"Finally," he muttered to himself, "Now I can get some sleep." His shift was over, and he hadn't noticed any sign of Skullkin. At least not until he turned around to see one pointing a crossbow at his throat.
"Well hello there," it said. Of course, it was not alone. There were a few hundred others surrounding camp. Perhaps Jay had not been as attentive as he'd hoped. ***
It had been two hours since Jay, Cole and Zane were captured. Their wrists were bound, and they were being watched by two skeletons with short swords.
"Where are Sensei and Kai?" Cole whispered.
"I don't know, I was on watch duty on the hill," Jay replied.
"And what a great job you did."
"Um... Brothers? I think we have bigger problems." Samukai was walking towards them, followed by two uniformed Skullkin carrying spears.
"Samukai's royal guard," Cole said in awe.
"Alright, rats," the Skullkin warlord shot, "We're bringing you to the underworld, along with your... Cargo."
That was when they noticed he was carrying three of the golden weapons.
"Aw, fudge," Jay whispered.
***
Cole was tied to the back of a skull bike. The skeleton army was on the move, heading towards the underworld. Jay and Zane were tied to different bikes in a similar fashion; thankfully, there was a good bit of distance between the bikes and the rest of the fleet. Luckily, Cole had managed to hide his pocketknife from the skeletons. After a bit of fumbling, he managed to cut his ropes free. He climbed to the front of the vehicle, making sure nobody noticed him. Quickly and silently, he shoved the driver out of the vehicle, and took control. Before the driver fell, Cole managed to take his sword. He drove up right next to the other bikes, and cut his friends free; they took control of their vehicles in a similar fashion.
"Here's the plan," Cole shouted, loud enough to overcome the hum of their bikes, but not heard by the rest of the fleet, "We act casual, make sure nobody notices us. Then we drive up to the skull truck and take Samukai hostage. We make him order his troops to stand down, then we take back the weapons and find the others." Jay and Zane nodded and drove off.
"Your skills are impressive," said Garmadon, "But they are nothing compared to mine." The shadow glided towards Kai, kicking him back into a wall. Kai got up and swung at the shadow's neck, but nothing happened.
"Fool," Garmadon snorted, "I can hurt you, but you cannot hurt me." he punched Kai in the gut, knocking him over.
"Hey! That's not fair!" Nya protested.
"I don't think he cares about that, Nya," Kai shot back. Suddenly, another shadow came, sending Garmadon stumbling back. The shadow was cast by none other than Sensei Wu.
"Gah!" Lord Garmadon shouted, taken off guard, "Pathetic fool. As we speak, your other three ninjas are captured, at my mercy, and the weapons in Samukai's possession."
"Well then," Sensei said, "I will just have to take the sword into the place you least expect. Kai! Hand me the sword!" Confused, Kai did as he was told.
"What?" Garmadon asked, realizing what he meant, "No!"
"Sensei, where are you going?" Kai asked.
Sensei Wu turned to him. "Find the others," he said, "Keep them safe."
Then, he leapt from the stone platform, descending into the lava pit. In an instant, he had vanished, as if simply clipping out of reality. "No!" Kai and Garmadon shouted at the same time, obviously for different reasons.
"I'll be back, ninja," Garmadon spat, slowly fading away.
"Sensei!" Kai cried.
That's when the creature rose from the lava. It was like the dragon they found in the caves, and the other two they escaped retrieving the nunchaku and shurikens.
"I think we have bigger problems," Nya pointed out.
"Go Faster!" Samukai commanded his driver, "Garmadon will have our heads if we're late!"
"Driver? Answer me!"
"Greetings," said Zane. He was driving the truck.
Samukai gaped, then noticed somebody was holding a knife to his throat.
"Give us the weapons and command your army to stand down," Cole ordered. Samukai didn't. Instead, he laughed.
And not like a Mwahaha-I-will-rule-the-world laugh, he actually sounded amused.
"I really get a kick out of humans," he chuckled. The Skeleton king pulled the knife from Cole's hand and threw him off the truck. Cole grabbed onto a metal rod before he hit the ground.
"Um... Jay? A little help?" he called out to a motorbike.
