road. Aside from that, he warned the dwarves never to go anywhere near Dol Guldor. He wouldn't have taken them there. And there's no point traveling at least half the length of the Greenwood when there's a road in front of you.

I was also watching the movies on YT last night. And in the BOFA, when Thorin and the dwarves charge, there is Trolls. Which are smashed before the dwarves reach them. Only explanation, crossbows and bows, or maybe javelins. The trolls just melt under the missile fire. This PROVES how weak trolls are to missiles.
Maybe from Gundabad, but considering how it's not only 2-1 on whether or not they are weak, and the fact that the trolls come from different places, AND the fact of the armor. . .

You will have to claim it, and trust me I've got the same concerns. I'm leading Moria, and I'm closer to Rivendell (Bree's Sub HQ) and we're equal distances away from the High Pass and my Sub-HQ of Goblin Town. If push comes to shove, I'm probably going to trade Rivendell for the Goblin HQ, and then push my way out. I'm 2ic of Isengard in this RP, and I believe EmeraldEddie is 3ic (might not be him, but their already is one.)
Wrong, You start with the Sub-HQ.
Really? AWESOME! That is much better than having to fight over Goblin Town.

What do you mean? None of the Sub HQ's are automatically claimed as far as I know.
That's something that we never actually discussed. Seeing as how each sub-HQ is tied to a specific HQ, I was under the impression that they would start under the control of the parent-HQ. Canonically, the natural state of each one of these realms is (more or less) with its allegiance to the realm which is its parent-HQ. Then seeing as how each of these subs are in effect their own HQs (just under the control of a larger HQ), in seems odd that they might start out essentially inactive.
k. sounds good. I misunderstood, other people have said this, and the reasons are sound. awesome.

But also (to everyone), can we all try to make these topics fit a certain format for the first post? I mean, it's not really that big of an issue, but it drives me nuts to see the first post of a topic (especially the topic name itself) be poorly done. Especially seeing HQ names be misspelled, lacking capitalization and punctuation, and sometimes even lacking where the HQ is. And I think it would be useful to have the start of each topic be more or less the same, having basic information such as bordering regions, its sub-HQ, etc.
Sure. How about this:
Place:People HQ
borders: Geography: Anything else of importance:
The underlined is not exact, and specifics are omitted from the non-underlined parts. What do you think?

Canonically, maybe not. However, it's been one of my units for at least a year, so. . .
So now who is stretching canon?
When has my arguments for anything been purely canonical? Also, this kind of canon is a lot less of canon, and more of no information on the subject. And as I said, this IS the first time I've stretched canon myself. (the tanks are canonically stretched by Kitkat, and I've taken advantage of his stretch to make my own units)

Is that really neccessary? If you feel it is, then sure, give me another 500 MWE to roam the earth. It'll never get taken over because no-one can find it, and also I'm pretty sure that they surfaced in a part of the Carrock, and it was several Hours on Eagle to somewhere near men. Men were fairly far into the Carrock is essentially what I read, if not only in the Wilderlands and the Vales of Anduin.
