In a flash Whit pushes past Eliaphet and picks up Byrum's mallet, smacking him in the back of the head before jumping high and mounting the side of the Raven Jet.
Rylee grabs her brother's Roarox and fires in his direction. Skillfully dodging the energy pulse and cackling with glee, the elderly wolf remains clinging to the ascending Jet, refusing to let go. Swinging across a gap between the left wing, he finds his target---the Rhino.
Grabbing him by the collar, he throws a cloud of purple powder into the air. Coughing and gasping, the Rhino mistakenly inhales it and his eyelids begin to droop.
From below, Eliaphet pulls out her own Roarox and fires multiple pulses.
Ducking and dodging with ease, Whit throws the Rhino across his shoulder and is about to haul him off until an ear-splitting screech forces him to drop his bounty.
"Get off you old geezer!"
A furious Ryd wields his Thundax, intending to pierce Whit a second time with the sharp end of the blade. Knocking it back with his flute, Whit snarls as he dives for Ryd's unprotected stomach, but he is quickly countered with an upswing. The two engage in swordplay.
Shaking him awake, Eliaphet frantically yells at Byrum. "They're taking him!" But Byrum would not listen, his only focus being on his sickly brother. Noticing his confused expression, Eliaphet allows him to stay.
"Tend to him, and stay out of sight!" Running at an incredable speed, Eliaphet leaps into the air and extends her wings. Wielding her spear, she raises it.
Inside the Jet, Whit gains the upper hand against Ryd, throwing aside his Thundax with a nearby Decalus as the ship jolts due to a damaged engine. Ryd raises his hands in front of his face to shield himself from the harsh blows from the weapon's sharpened end. He groans, knowing he could not take another strike.
" AAAARG!" Whit gurgles as Eliaphet grabs him by the neck with her spear and pulls him back outside of the Jet. Reaching for the sides, he latches onto the Rhino's leg.
Wishing to end this, Ryd ignores the fresh wounds on his hands and wearily rises from the floor, steadying himself as the Jet makes a second jolt. Taking up the fallen Decalus, he growls. "Consider this our last deal!"
With a loud grunt, he pushes the Rhino off the ship.
The three are sent flying. Eliaphet and Whit fight in mid air, but the Rhino helplessly free falls, crying out and desperately flapping his arms.
Letting go of Whit, Eliaphet dives for the Rhino. Placing Chi in her harness, she gains strength and is able to catch him.
Whit scowls. Aiming his flute upward, a parachute releases, slowing his fall.
Landing next to Byrum, Eliaphet pushes him forward along with his brother. "Carry him, make haste!" Although still dazed, Byrum grabs his brother and sets him on his back, racing for Whit's speedorz parked behind the large rock. Setting the three on the vehicle, Eliaphet infuses Chi into the engine and sternly orders Byrum. "Take them far from here, but not back to camp! Go!"
Watching them from above, Whit catches on to their plan and pulls out a small device from his left pocket. He snickers as his claw slowly presses downward.
Without warning the engine of Whit's speedorz roars out violently.
BOOM!
Shielding the three with her wings, Eliaphet pulls them away from the raging flames, receiving the full impact of the explosion. The smell of singed feathers awakens Byrum from his stupor, and his cries out for his friend.
Laying on the ground, Eliaphet winces as the Nameless Rhino gently lifts her head and murmurs, tears flooding his eyes.
Breaking away from the parachute, Whit controls his descent and lands with a barrel roll. Aiming his flute at the sorrowful creature, he secures a rope around the Rhino's neck and pulls on it cruelly.
Gasping and wriggling in shock, the Rhino grabs the rope and yanks it toward him, attempting to upset Whit's footing.
Digging his feet into the ground, Whit snarls as sweat drips from his fur. Displaying the full extent of his strength, he jerks the rope forward.
THWACK!
With her Bulwark, Eliaphet cuts the rope in two. Pushing the Rhino behind her, she enables the energy shield on her weapon, the Chi within her harness slowly fizzing out.
Charging at her, Whit lashes out with a furry of kicks, clawing at her wings. Reaching out for the Rhino, he grabs him in a headlock and howls. With his free hand, Whit flips a second switch on his flute and plays a headache inducing note.
Falling back with a wail, Byrum, Eliaphet, and Beale are knocked unconscious.
...
Awakened, Eliaphet feels the swollen bump on her head. The Chi within her harness had depleted. Turning aside, she notices a faint blue glow around Byrum, who remained holding the hand of his brother.
She suddenly sits upright and frantically looks around her. Screaming, Eliaphet pounds the ground with her fist. "He's gone! HE"S GONE!"

Byrum salutes the ERE members. "Erm, well, see you round."
He drives off in the direction of the Grasslands. Eliaphet uses her remaining chi left and flies upward into the air, causing a minor sonic boom. Still in disguise, she sighs. The land of Chima she once knew has grown more complicated than previously thought.

