Ninjago S1E5 Part 9:
Cole and Zane snuck around the room, spreading rumors and starting fights between the snakes.
"What's going on?" asked Pythor, "Why are they fighting?" Skales shrugged, then saw a pink blur run across the metal bridges.
"I'll take care if it," Skales hissed, slithering backstage.
***
Cole and Zane overlooked the argument proudly. Suddenly, they saw snakes running at them. Both of them fled, heading for the exit. When they reached a tunnel, Cole cried out and was pulled underground by two large arms.
Constrictai! Zane thought. He ran away to the exit, feeling like a coward for running even though he couldn't win anyway. Three more snakes rose from the ground behind him, shouting angrily. Two had swords, but one had a musket. Zane ran around the corner to another path before the snake could fire. Suddenly, he found himself at a subway station, and found a pink billboard advertising Barbie dolls. He ran in front of it, hoping to blend in. Sure enough, it worked, and the snakes passed him by.
***
"Did you take care of them?" Pythor hissed.
"One of them," said Skales.
"Search every tunnel," Pythor commanded, "If he's a real ninja, you won't find him in plain sight."
"Look!" said Oakroup, "A ninja in plain sight!" Zane was swinging from a chain connected to the roof, right at them. Before Pythor could cast a spell, the pink ninja kicked Skales and him off the platform. Oakroup just pretended to be knocked out. Zane ran over to Cole, who was tied up next to a Fangpyre truck, and freed him as the Serpentine raced up the stairs at them.
"Let's go!" said Cole, plunging his scythe into the ground and causing the stone steps to crumble underneath their attackers. They all fell down. The two ninja raced up the steps to the surface. The snakes followed them, even more carrying muskets this time.
"We have to do something!" said Cole. Zane took out his shurikens and froze the tunnel walls and floor. The snakes slipped and fell before they could fire.
"Let us blow this popsicle stand!" Cole said.

Ninjago S1E5 Part 10:
The two Ninja used the ice to gain speed and dash across the tunnel, while the snakes slipped, fell, got up, and fell again. Pythor and Skales were tumbling in the back.
"You'll have to do better than that to unite the tribessss," Skales hissed, grabbing onto Pythor to maintain balance.
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!!!!!" Pythor screamed, shrugging him off.
***
When Cole and Zane got back to the bounty, they quickly told Sensei and the others what had happened.
"You know," said Cole, "I probably would've lost if I hadn't brought Zane along."
"Don't thank me," said Zane, "If it wasn't for Lloyd's 'laundry skills' I would've been caught for sure!" Suddenly, Lloyd came in.
"Hey Cole," he said, "I got you some peanuts." He was carrying a bag of them.
"Oh, please," said Cole, "I'm not gonna fall for that. I'll just have the doughnuts Jay got me." He opened the box, and a bunch of remote control snakes jumped out; Cole screamed and fell to the floor. One snake took his wallet. Everyone burst out laughing, even Cole. Lloyd and Jay high-fived.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 1:
Pythor, Oakroup, and Skales were working in the Ninjago desert, north of the Jamanakai mountain range. Oakroup was using his machine to scoop giant clumps of sand out of the ground. Pythor and Skales were shoveling.
"We're wasssting our time Pythor," said Skales, "The city isss probably completely ruined, if it exists at all.
"It's got to be here somewhere," Pythor remarked, "Keep digging!" Skales didn't argue, he just complied.
"Guys, I found something!" Oakroup exclaimed, "I mean, masters." Pythor slithered over. Oakroup had uncovered a large piece of stone. It was just a small pedestal with a hole in it. Pythor plunged his staff into the hole, and the ground began to tremble. Buildings rose from the sand as the lost city resurfaced around them. There were shops, houses, fortresses, towers, and battlements, as well as a palace and a statue of a giant snake, surrounded by four towers, in the exact center of the city. Oakroup had to move his truck to avoid being lifted into the air. Pythor smiled as he pulled his staff out of the pedestal.
"Well you were right," Pythor said sarcastically, "There's no lost city. Let's just go back to the Ninjago sewer system."
***
As the bounty soared over the Ancra plains, Lloyd and the ninja were having cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
"I can feel my arteries clogging up every time I take a bite," Jay said, "Cole, this has got to be the only thing you're actually good at cooking." Kai snickered as Cole rolled his eyes. Sensei Wu walked in.
"Hey, Sensei, you have to try this," said Kai.
"No thanks," said Sensei, "I would rather keep my internal organs intact. Anyhow, this came in the mail today." He put a white box on the table. Inside, were new ninja suits. They were basically the old ones, but with tough metal armor and the symbol of the dragon. The ninja dug into the box.
"I don't see how they help, but they look cool," said Cole as Wu nodded, "Thanks, Sensei."
Suddenly, the alarm rang.
"Hey, we're not finished with our junk food," said Jay.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 2:
The four ninja raced up the stairs (Yes, I said four. Jay's back. =P), Kai stuffing five more cinnamon rolls in his pocket. Nya was already there.
"A patrol of snakes have invaded Mega Monster Amusement park," she said, "They have muskets and cannons. Be careful, guys."
