Welcome to the humble tavern! Here you can get something to eat or drink, hear the latest gossip, listen to a wandering storyteller, or meet those suspicious friends of yours for secret meetings.... There are three rules here: Pay for what you eat and drink, no fighting, and don't go in the cellar. Have fun!
This location has the proud distinction of being the place where everyone ignored a raging fire for several minutes. It was also the home of the Crystal of Fire and where the Stennev'avfjellan Civil War kicked off.
A young-looking man in a brown jacket enters the tavern. He has a handsome face and a friendly smile. A longsword is sheathed by his side and on his head is a brown cap worn at a jaunty angle with a red feather sticking out of it. He sits down at a table and waves to the server, smiling amicably.
Lexos, followed by his guards (and the soldier) enter the Tavern.

And I see you've brought company." He bows slightly to Lexos, "General Dror of House Sparrow, tasked with diplomatic negotiations in the Xainish invasion of Co'ren. And you are?"

Lexos bows as well. "Greetings, General Dror. I am Lexos, leader of the Forest Band." Lexos forces his expression to be relaxed, but still keeps his hand on the pommel of his sword. Lexos raises his eyebrows slightly. "But invasion? Hopefully we could avoid that. We've already had enough war lately." Lexos indicated to his tattered gear and underneath, his still bandaged wounds. "I pray that we can come to peaceful negotiations, and fair ones too. We've already had dastardly enemies attack us who have called slavery 'fair'."

Dror smiles at the introduction, but it quickly turns to a frown and a shake of the head as Lexos continues, "I'm afraid that will not be a possibility. These 'negotiations' are but a farce, nothing more. The only reason I was sent here was so I would be out of the way. Truthfully, I would like nothing more than to come to a peaceful agreement, but it can never happen. I imagine that I could convince a few of the others to agree- Corellus, Lei, Saviro, even Adryn and Orvir- but it wouldn't matter. Karon, Nagera, and Murcadh will never agree to a peace of any kind. They love war, thirst for it every moment of their lives. It is what fuels them, more so than food and water and air. Without them, all efforts at peace will inevitably fail. I wish I could say otherwise, but to do so would be a lie. Prepare your armies, Lexos of the Forest Band, for the Xain Empire will soon march, and when it does few can stand in its way." Lexos sees a tiny tear begin to grow in the general's startling blue eyes, but then he blinks and it is gone.

Lexos listens with ever growing dread. After a moment to absorb what he has just been told, Lexos speaks. "We'd have to summon up every ally in existence to win, and even then we'd have to have the dragons to aid us." Lexos looked at General Dror. After a while, even though Lexos doesn't quite fully trust him, Lexos says "I know this may be a lot to ask, and I have only known you for the past fifteen minutes or so." Lexos took a deep breath, then asked "Would you help us?"

Dror looks shocked, but he manages to compose himself, "I... I can't. I can't betray my country. But, I suppose I'll have to stay here for a while to maintain the appearance of actually doing something, and if I let a few secrets slip during that time, well, I can't be held liable for that, can I?"

Lexos nods. Well, of course that's exactly how I'd react. Lexos thought for a moment, then said "I understand." After a brief pause, Lexos asked "General Dror, does the Xain army have any weaknesses?"

"Not any that I would refer to as such. We tend to focus our attention on offense, which often means a weak defense. Short, sudden attacks that target people high up in the command chain might be the best strategy, as long as you have the numbers for it."

This will be impossible. Lexos thought, then says "Thank you for your advice. This could mean we have a chance to win. But I need to know one more thing: Do you know how large the Xain army is?"

"We have over 6,000 here and about 1,000 in Oruthal."

Lexos nods grimly. "Thank you, General Dror. You have been most kind to help us." Lexos takes a deep breath then says "We shall prepare our army at once." Lexos turns around and walks out of the Tavern.

"You are welcome." As Lexos leaves, the general sits back down and rests his head in his hands.
A teenage boy in green robes walks into the tavern. He sits down at the bar and gestures the bartender over. "Tell me, where in town can I find a ride?"