The blind Headmaster of the Stinger Brotherhood is brought to his office by his aid, and she sets up the intercom. Scorponok's gravelly voice booms throughout the under-construction city: "Men and women of the Stinger Brotherhood, members old and new, this is your Headmaster speaking. I give you my deepest gratitude for what you've done to rebuild this faction, and to make Scorpix City a reality. The Stinger Brotherhood began with a measly 20 of us, and has grown to 362 members as of the last poll, making us the fastest growing tribe-independent faction since the Forgotten. None of this would've been possible without each and every one of you. Now, though, it's time for a new operation to commence. Even as the Air Force assists our Scorpion Tribe brethren in retaking our homeland from the Ice Hunters, I am sending out scouts to search for the Fire Wing Harnesses scattered across Chima. I have realized that we need to seize and contain as many of these as possible, before they can fall into the wrong hands. That is one of the Stinger Brotherhood's new duties to Chima, and is priority number one alongside the war with the Ice Hunters. I am issuing this statement to tell all Stinger Brotherhood members to keep a lookout for any Fire Wing Harnesses; seize them on sight. Thank you, that is all." Stinger Brotherhood scouts spread out into the Wastelands and beyond. As the faction and Scorpix City continue to grow, Scorponok sends a lone Stinger-Copter west. Scorponok: "There's another loose end that comes to mind regarding the matter of the Fire Wing Harnesses..." Now, Scorponok is told by his aides of this Stinger-Copter's return. He walks out to the landing pad with his aides and bodyguards, listening to the sound of the helicopter blades ending their whirring as the craft lands. As soon as he hears the thump of large feet landing on the platform, he speaks before the other scorpions can react. Scorponok: "Malgus..." Malgus: "I'm impressed that you perceived my presence so soon, Headmaster." Scorponok: "You could say my remaining four senses are amplified somewhat. And if you're here, that must mean you're in power suppressing chains, and held at blaster point by the pilot I sent." Malgus: "Heh. You're spot-on. Deduction is a greater 'vision' than sight, indeed. I fully accept that I am here as a prisoner, but I wouldn't have gone quietly if I didn't want to defect to the Stinger Brotherhood." The scorpions around Scorponok murmur in confusion. Scorpion pilot: "It's true, Headmaster. Malgus told me he wished to defect, and this couldn't be a trap, because he knows he can't do anything in these chains." Scorponok: "I see. Very well then. Guards, restock the fire chi in the chains! Wouldn't want our 'friend' here turning our freshly built city into a mountain of ice just by his very presence." Guards: "Yes sir!" The guards take fire chi orbs from their bags and cautiously replace the fizzling-out orbs in the slots attached to Maglus' chains, while Scorponok's aides remain by his side. Malgus: "The fact that I didn't take advantage of those seconds without power in my chains should prove to you that I'm not here to fight. I wish to speak with you in private, Headmaster Scorponok." Scorponok says dryly: "It's not like I can watch for sudden movements if you do try to slay me while we're alone, so, no can do. My guards and aides come with us." Malgus looks around, eyeing the other scorpions on the landing pad. Malgus speaks slowly: "So... am I correct in assuming that... your people already know about all the events at the Forever Rock?" To the mammoth's surprise, Scorponok laughs. Scorponok: "Of course they do. The truth about the Great Illumination, and my former status as a reincarnation of Zarak, all of that, is common knowledge in Scorpix City. The people here, even the growing number of non-scorpions who've found purpose in this faction, are all my brothers-and-sisters-in-arms. I would not keep secrets from my 'family', unless it was knowledge that would endanger their lives." Malgus: "...Oh. I see. Then shall we at least go to an office where I can sit down?" Scorponok: "Yes, let's." The Stinger Brotherhood Headmaster makes a motion with his tail, and all the scorpions on the landing platform go to Scorponok's office with Malgus in tow, still held at blaster point by the pilot.