"It's just a patrol," said Jay, "This should be easy. Ish."
***
The four ninja were at the deck of the bounty, wearing their new ninja outfits.
"The material is high quality," said Zane, "It's flexible, and durable at the same time, not to mention the armor."
"And it has a cool dragon," said Cole, "Reminds me of Rocky..."
"So," Jay said, wanting to change the subject, "Let's get down there." They landed on a small meadow close to the amusement park. There, they drove their vehicles. Jay got in the back seat of the tread assault; his vehicle was unfinished. They quickly drove to the parking lot and dashed inside, making sure they weren't seen by anyone. There were no screams of terror, just pieces of metal and weapons on the floor, mainly swords and spears, but there was one musket. They dove behind a building on the roof.
"What happened here?" asked Cole, "Did the police come, or..." Suddenly, they overheard two girls talking.
"Did you see that samurai?" asked one.
"Yeah, he just came, and, like, beat up the snakes and the weird guy with the labcoat." said the other.
"Oakroup," Zane whispered.
"Wasn't he, like, so cute?" said the first.
"You saw him?" asked the other.
"Naw, but I could totes tell."
"Seriously?" asked Kai, "People actually talk like that?"
"Aw, man, I was gonna electrify my metal hand," Jay pouted, "I discovered it yesterday."
"Hey guys!" said a voice behind them. Jay nearly fell off the roof.
"Hey sis," said Kai.
"You missed the samurai," said Nya, "He just flew in, sent the snakes running, and flew off." She handed them cotton candy.
"Who is this guy?" asked Jay, when Nya left.
"I don't know," said Kai, taking a bite, "but he's stealing our thunder." "Literally," Jay confirmed.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 3:
The ninja were back at the bounty, gathering at the training deck.
"I'm gonna say it," Kai said, "I hate the Samurai." He sliced a punching bag in half.
"I'm thinking of sending a robot after him," Jay said, "I'd be fine with this guy if he hadn't gassed you three."
"Do I hear a hint of jealousy?" asked Sensei Wu, "Sounds like a good time for a lesson."
"Whoopie," Cole said unenthusiastically.
"The lesson is," Sensei continued, "Iron sharpens iron."
"I do not understand," said Zane.
"In order to reach your full potential," Sensei said, "You will need motivation. The competition will help you improve. Let the samurai inspire you. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be heading off to the ferris wheel." He left.
"Perhaps he's right," said Kai.
"Really?" asked Cole, "We don't stand a chance against the samurai. He has a giant robot!"
"We should turn this into a competition," Kai explained, "Whoever discover's the samurai's identity will be the best of the group."
"You mean the green ninja?" asked Jay. Kai nodded.
"Good," the lightning ninja replied.
"So does everyone agree?" asked Kai. The other three nodded.
"Then let the games begin," the red ninja said.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 4:
At the end of the next day, Cole, Jay, and Zane were at the Bounty. They had all failed at catching the samurai.
"Any luck?" asked Cole. Jay and Zane shook their heads.
"Me neither," said Cole, "Hey, where's Kai?"
"He is dropping Lloyd off at the arcade," Zane explained, "He will be back shortly."
***
Meanwhile, Kai and Lloyd arrived at the arcade. Kai wasn't wearing his ninja suit, of course. Lloyd got off.
"Have fun," said Kai, handing Lloyd 10 copper pieces, which was equal to about $20 in America, "I need to go get the samurai. I'll be back in an hour and a half, Lloyd." He drove off. Lloyd was about to walk into the arcade, when he heard voices from behind the building.
"Impossible," it said, "The lost city does not exist."
"I didn't believe it either," said a voice Lloyd recognized as Skales, "But I saw it with my own eyesss. It's amazing. There are towers and fortressessss everywhere. Besides, I hear there'sss gonna be a fight."
"Count me in," the first voice said. Lloyd snuck to the direction of the voices to see some Serpentine boarding a green bus. He dashed into a nearby store and bought the most realistic snake costume he could find, and it came with two free maracas.
"Convenient," said Lloyd, spending his copper pieces and putting it on. He was the last to board the bus. Either the snakes were dumb or didn't pay any attention, because they fell for it. He was handed a brochure advertising stuffed cobras by Fangtom. The bus started, traveling through the abandoned roads of Ninjago City, around the Jamanakai mountains, and into the nearby desert. Finally, they reached a large stone city in the desert. They were taken to an arena. Lloyd was still trying to get over how massive the city was.
How would they stop Pythor now that he had THIS?

Ninjago S1E6 Part 5:
"Just do what I said," Pythor hissed, "And I promise, you will be my second in command." He was talking to Skales behind a stone pillar at the arena. Skales nodded and slithered away. Pythor went to the middle of the arena.
"I have brought you all here today," he started, "To speak of unity, and-"
"Where are the fightsss?" one snake from the crowd hissed angrily.
"Slither pit! Slither pit!" the other snakes chanted in unison. Pythor smiled.