"Wait, I'm trying to think of something cool to say," replied the blue ninja, who happened to be manning the bike. "JAY!!"
"Fine, and he says I'M always in a rush," Jay muttered. He grabbed Cole's hand and pulled him onto the bike. By then, the Skullkin had noticed them and would be firing, but Samukai's truck was so close...
Together, they leapt onto the Skull truck. That was when Samukai's royal guard appeared.
"Where did THEY come from?" Jay asked.
"Think we can take them?" Cole question.
"Not really."
"Well that was reassuring."
Jay took the one on the left, Cole fought the one on the right, while Zane drove away from the path to the underworld.
"No! That's it," Samukai growled, climbing towards him.
Jay unsheathed a dagger from his belt.
"Man, I wish I had my nunchucks right now," he said nervously. He swung at the skeletons repeatedly, who blocked it with a spear each time. Eventually, one knocked the dagger from Jay's grasp.
"Aw, fudge," Jay said. The skeleton lunged forward with his spear, but Jay ducked and kicked upwards, splintering the spear and knocking the enemy off the truck.
Meanwhile, Cole swung his dagger as well, and managed to decapitate his adversary.
"Ha! We did it!" Jay cried, "Now to get the weapons."
"Not on my watch!" Samukai hollered.
"What, that's the fearsome battle cry?" Jay asked.
Samukai grabbed Jay by the throat with uncanny strength and threw him at Zane.
Zane lost control of the steering wheel and fell off the truck.
"Zane!" Jay cried. Samukai kicked him in the stomach, sending him tumbling off the road.
Cole grabbed one of the skeleton's spears and hurled it at Samukai. The Skullkin king simply plucked it out of the air.
"And I thought you might be able to scratch me," Samukai laughed. He rammed into Cole, who was knocked off the vehicle. He got up to his feet and fled into the forest. He knew the Skullkin would run after him, so he ran as quickly as possible, and kept doing so until he was sure they were gone.
Cole breathed a sigh of relief.
"Jay!" he called, "Zane! Where are you?"
"Over here, my brother," a voice called out to him. Cole ran towards it, and there was Zane, Jay standing next to him.
"Wow, that guy was far tougher than I ever imagined!" Cole exclaimed, "If I had my scythe-"
"We'd still lose," Jay Cut him off, "Think about it. We've still got months, heck, even YEARS of training ahead of us. We weren't ready for this. Now let's go find Kai." Cole nodded in agreement. As frustrated as he was with Jay giving up so easily, he had a point. They had failed. Failed Sensei, failed themeselves, failed Ninjago. They moodily walked back to their camping site. They couldn't find any trace of their Sensei or Kai, so they checked the fire temple.
"Kai! Sensei!" Cole shouted.
Zane paused. "The sword of fire was here," he said, "As well as our friends, but the golden weapons are lost now. They are in the Underworld, we are too late."
"Oh great, the Underworld," Cole said gloomily, "One of the places no mortal can cross over."
"We may not be able to cross over," a voice said as the gate to the temple slid open, causing Cole to stumble back, "But a dragon can."
It was Kai, evidently riding one of the aforementioned beasts.
The second he heard the word "Dragon," Cole yelped and jumped behind a column.
Kai was on top of the fire dragon, along with Nya.
"Kai! How did you-" Jay was cut off by Kai.
"I'll tell you later. Sensei's in the underworld, along with the sword of fire. If the Skullkin find him, it's all over."
"But what of our weapons? You still has yours, but the Skullkin took ours," Zane interjected. "We should be able to steal some from the Underworld," Kai answered.
"Wait, is that a Dracus ignis?" Jay asked.
"A what?" Nya responded quizically. "A fire dragon, they're supposed to be extinct!"
"Well, so were the other three dragons. Apparently that doesn't mean anything"
"Good point... Hey, by the way, what's your favorite color?" Jay asked Nya.
"Blue. Why?"
"Just asking..."
"Oh, sorry guys, it looks like there's not room for all of us on that Ignis thingy. I'll just stay here and, uh, buy you ice cream cones for when you return..." Cole suggested hopefully.
"I don't think that will be a problem," Kai said, grinning. The three other dragons descended from the sky, perching on the ceiling over Kai. This time Cole almost fainted.