The Stinger Brotherhood Headmaster makes a motion with his tail, and all the scorpions on the landing platform go to Scorponok's office with Malgus in tow, still held at blaster point by the pilot. In the office, Malgus sits down on a sofa (his huge form taking it up like a chair) before Scorponok's desk, with the guards surrounding him. Malgus: "I will preface this by saying that I'm no longer the unstable man consumed by vengeance who you heard at the Forever Rock. If I was, I wouldn't be here." Scorponok: "Even so, I never did thank said man for getting Zarak's soul out of my body. But then, I suppose I must thank Zarak as well, for being the initial reason I existed." Malgus: "And that directly relates to what I wanted to tell you. As you now know, all Phoenix are in a perpetual state of 'rising from the ashes', as they say; reincarnation. Unlike all other beings, who live one life and can then be with their loved ones in the Chi Ghost Realm, as I found out by the presence of Tenebrae's ghost at the Forever Rock, which was one of the reasons I'd begun doubting myself and reconsidering my original plan--" Scorponok: "Yes, I found that out the same way. Please return to your point." Malgus: "Right, unlike the rest of us, the Phoenix are doomed to an eternal cycle of rebirth in the material world, in addition to being stuck as physical embodiments of the fire element. The plan I present, is one that will free the Phoenix from both of these curses." Scorponok: "How will you do this?" Malgus: "With an incomplete Great Illumination. It is the most moral, most empathetic, and also most logical plan for the Illumination: the Phoenix Mortality Plan. Through the powers of the Fire Wing Harnesses, the Harness-bearers can manipulate the course the Illumination takes, as you know. We saw from the last Illumination, when my tribe and the Sabertooths were transformed, that they can alter the biology of any species they so choose. My idea is for the Harness-bearers to transform the Phoenix into 'mortal' beings like the rest of us. They would be stripped of their reincarnation and their innate fire powers, in addition to fire chi being erased and the Ice Hunters being stripped of our own powers and physical transformations, of course. This would allow the Phoenix to live normal lives, and would permanently restore the Elemental Balance by removing the fire and ice powers from the world." Scorponok: "Hmm..." Malgus: "According to my son, before his recent downfall into the pit that is the thirst for revenge, everyone had agreed at the Tribal Summit that the best course would be to remove the Ice Hunters' powers. That alone, however, wouldn't be a permanent solution to the Elemental Balance problem. There could always be Phoenix going north and disrupting the Balance with their presence in the Arctic, like that woman Faerin, who Galvanor had told me about. My son seeks a solution to this by destroying the Phoenix, but I just... can't accept something so horrible as wiping out an entire species, no matter how many personal grievances I may have with said species. The moment I realized that, was the moment I realized I'd fallen into evil for a time."

The moment I realized that, was the moment I realized I'd fallen into evil for a time." {Jammers on Jgread} Faerin lives, correct?

{Jammers on Jgread} Faerin lives, correct? {Jammers back} Yeah, but now reincarnated as a different species. {Jammers back} Torque is Faerin's spy. The magic ball was gifted to him by Faerin long ago, and with it, he can see anything that goes on in Chima, plus he can communicate with Faerin via the magic ball, reporting important events. Good way that Faerin could be informed about all important info.

Now, Scorponok is told by his aides of this Stinger-Copter's return. I will carry out the Phoenix Mortality Plan. This is the most reasonable plan I've heard, Malgus. I'm surprised how you've changed." Malgus: "Perhaps... anyone can change, after all." Scorponok says to his guards: "Bring in the Harnesses." Malgus: "What?" Scorpions arrive, to Malgus' surprise, carrying three Fire Wing Harnesses into the office. Scorponok: "We found and acquired three of them, back when I believed the only correct course of action was to keep them locked up here, to prevent an Illumination. Now you have shown me a better option. You are a destined Harness-bearer, yes? If you don one of these, that's one less to worry about--" Malgus: "I'm afraid not. The other Harness-bearers won't trust me, which will likely cause problems when we're actually initiating the Illumination. After what I've said and done... why would they? No, you'll need to find others who're destined. They will be the heroes of Chima, who fulfill the Phoenix Mortality Plan, and bring peace to the Fire and Ice tribes. I'm merely an old man who offers his guidance." Scorponok: "Right. You may stand now." Scorponok holds out a claw, and Malgus gently shakes it in his massive hand. Scorpion: "Headmaster, I didn't say so before, because of your earlier order, but I'm... drawn to this Harness. It's 'calling' to me. I think I'm destined to wear it." Malgus: "Oh, try putting it on. It won't harm you, but the wings will only materialize if you're destined." Scorponok nods in the direction of the guard's voice, and the scorpion puts on the Harness as told. Wings of flame erupt from it. Scorponok, hearing this: "Excellent. You and I will go to Lion City, where the other three known Harness-bearers reportedly are. General, you lead the Brotherhood in my stead." General: "Yes, Sir." Malgus: "I will stay here, and do what I can for this city and its people." Minutes later, Scorponok, a pilot, another guard, and the Harness-bearer walk onto a landing pad, with the former three carrying two Fire Wing Harnesses into a large troop transport Stinger-copter. Scorponok turns despite not seeing the people behind him. Scorponok: "Malgus... thank you." Malgus: "I should be the one thanking you, Headmaster Scorponok. Now go, find the remaining four Harness-bearers for an eight-Harness Illumination, and end the problem of the Elemental Balance once and for all." The Stinger-copter departs, with the Harness-bearing scorpion flying alongside it.
