OOC: Since I'm leading both the Mammoths and Stinger Brotherhood anyway, I've decided to take full control over the forthcoming battle on this topic. Because otherwise, until/unless batonmaster500 comes back and becomes active, it's going to take forever for literally anything to happen. Any objections to this? IC: Before the Frozen Tusk and the Ice Mammoth Stompers get within firing range of Scorpix City, Stinger-Copters burst through the clouds above them, bombing the mobile HQ and the walkers. Malgus II: "Wha--they were warned about our approach somehow! This isn't over just because we lost the element of surprise, though..." The Mammoth King orders some of the Mammoth-Copters atop the walkers to detach; they engage and dogfight the Stinger-Copters, interrupting the Brotherhood's bombing run and keeping their small number of aircraft here (since the rest are at Crystal Crater) occupied as the Frozen Tusk gets to the gates of Scorpix City. The mobile HQ's ice laser blasts don't freeze the city or its walls thanks to the fire chi, but the fire aura is slowly weakened by the ice onslaught. The Scorpions fire back with both their fire chi turrets and the new 'magic turrets'. Malgus II sees the electric blasts from the latter turrets. Malgus II: "That's... So, they've got at least one magic user working with them! It's no matter; as I always say, magic is nothing compared to advanced military technology!" Inside Scorpix City, Malgus the elder makes his way through the hall inside the outer wall... The Mammoths continue their attack despite having their momentum halted by the Stinger Brotherhood's ready defense. Both sides' respective helicopters furiously dogfight above the Wastelands, neither giving way to the other. Malgus II: "Concentrate on blasting the wall to deplete their fire chi--" He stops dead in his tracks as he stares out the bridge window of the Frozen Tusk, seeing the distinct hulking form of his father standing atop Scorpix City's front wall. Malgus II: "So, you defected to this faction, Father... Trying to complicate this attack, are you? Compromise my critical thinking? Well, it won't work." He calls the modest Sabertooth force [who Frosar has either disappeared from, or left someone else in charge of] over the radio. Malgus II: "Sabertooths! Remember my condition for this alliance; capture my father alive, understood? I'm entrusting your group to neutralize him ASAP, so his presence won't distract me and compromise the attack." Sabertooth: "Understood, Your Highness." As the Sabertooth Walkers suddenly reveal themselves and begin crawling up the outer wall, Malgus the elder looks down at them, grinning beneath his beard.

Malgus: "Exactly as I'd hoped. I'm sorry to do this to you, my son, but it's the only option..." Malgus conjures up powerful and precise bolts of lightning, slicing through and exploding the Sabertooth Walkers. However, he is careful not to destroy all of them... Malgus II watches intently through binoculars, as the remaining Sabertooth Walker hooks its front legs and fangs up onto the wall of Scorpix City, and four Sabertooths jump out. They cautiously approach Malgus the elder with blades drawn. The other Mammoths on the Frozen Tusk's bridge notice that their king is hyper-fixated on that part of the battle, and no longer paying attention to the dogfights in the sky. Mammoth: "Sire, our forces are requesting your orders--" Malgus II: "Shut up! You're distracting me..." The other Mammoths watch helplessly as Malgus II stares unflinchingly. On top of the wall, Malgus stomps the floor, throwing the Sabertooths off balance. He lunges forward and throws one of them off the wall with his tusk, while the remaining three Sabertooths circle around him, trying to figure out a way to capture the now fire chi-powered mammoth. Malgus: "What's wrong, gentlemen? Oh right, you can't freeze me. How pathetic, that your powers are so easily made useless!" The Sabertooths get more frustrated at these provocations, snarling and slashing at their large opponent. Malgus II: "No...no! What are you doing? Stop!" Malgus the elder sends a sabertooth flying into the face of the Sabertooth Walker, whose pilot has now gotten the vehicle fully atop the wall. The walker fires its ice missiles at Malgus, exploding the wall beneath the mammoth's feet as he stumbles back. None of them see the wizard smiling beneath his beard as he pretends to continue stumbling backward, and sends a wild bolt of magic lightning from his hand into the open mouth of the Sabertooth Walker, sending small explosions running through the vehicle. As Malgus had hoped, this show of being continuously "off-balance" and distracted by the walker gives the infantry Sabertooths a clear opening, and they instinctively capitalize on the opportunity, slashing at him with their swords. Malgus makes a pained face and turns to his right as he stumbles back, deliberately looking straight at the Frozen Tusk with sad eyes and reaching forward toward the HQ with an open hand, before falling backward into the city. Malgus II shudders and shakes as he sees this, dropping the binoculars. His eyes widen and his brow becomes furrowed in distress. Mammoth: "U-um, Sire--?" Malgus II: "uurrrRAAAUUGGGHHHH!!! FATHER, WHY?! YOU WERE ALL I HAD LEFT!! YOU WERE ALL THAT REMAINED...of my family..." Mammoths: "Your Maje--!" Malgus II: "The Sabertooths... you...I ordered you to take him alive...SABERTOOTHS!" Mammoths: "Sire, please calm do--" Malgus II: "Attention, all Mammoth Tribe forces! The Sabertooths have slain your leader, King Malgus the First! I, King Malgus II, order you: OPEN FIRE ON THE SABERTOOTHS! LET NONE ESCAPE, NOT A SINGLE ONE!!"