"So, this is goodbye, isn't it?" Nya said sadly.
"Yeah... Watch over the shop for me when I'm gone!"
"I will, don't worry."
"Incredible! Not only do I get to see one of the largest airborne creatures on the planet, but I get to ride one!" Jay shouted. The four were soaring over the vast ocean on their elemental dragons.
"Yeah, the thrill of a lifetime," Cole said sarcastically, clinging to the Earth dragon for dear life. "Do you guys know where these dragons are taking us?" Kai asked.
"The most logical answer would be the sea of the undead," Zane pointed out. As if on cue, the dragons dove straight into the water. The four lost their footing for a bit, but managed to hang on. Cole gazed upon the piles of bones and let out a whimper. At the bottom of the sea, they found a black portal, and the dragons dove inside.

2011 movie part XVI:
The skeletons gaped at them. The four ninja and their dragons had just arrived at the Underworld, near a Skullkin outpost.
"Well that went well," said Kai sarcastically. After catching their bearings, the Skullkin readied their weapons. The archers fired at the dragons, but the arrows simply bounced of their scales. Jay leaped off of Wisp (his name for the lightning dragon) and kicked two warriors down before he landed. Kai, Cole and Zane leapt off in a similar fashion. Kai grabbed a katana from a soldier and beheaded him. Zane took another's shurikens as he fell after a series of rapid blows to the head. Jay snatched a skeleton's nunchaku and kicked him off the cliff. Cole took ones scythe and chopped down three with a single move. The archers fired, but their arrows bounced off their Spinjitzu, and they were incinerated/vaporized/frozen/torn to pieces/some combination of the four.
"Well," Kai said happily, "I don't think our lack of weapons will be a problem anymore."
"We'll leave the scary lizard things here to guard the portal, while we'll go stop Garmadon and rescue Sensei," Cole ordered, "Let's see if we can't slip into Samukai's fortress undetected."
Kai cracked his knuckles.
"This is gonna be fun," he said.
***
"There's so many Skullkin down there," Jay pointed out, afraid and amazed at the same time.
"They outnumber us twenty to one," Zane calculated.
"Twenty to one?" Kai asked, "Well that's not very fair. I mean, come on, it's only twenty." The four were sneaking through a rocky area to the right of the fortress. Luckily, there were no Skullkin within ten yards of them, and even if they were, there were plenty of boulders to sneak behind. Eventually, they came to the back of the fortress.

2011 movie part XVII:
There was no door at the back of the fortress, but there was a stairway. The four crept up, and found themselves on the rooftop. There was nothing of importance, other than two catapults over the front of the building, each guarded by a sole skeleton. Cole crept up behind them and swiftly chopped each of them down with a swing of his weapon. Then he motioned to the others to come to him.
"Alright," he whispered, "The only way in is the front, but it's guarded. Here's the-"
"Don't worry, I already know the plan," Kai cut him off. He jumped off the building and landed square on his feet. The Skullkin were taken completely off guard.
"Or we could do that," said Jay. They jumped off similarly. All four of them burst into elemental tornadoes at once, taking down countless skeletons.
"This is gonna be too easy!" Cole gloated. That was when ten giant spiders descended from the cave ceiling.
"Scratch that."
"I have an idea!" said Cole, "Everybody, activate your Spinjitzu at the same time!"
"Okay..." said Kai uncertainly. The four burst into elemental tornadoes at once. The second their Spinjitzu collided, they merged into one single whirling storm that swept across the Skullkin armies, either destroying them or sending them flying, onto the ground or into the dark pits. Eventually the gargantuan tornado subsided, leaving the four ninja dazed but unharmed.
"Well that worked," observed Zane. Suddenly, they heard the sound of clinking metal, getting closer by the second.
"Be ready for anything," Cole ordered. The four drew their weapons.
They weren't ready at all as a giant robotic spider crawled from behind the fortress.
The machine wasn't operated by a skeleton, but a human.

2011 movie part XVIII:
Wu ran up the spiral staircase to the top floor of the fortress. He had found an underground path to the fortress, and was completely unaware of the battle going on outside. Finally, he entered Garmadon's throne room.
