(This topic shouldn't come as a surprise, since I announced I'd make it back a little while ago. I can't find the post anywhere, but I swear I announced that I'd be making this topic, along with New Bat Island, and there were no objections. ) Description and HistoryThe Northern Outland Mountains (also known simply as the Wastelands) are indisputably the most mysterious region on the continent of Chima. No one currently has buildings, businesses, or homes in the mountains, because of creepy myths and folklore that dissuade colonizers. Of course, bold explorers could change that at any time, but even those who've ventured into such regions as the Outlands and the Arctic are uneasy about venturing into this mysterious land. The entire region is actually charted and mapped by ancient explorers, but it's a jumble of mountains surrounded on all sides by desert sands, and it's hard to keep one's sense of direction here. Unlike the shining silver Iron Mountains and the dark brown Outland Mountains, the Northern Outland Mountains are a tan/light brown sand color tinged with a putrid shade of green. It's unknown just what lies in these mountains, but many believe there to be hidden relics and treasures here... Map LayoutDespite not being directly connected to the Outland Mountain range, the Northern Outland Mountains received their namesake due to being above the Outlands, just as the Arctic is above the inland of Chima. The Northern Outland Mountains and the Wastelands are above the Spider Tribe's territory in the north of the Outlands, divided from them by another large gorge (not nearly as deep as the Gorge of Eternal Depth, but about as long). The Northern Outland Mountains are divided from the Arctic by the Ice Mountains, just as the inland of Chima is divided from the Outlands by the Outland Mountains. Indeed, the Ice Mountains [part of the Arctic North topic] are the top half of the mountain strip that starts with the Outland Mountains. For a simplified description, the Wastelands take up the top right corner of the known map. Depending on resources, I'll either make a separate map for the north (Arctic and Wastelands), or make it an extension of Decade's map.

-meanwhile within the wastes, numerous Forgotten from surrounding outland environs come to seek a recluse here, however, the environ is a bit unsuitable for now, maybe some extra colonization and it'll work. but for now, many scouting teams go looking for anything of value, if there is, anything in this waste of a land...- -WHat many excavation teams had found was peices of golden artifacts, when all peices turned up to an meeting tent of archeological finds, they realize it forms an golden harness with fiery engravings on it, well, only one thing to do: copy the shape of the harness into a mold, melt the peices down, and rebirth this harness. They don’t know of it’s power yet, but when they do, they’ll most likely give it to Spalyx or Seris... maybe even solrac, if he were still alive...- -After some smelting and mold-casting and more smelting and ironwork here, the Forgotten soon come out with an fully rebirthed Fire Wings Harness, completely functional to their amazement!!- -They soon pack it up into an wooden crate and send it off to an local under construction airfield in these lands, ready to fly to Freeman Island.-

Completing their climb across the Ice Mountains, Malgus and the amnesiac ice lion Lyrix venture into the Northern Outland Mountains (since they both create a trail of ice where they've walked, Malgus frequently covers up the trail by starting a small avalanche with his scythe, a routine that begins when they enter this region), unaware yet that Senix and Lycor are hot on their trail, coming here from the Arctic and the Iron Mountains, tracking Malgus and Lyrix, respectively.

The Arachnid Alliance establishes a small colony in the south of this region. After his apparent final duel with King Leodus, and the subsequent stalemate with the Empire of Balance, King Skaulus Rax heads this colony, determined to gain more territory for his tribe, or rather, tribes now.

Following the scent trails of Lyrix and Malgus, Lycor and Senix inevitably cross paths in the mountains. The Imperial Knight draws his Fire Valious, taking a step back. Senix no longer has his ice spear, but he's still armed with his powers. Lycor: "An Ice Hunter! What are you doing here, sabertooth?" Senix: "Nothing for the Ice Hunters, I can assure you. I've pretty much renounced my position in my tribe, and I'm merely tracking the same people you are." Lycor: "People? Well, I have smelled an unusual foreign scent alongside the lion I'm after." Senix: "That is the scent of a mammoth. Your fugitive lion is clearly traveling with Malgus, the first wizard." Lycor: "The first wizard, Malgus... Yes, Leodus mentioned him to me. He learned magic from Malgus' teachings. Why is Malgus here, with Lyrix?" Senix: "Malgus is trying to become the Elemental Wizard. There's an ancient prophecy, which states that a being will gain the powers of both fire and ice, becoming the most powerful magic user in Chima. There is a Phoenix armor in these mountains that will allow Malgus, if he reforges and dons it, to gain the power of fire in addition to his ice powers, and he'll be strong enough to wreck havoc on the fire and ice tribes alike." Lycor: "Leodus mentioned that prophecy to me before, but how do I know you're not just trying to get the Phoenix armor yourself, so you can become the Elemental Wizard?" Senix: "Because I was that one who destroyed the armor here, to prevent Malgus from finding it. I did tell the other sabertoothes about this; Malgus must've had this Lyrix person steal our map for him. As I said though, I am no longer affiliated with the Sabertooth Tribe, because it seems like I'm the only sabertooth who cares about this! Since the people we're after are together, and you know of the danger the prophecy of the Elemental Wizard represents, perhaps we could team up to stop them?" Lycor: "I'll be keeping a close eye on you, Ice Hunter, but yes, you're right." The two unlikely allies travel together, continuing their northeast tracking of Malgus and Lyrix's scents. Little does Lycor know, someone followed him out of the Iron Mountains, and is now hunting for him.