The Stinger Brotherhood pilots are surprised, so say the least, as all of the Mammoths, both on land and in the air, cease their attack on Scorpix City, and instead divert their attention toward the small force of Sabertooths atop and at the foot of the front wall. The Sabertooths begin to realize what's happening as their 'allies' close in. Sabertooth: "W-wait! WAIT! IT WAS AN ACCI--" All of the present Sabertooths are engulfed in an endless barrage of ice missiles that, despite freezing their targets at first, eventually explode in brilliant blue flashes as more missiles are piled on top of one another and the energy builds up. The vehicle that fires the most missiles is, by far, the Frozen Tusk. Malgus II: " MORE...MORE!!! MAKE SURE NONE ARE LEFT!!!" Scorpion pilot: "They've turned on their allies, but...they're still destroying our wall!" Another scorpion pilot: "Wait, look. The Mammoths are turning around." With that portion of the wall left as a steaming, wide crevice, the inside edge covered in a jagged blue, crystal-like dry ice, the Mammoths finally stop firing, and turn west. Malgus II: " NOW, WE ATTACK SABER MOUNTAIN!" Mammoth on the Frozen Tusk's bridge: "Y-your Majesty, isn't this too far?? What about the attack on this city? What about the invasion, and the Phoenix--?" Malgus II: "NONE OF THAT MATTERS NOW, YOU HEAR ME?! DESTROYING THE TRAITOROUS SABERTOOTHS IS NOW OUR PRIME DIRECTIVE!! ANY WHO WOULD DISAGREE ARE TRAITORS TO YOUR TRIBE! MAMMOTHS, AVENGE YOUR KING!!!" A somewhat confused battle cry erupts from the Mammoth forces as they leave Scorpix City behind, immediately going back west over the mountains to charge into the Arctic without a moment's break. The even more confused Stinger Brotherhood forces uneasily watch them leave, before returning to their city. They immediately get to work rebuilding (and melting the ice around) the destroyed part of the wall, while surveying damage within the city, which is minimal due to the Mammoths never making it inside. Scorpions find Malgus the elder in the city, having rolled far enough away from the wall to not be caught in the rubble. Scorpion pilot: "I didn't even notice that Malgus had taken part in this battle. Is that why the Mammoths turned on the Sabertooths? Is he alive...?" Scorpion medic: "He's showing no sign of waking up...but he has a pulse. The Sabertooths' blades would've penetrated rather than freezing him due to the fire chi he'd plugged, but it looks like his armor prevented his wounds from being deep. The question is: what exactly...happened here?" Scorpion pilot: "I think what happened...is that Malgus just saved our city."

