IC: *Frosar scouts for the scorpion outpost in these mountains.* OOC: The J how hidden or obvious would scorpix city be? OOC: I guess a... midway? I imagine it's built high up on a wide place like a ridge, but probably with a few mountains around it. But yeah, it's by no means hidden.

In the office, Malgus sits down on a sofa (his huge form taking it up like a chair) before Scorponok's desk, with the guards surrounding him. Malgus: "I will preface this by saying that I'm no longer the unstable man consumed by vengeance who you heard at the Forever Rock. If I was, I wouldn't be here." Scorponok: "Even so, I never did thank said man for getting Zarak's soul out of my body. But then, I suppose I must thank Zarak as well, for being the initial reason I existed." Malgus: "And that directly relates to what I wanted to tell you. As you now know, all Phoenix are in a perpetual state of 'rising from the ashes', as they say; reincarnation. Unlike all other beings, who live one life and can then be with their loved ones in the Chi Ghost Realm, as I found out by the presence of Tenebrae's ghost at the Forever Rock, which was one of the reasons I'd begun doubting myself and reconsidering my original plan--" Scorponok: "Yes, I found that out the same way. Please return to your point." Malgus: "Right, unlike the rest of us, the Phoenix are doomed to an eternal cycle of rebirth in the material world, in addition to being stuck as physical embodiments of the fire element. The plan I present, is one that will free the Phoenix from both of these curses." Scorponok: "How will you do this?" Malgus: "With an incomplete Great Illumination. It is the most moral, most empathetic, and also most logical plan for the Illumination: the Phoenix Mortality Plan. Through the powers of the Fire Wing Harnesses, the Harness-bearers can manipulate the course the Illumination takes, as you know. We saw from the last Illumination, when my tribe and the Sabertooths were transformed, that they can alter the biology of any species they so choose. My idea is for the Harness-bearers to transform the Phoenix into 'mortal' beings like the rest of us. They would be stripped of their reincarnation and their innate fire powers, in addition to fire chi being erased and the Ice Hunters being stripped of our own powers and physical transformations, of course. This would allow the Phoenix to live normal lives, and would permanently restore the Elemental Balance by removing the fire and ice powers from the world." Scorponok: "Hmm..." Malgus: "According to my son, before his recent downfall into the pit that is the thirst for revenge, everyone had agreed at the Tribal Summit that the best course would be to remove the Ice Hunters' powers. That alone, however, wouldn't be a permanent solution to the Elemental Balance problem. There could always be Phoenix going north and disrupting the Balance with their presence in the Arctic, like that woman Faerin, who Galvanor had told me about. My son seeks a solution to this by destroying the Phoenix, but I just... can't accept something so horrible as wiping out an entire species, no matter how many personal grievances I may have with said species. The moment I realized that, was the moment I realized I'd fallen into evil for a time." After a pause in which no one in the room speaks, Scorponok finally replies. Scorponok: "...I agree. I will carry out the Phoenix Mortality Plan. This is the most reasonable plan I've heard, Malgus. I'm surprised how you've changed." Malgus: "Perhaps... anyone can change, after all." Scorponok says to his guards: "Bring in the Harnesses." Malgus: "What?" Scorpions arrive, to Malgus' surprise, carrying three Fire Wing Harnesses into the office. Scorponok: "We found and acquired three of them, back when I believed the only correct course of action was to keep them locked up here, to prevent an Illumination. Now you have shown me a better option. You are a destined Harness-bearer, yes? If you don one of these, that's one less to worry about--" Malgus: "I'm afraid not. The other Harness-bearers won't trust me, which will likely cause problems when we're actually initiating the Illumination. After what I've said and done... why would they? No, you'll need to find others who're destined. They will be the heroes of Chima, who fulfill the Phoenix Mortality Plan, and bring peace to the Fire and Ice tribes. I'm merely an old man who offers his guidance." Scorponok: "Right. You may stand now." Scorponok holds out a claw, and Malgus gently shakes it in his massive hand. Scorpion: "Headmaster, I didn't say so before, because of your earlier order, but I'm... drawn to this Harness. It's 'calling' to me. I think I'm destined to wear it." Malgus: "Oh, try putting it on. It won't harm you, but the wings will only materialize if you're destined." Scorponok nods in the direction of the guard's voice, and the scorpion puts on the Harness as told. Wings of flame erupt from it. Scorponok, hearing this: "Excellent. You and I will go to Lion City, where the other three known Harness-bearers reportedly are. General, you lead the Brotherhood in my stead." General: "Yes, Sir." Malgus: "I will stay here, and do what I can for this city and its people." Minutes later, Scorponok, a pilot, another guard, and the Harness-bearer walk onto a landing pad, with the former three carrying two Fire Wing Harnesses into a large troop transport Stinger-copter. Scorponok turns despite not seeing the people behind him. Scorponok: "Malgus... thank you." Malgus: "I should be the one thanking you, Headmaster Scorponok. Now go, find the remaining four Harness-bearers for an eight-Harness Illumination, and end the problem of the Elemental Balance once and for all." The Stinger-copter departs, with the Harness-bearing scorpion flying alongside it. Working under the Stinger Brotherhood 3ic (with the second-in-command being Silas, at Black Fang Mountain), and with the Brotherhood insignia now painted on his samurai-like armor, Malgus helps build defenses in the city. New anti-air turrets are constructed, and Malgus (now having plugged fire chi, which reverted his ice zombie transformation in the "natural" way) implements his magic into the technology. The First Wizard begins to wonder if there are any scorpions in the city who have the "magic genes" that would allow them to learn the ancient artes...

Within that archway is the sole gate into the city, or rather a drawbridge, currently tightly pulled up and shut. Though since there isn't a moat around the city, the metal drawbridge, when down (and kept level by a natural rock formation on that side of the mountain, in addition to metal bracers, should the formation someday crumble), serves more as a landing strip for jets or helicopters to glide into one of the maintenence stations near the front (front being the west-facing side) of the city. It is clear that the Stinger Brotherhood prioritizes aircraft, both for warfare and as a means of getting in and out of the city (though the ridge isn't too steep to be traversed, it just takes a long time on foot, and is practically impossible on wheels--probably faster for the Sabertooths with their walkers).

The wall is pretty smooth, but I guess he could manage to climb it while he's chi-powered. IC: Frosar sees anti-air laser turrets atop buildings throughout the city, and many soldiers marching through streets on patrol; mostly scorpions, but surprisingly a few non-scorpions among their ranks by now. They're not getting in the way of "civilians", since practically everyone in the city is armed with at least a knife or sidearm slung across their back. It seems the only real non-combatants in the Stinger Brotherhood are the children living here. Fire chi is everywhere, distributed from heavily-guarded storehouses that have the aforementioned turrets built atop them. There are many open garages with landing strips, for Stinger-Copters or Stinger Tanks to swiftly deploy from at the first sight of an attack. Though Frosar sees all of this in several seconds, he'll have to quickly get down from the wall as a group of nine patrolling Scorpions come into view from the north, marching along the curve of the wall toward him. The wall is wide enough for three Chimians to walk side-by-side atop it.
