Their is actually similar to the Hero idea that we attempted (and are still attempting kind of) in the Fourth Age RP. But yeah, let's not ruch into it. Also, I have not seen that Board Game I don't think.
How does the idea work? I think we should keep this RP somewhat distinct from the other one, but it'd be helpful to know what you guys are doing over there, and how well it's working.
I didn't know about it until he mentioned it.
The idea is Mainly abstract. It's one person for each player that is Extremely good at fighting, and gives boosts to people fighting near him. It isn't really working and has mostly flopped, but then most of the RP seems to have flopped while we're waiting for Bobbywan and LegoAquilino, so. . .
Tul Generas of the Orcs, Darthraxx of the dragon Knights. I RP, and have lots of fun.
Here is the post where I claimed Dale. I suppose if you realy wanted Dale I could take mirkwood, but I would prefer Dale.
Darn it. You claimed it 3 hours before me. I am going to head south to Gondor and take up the role of Steward, and then be assistant King under the Mountain to KitKat.
Sorry, but I did claim it first, and I controlled it in the old RP.

It was pretty much just that each person gets a RPC.
The RP does seemed to have paused waiting on good.
We should begin to work on a list of regions now. Do you have a list handy, or should I work on one?

You'll probably want to make sure this is all of them, but it should be.
This looks pretty good.
Do we want the same reagons? Since it seems like maybe we should shift more toward the east. Maybe have one Grey havens reagon, one blue mountions, and a underhill, then focus more on the east. The center of the RP seems to be the Anduin Vale and so it would make sence to focuse the reagons there.
They were fighting, but not large numbers of them. Neither were they skin-changers to my knowledge.
From the information on TG, the Beornings seemed to become the ruling family over local Northmen. As stated in The Hobbit (and I quoted in an earlier post), Beorn's descendants could indeed change form. If we make the Vales of the Anduin Dale's sub-HQ, most of its troops would be ordinary Northmen. However, we would include Beornings as elite units, which would make the HQ distinct from all of the other HQs.

You have a point. My thinking of that comes from a game, and the old rp.
Here is what the FoTR says about the easterling army. " out of the East Men were moving endlessly: swordsmen, spearmen, bowmen upon horses, chariots of chieftains and laden wains."
There tolkien calls out bowmen upon horses, and chariots of chieftains and laden wains. So I think that rhun/khand should get at least good horse archers, if not great lancers.
Ah, I see.
That sounds about right. Perhaps Rhun would be the ranged cavalry, while Harad would be the melee cavalry.

Shifting to the East poses the problem of HQs. Their are no bad HQ's in the East, the closest are the Misty Mountains line.

Ahem... there's Mordor, Rhun, and Dol Guldur in the east. Harad and Umbar are further south, but still in the east.
Personally, I'd rather have the RP cover all of Middle-Earth. It's more fun that way.