In the aftermath, as the Stinger Brotherhood repairs its damaged parts of the city and aircraft (relatively minimal overall), Malgus awakens in the hospital. Stinger Brotherhood doctor: "You're awake! Are you feeling alright, Sir?" Malgus: "Hmm...yes, I'm quite all right--" The old mammoth hears cheering just outside his window, seeing dozens of Stinger Brotherhood members celebrating his awakening. Malgus: "A surprisingly warm reception..." Doctor: "Many now consider you the Hero of Scorpix City, Sir. It's widely believed that you sacrificed yourself, or rather, faked your death, in order to turn the Mammoths against the Sabertooths, thus causing them to end the battle prematurely and leave. Apparently, they're even attacking the Sabertooths' HQ instead." Malgus: "Well, that is indeed what I'd planned. I'm glad it worked...but I'm no hero, by any means. Perhaps someday I will be truly worthy of such a title, once I've fully redeemed myself. Now then..." The huge mammoth tries to get up, but falls back down and rocks the bed, nearly smashing it. Doctor: "Sir, stop! You're not fully recovered! It'll take longer than that for you to be able to move again, especially at your age." The wizard grins. Malgus: "I may be 235 years old, but I'm physically much younger, you know." Doctor: "Are you not physically 50?" Malgus: "Point taken. But I must extract my son...Malgus II is no Mammoth King, he was never meant to be one, and him ending up in that role is my fault; my colossal hubris from back then, declaring myself the King in the North, directly led to all of this. I am thus responsible for ending it. Though my son has mostly woken up from his own power trip, he's still on a path of destruction that'll lead to his downfall; the target of his misguided rage has simply changed from the Phoenix to the Sabertooths. I must save him, before I lose him..." Doctor: "...Maybe we can send a force of Stinger-Copters to extract him?" Malgus: "No, the Elemental Balance is already upset enough. No more fire in the Arctic; bending the rules like that in the past is another example of my previous selfishness, arrogance and hypocrisy. Hmm...bring me that pouch on the table, would you?" Doctor: "Certainly, Sir." The doctor hands Malgus his bag, and the old wizard takes out his spell book. Malgus: "Now then...perhaps the Malgus of 163 years ago had already figured out something for this kind of situation, and I can jog my memory..."

After hours of pouring through his notes, the wizard makes a connection. Malgus: "That's it!, I've found it! Chi aura control, combined with the spirit projection method to dramatically increase its range..." After being called into the hospital room by Malgus, the doctors skeptically grant him chi orbs as requested. The huge mammoth plugs them into his multiple harnesses and swallows an additional orb. As his chi aura erupts upward and phases through the roof of the building, Malgus moves it west with immense concentration, his eyes closed as he 'sees' through the aura's eyes. The Scorpions in Scorpix City gaze in wonder at the astral form as it glides over them, looking as though it's walking on air as it 'runs' over the mountains, into the Arctic...

Malgus' chi aura returns to Scorpix City with Malgus II in its arms. The immaterial figure puts one arm through the open window of Malgus the Elder's hospital room, gently dropping Malgus II into the room just before shimmering out of existence. Malgus the Elder opens his eyes and falls back into his bed in exhaustion, as the Stinger Brotherhood doctors and nurses surround both him and his son.
Scorpion nurse: "Are you alright, Malgus??"
Malgus: "Yes, yes, I'm fine...I just need to...rest..."
The elder Malgus falls asleep, but the younger leaps up.
Malgus II: "Get away! Get away from me and...my father! So it is him..."
Scorpion doctor: "You can't hurt or freeze us, Malgus II; you're unarmed and we all have fire chi plugged. In fact, you should do the same--"
Malgus II: "NEVER! I'll never use the Phoenix' creations! Don't get that ANYWHERE near me!"
Scorpion doctor: "Fine, but please cooperate. Out of respect for your father, who saved our city from you, we've agreed to house you. The rest of Chima thinks, or soon will think, that both you and your father are deceased; Malgus wants to keep it that way, at least until the dust settles."
Malgus II: "I...I see."
Beginning to calm down, Malgus II gazes upon his very much alive father, before allowing himself to be guided into the bed next to his.