"Hello, brother," the dark lord greeted, sitting on a throne. Four skeletons leaped from the shadows. Wu easily fried them with a few blasts from the sword of fire.
"Greetings," he retorted.
"End him," Garmadon commanded. Samukai crept from behind the throne, the other three weapons in his hands. With a flick of his wrist, the nunchucks of lightning crackled. He attacked, swinging his three weapons in a wild, unorganized fashion. Wu, a master swordsman, deftly blocked and parried Samukai's attacks. Eventually, Samukai lost patience and dove at him. Wu spun out of the way and kicked him in the gut, sending him tumbling back. Samukai got up, enraged. He swung his scythe down but Wu blocked it and slashed at his jaw. Samukai staggered, giving Wu enough time to sweep the Skullkin general's legs out from under him, and send him tumbling to the ground. Samukai let out a howl of frustration and charged at Wu, catching him off guard and sending him flying with the blunt side of the scythe. The wind was knocked out of Wu as he slammed into the wall. Wu got back to his feet and shot a fireball at Samukai, who redirected it with a the scythe of quakes.
"I honestly thought this would be more of a challenge," the skeleton lord gloated.
"Three golden weapons will prove potent in the hands of any man, even one so clearly unskilled with them," the Sensei retorted, readying the sword. Samukai growled.
Kai, Jay, Zane and Cole slowly backed away, readying their weapons.
"Hey... I think I know who that is!" Jay exclaimed.
"Well, don't keep us in suspense, who?" asked Kai.
"Randy Oakroup, the famous scientist."
"Oh yeah, that guy who I've never heard of."
Jay rolled his eyes. "Why do I have to be the only smart one here? Randy Oakroup. Inventor of the uPhone, famous scientist. Disappeared five years ago."
"Enough chit chat!" Oakroup shouted through an intercom, "If you want the master, you'll have to get through me first!"
"Well, I guess I have to find a new role model," said Jay. The robotic spider charged. Blue lasers beams shot from it's eight eyes, following the ninja where ever they ran.
"Go for the legs!" Cole shouted. He jumped over a laser beam and severed one of the robot's legs with a swing of his katana.
"Why you little..." Oakroup said angrily. A few missiles launched from the spider's mouth, but the ninja dodged them. However, every time they jumped out of the way, the projectiles just came back.
"Heat seekers?" Kai shouted, "I hate these things!"
"Redirect them at Oakroup with your weapons!" Cole shouted. They did so, making sure their blows weren't hard enough to set the projectiles off. The missiles did not do any major damage, but disoriented the contraption, giving the ninja just enough time to slice off the robotic spider's remaining legs, sending it crashing down. Zane walked over to the wreckage and opened the cockpit. Inside was Randy Oakroup, alive but unconscious.
"We'll deal with him later," Zane insisted, "We must go into the fortress and find the weapons. " The four nodded slipped into the fortress, leaving behind piles of defeated Skullkin, Spiders, and robot remains.
Kai, Cole, Jay and Zane arrived at the throne room.
"What? How did you get past my guards? And Oakroup?" Garmadon spat.
They ignored him and watched Wu battle Samukai.
"We have to do something, before-" Zane began.
Kai cut him off. "No," he said, "This is Sensei's fight."
Wu blasted a jet of fire at Samukai, who dodged and threw his shurikens. One hit the sword, sending it flying out of Wu's grasp as it was instantly frozen. Before Wu could do anything, Samukai used the nunchucks to blast him back with a lightning bolt. The skeleton lord prepared to use his scythe, but Wu blasted it from his grasp with a fireball. Then he grabbed the scythe from the ground, while Samukai picked up his shurikens. They ran at eachother, but before Wu could do anything, Samukai tripped him and sent him flying with a blow from the nunchaku. Wu fell to the ground and was still. Samukai picked up the scythe and the sword.
"Bring me the weapons!" Garmadon commanded. Samukai just grinned.
"Never! You were foolish to think I would blindly serve you. Now that I have the weapons, I control you now!"
Garmadon laughed. "I am no fool. Nobody can handle all of the power of the four weapons, not even me! I knew you would betray me." The weapons started shaking.
"What's happening to me?" Samukai wailed.
"Now that somebody has finally been foolish enough to unite the weapons, it will create a vortex to a new world. To the dark world. To HIS world. " Samukai cried out as he imploded, his remains scattering into a dimensional vortex. Garmadon got up from his throne.
"Father would not want you to do this brother," Wu pleaded, still lying against the wall as the ninja tended to him. Garmadon snorted.
"Father is gone," he spat, and jumped into the portal.
As the portal vanished from sight, the four ninja ran to Wu.
"Sensei!" Kai called.
"Are you all right?" asked Zane.
"I'm fine..." Wu replied, "Just a bit injured."
"You know he'll be back," said Jay.
"And we'll be ready," Kai replied. He picked up the sword. Jay shrugged and grabbed the nunchucks. Zane grasped the shurikens. Cole held his scythe.
Wu smiled as he struggled to his feet. "I'm sure of that." ***
After a long journey, Jay, Kai, Zane and Cole, their dragons, and Wu arrived at the blacksmith shop. Nya was there to greet them.
"So we've got good news and bad news," Cole explained, "The good news is that Samukai is gone, the Skullkin are divided, and Garmadon has fled."
"The bad news is that he will return," Zane said darkly.
"We'll face him together," said Kai. He drew his sword. The others drew their weapons as well.
"You four have far exceeded my expectations," Sensei praised, "But I'm afraid even your skills won't be enough to battle the dark lord. Not yet, anyway. We must train for that day, and make sure he is stopped."
His four pupils nodded. Soon Garmadon would return, along with a much greater threat, one of which no training could prepare them for.

Ninjago S1E1 Rise of the Snakes part 1:
Wu was in his meditation room, and was partaking in the activity one would expect he might in a meditation room. However, he found himself unable to concentrate, given all the noise his students were making in the training deck. He sighed and decided to tell them to quiet down. Wu entered the training deck, but nobody was there. Puzzled, Wu checked the TV room. There they were, playing their new video game. Annoyed, Sensei unplugged the game console. The ninja started complaining so quickly it was funny.
"Why did you do that? Why?" Jay asked, annoyed.
Wu rolled his eyes. "Just because Garmadon left Ninjago doesn't mean that you can do nothing but playing video games and eating junk food for a week. You must remember, he WILL be back."
"But Sensei," Zane put in, "Ever since Garmadon left, all we've had to worry about is the occasional bank robbery."
"Yeah," said Kai, "Peace is boring. I wanna smash some more skellies."
"We can train tomorrow," Cole said, yawning.
"Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today," Wu said, starting to get mad.
"I prefer the Mark Twain version," Jay countered, "Never put off until tomorrow what can be done the day after tomorrow." "Well... I WAS going to eat this pizza tomorrow," said Cole.
"No pizza for you!" Wu shouted. Cole put down the pizza.
"You are nowhere near strong enough to face Lord Gamardon, not to mention HIM..." Wu explained.
"Sensei, who is this HIM?" Kai asked, "And whoever this chump is, there's no way he can stand against our new move."
"New move?"
"Well, back when we were fighting the Skullkin, we combined our Spinjitzu to form a giant tornado which completely obliterated their entire legion."

Ninjago S1E1 Part 2:
Kai fell out of his chair, Zane tripped on a pizza box, Jay dropped his nunchuck (Nintendo Wii, not the actual weapon), and Cole choked while sipping a bottle of Mountain Dew.
"Alright, invincible ninja," Sensei said sarcastically, "Duty calls. Nya said he's at Jamanakai village." The four got up, bumped into each other, and ran out of the room. They hurried out of the building and into the dragon stables. Jay got onto Wisp, Kai on Flame, Cole on Rocky, and Zane on Shard. After a few seconds of fumbling, they were in the air, Wu and Nya watching their clearly rusty departure. "Do you think they'll ever reach their full potential?" asked Nya.
"Do you want my honest answer?" Wu replied.
"Not really."
"That's probably for the best."
***
As the four rode to Jamanakai village, Kai asked a question.
"So guys, what do you think these weapons do? We haven't had to use them much so far."
"Maybe they increase our elemental abilities," Jay put in.
"Maybe, but we can't be sure yet," said Cole.
"Well, we are probably about to find out," said Zane, noticing the small down along the mountainside. They landed.
"Okay, so here's the plan," said Cole, "We sneak up behind Garmadon and attack. With the element of surprise, we should-"
Cole cut himself off when he realized something.
"Who are those guys?" he asked, pointing to a group of villagers wearing ragged clothing. They were armed with bats, knives, and bows.
"Hey, is that a KID with them?" asked Kai, steaming. The villagers were surrounding the kid, who was wearing a small cloak and a belt. Enraged, Kai ran at them.
"Garmadon will have to wait," Jay said. Kai leaped on the crowd of thugs and kicked one back into the wall of a nearby barn, sending him crashing through the plywood. His adversaries charged at him, but Kai easily deflected their weapons, until the ones with the crossbows ran at him. Cole managed to take them down with Spinjitzu.
"Let's get outta here!" the leader called, and the gang members retreated down the street.
Cole ignored him. "Uh... Kid," he said, "what's your last name? The police will find your parents."
"Garmadon," he replied. Everybody stumbled back.
"Okay... I guess that's not an option," said Cole, surprised, "Why were those thugs chasing you?"
"I stole their candy," answered the kid, "Leave me alone!"
"You stole candy from a gang," Jay repeated, "Wow."
"I assume that this boy is none other than Lloyd Garmadon," Zane informed.
"So what do we do with him?" Cole asked, "What if the-"
He cut himself off when he realized Lloyd was gone., having scurried off into an alley. ***
As the four ninja boarded their dragons, Kai accidentally dropped his pack, causing a scroll to fall out and hit the ground with a thud.
"What? I didn't bring a scroll," said Kai. Zane walked over to him.
"That's Sensei's bag," he said, "You must have taken it in a rush."
"What does it say?" asked Cole.
"Who knows? It's written in chicken scratch," said Jay, who had quickly picked it up, attempting to analyze it.
"No, it is written in the ancient language," Zane pointed out.
"Can you read it?" asked Kai.
"I can try," Zane said, "I think it says, 'One ninja will rise above the others, and become the green ninja.' That's all I can make out, it's kind of smudged, but I think this says 'will defeat the dark lord.'"
"Dark Lord?" asked Cole, "Do you think they mean Garmadon?"
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" asked Kai.
"If you mean me crushing Garmadon in a green costume, then yes," said Jay.
"What?" Kai snorted, "You? The green ninja? It'll obviously be me!"
"Technically, I am the most proficient," Zane put in. Cole rolled his eyes.
"Guys, stop it!" he said, "Whoever the green ninja is, it doesn't matter! We're a team, and we weren't meant to see this, probably for good reason. Now let's go."
"Well, I COULD use some exercise," Zane agreed, boarding his dragon.

Ninjago S1E1 Part 4:
(I think this part got cut out years ago for some reason. Basically just Lloyd escapes into the mountains and is ambushed again by the gang from earlier) ...
"Leave me alone!" Lloyd cried, kicking the thug who picked him up in the knee. The gang member let go of him and grabbed his kneecap. Lloyd ran. He ran until he came across a stone door in the ground.
"What?" he asked himself. He turned and realized the thugs were chasing him. He backed away and accidentally kicked a snake shaped lever. The door opened out from under him and he fell.
"Well," said a thug, "He's nature's problem now." They walked away.
***
Lloyd opened his eyes. The ceiling above him was made of ice, and the hole he fell in was directly above him.
"You're awake," a deep voice said.
Lloyd got up to see a large cobra-person with arms. He cried and fell back down.
"Who are you?" he asked, frightened.
"I am Sssslithraa," he said, "General of the Hypnobrai tribe, and you've just freed ussss."
"Us?" asked Lloyd. More snake people emerged from the shadows, except they had feet instead of a tail.
"We are forever in your dept," Slithraa hissed. The other snakes looked at each other, confused, but they said nothing. Nobody knew that Slithraa had tried to hypnotize Lloyd while he was asleep, but accidentally stared at his reflection in the ice and hypnotized himself.
"Excellent," Lloyd said, his panicked state turning into one of cunning.