"Oh, you'll see a fight," he promised, "I asked for your loyalty, but you will not give it. So I will take it! I challenge the other four snake generals to a Slither pit. Of course, no magic." The Serpentine cheered. Skalidor laughed mockingly.
"As strong as he is," said Acidicus, "He cannot beat us all at once." The four charged him. Pythor smiled. Suddenly, the music of the sacred flute blasted from nowhere. Everyone screamed except Skales and Pythor, who had stuffed cotton in their ears. Oakroup had recorded the music of the flute a long time ago and played in on the loudspeaker. Skales threw down his staff and pretended to be hit. Pythor easily beat the other three. The music stopped.
"Bow to your master," Pythor hissed, "Bow to your master, Serpentine!" The Serpentine bowed, afraid, except for Lloyd, who dropped his maracas. One landed on Skalidor's head as he got up. Pythor looked at the audience.
"Lloyd?" he hissed. Lloyd gulped and tried to escape, but Slithraa grabbed him.
"Hello," he said, "Long time no ssssee."
***
The four ninja were at the training deck.
"Stupid samurai," said Kai, "He's impossible to catch."
"One moment he's there, the next he's gone," said Cole, decapitating a dummy.
Suddenly, Sensei walked to the deck.
"Have any of you seen Lloyd?" he asked.
"I went back to the arcade, but he wasn't there," said Kai, "I assumed he walked home."
"This is a flying ship," said Jay, "He can't 'walk' here."
"We must find him," said Sensei.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 6:
The four Ninja quickly searched the arcade and the area around it. Jay "checked" the bakery.
"He's not in there," the lightning ninja said, taking a bite of his brownie, "We should check again." Cole just rolled his eyes.
"Kai! Cole! Jay!" they heard Zane shout, "Look at this!" The other three found Zane near an abandoned street behind the arcade. There was a puddle, then small, wet footprints that led to a series of skid marks that headed into the nearby forest.
"Those are Lloyd's footprints, no doubt about it," Kai determined, "Let's follow the trail."
"You guys go on without me," Jay said, "I'll catch up later, I need to... Do something."
"Okay, I guess," said Cole, "Let's go!" He, Kai and Zane got on their vehicles and sped away as Jay walked into the mist.
***
Sure enough, the other three ninja followed the path into the forest, then the mountains, and finally the desert. After about an hour, they reached a large stone city.
"Whoa..." Cole said, "What the heck?"
"A whole army couldn't breach that city," Kai said.
"Kai is right," said Zane, "We'll have to sneak in." The three parked their vehicles behind a large boulder and walked to the city. The main path was in front of them, but a dozen or so battlements guarded it. Surrounding the city was a huge wall, littered with watch towers. The ninja found a large gap between two of them and scaled the wall in silence. They snuck through the city until they reached the center. Nobody was walking on the streets.
"Weird..." Cole pointed out. Then they noticed almost all of the Serpentine were sitting in the arena seats. All except for a few guards and Pythor.
"It appears Pythor has united all of the tribes," said Zane.
"Not good," Kai said, "Look! There's Lloyd!" Sure enough, Lloyd was standing in a cage near the seats.
"That's it," said Cole, "This ends now." The three charged, chopping down surprised guards until they reached the cage.
And got stuck in their own.
That fell from the ceiling.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 7:
Meanwhile, at the battlements, about two dozen Serpentine stood guard, led by Snappa.
One snake noticed a blue snake in the air, getting larger by the second.
"General Snappa!" he said, "It's a jet coming right at us!"
"Blast it out of the sky," Snappa growled.
***
Jay was flying right to the battlements. He was planning to destroy them now so their escape would be easier. He had a donut and a cup of coffee.
"Wait, I hate coffee," he said, throwing the cup out the window. It spilled on Snappa.
"Fire!" somebody shouted. Cannonballs and ammunition flew everywhere. Jay expertly dove under the ammunition and launched a torpedo, destroying two battlements. Many of the others were damaged by the ammunition flying everywhere. The was a tower at the end of the battlement-infested road. Jay flew upwards and dropped a bomb on it just to rub it in. He flew over the vast city until he reached the arena, which was near the prison. The whole area was surrounded by four small fortresses. Jay swooped down, preparing to go through one of the fortresses via the road. The wheels on his jet came out and the vehicle landed, still moving forward on the ground. The snakes lowered the metal fortress gate, but Jay just blew it up with another missile. Jay used another to blow up the other wall of the fortress and stopped in the middle of a road. Eight snakes with swords surrounded the vehicle as it stopped. Two more loaded muskets from a distance. Jay grabbed a smoke grenade and pulled the pin out as he threw it out of the jet. He jumped from the jet. The snakes could not see a thing, but Jay had been taught to fight without seeing from Sensei Wu. Jay knocked out one snake with his nunchaku, kicked another into a building, and tripped a third one to the cold, stone floor. The musketeers did not fire, as they might have accidentally hit one of their own. The smoke cleared eventually, but it was too late. Jay had escaped into the prison.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 8:
Kai, Zane and Cole were in a cell at the prison's basement. To the left of the room was a staircase leading upwards. The three were guarded by two Serpentine, one with a sword and another with a musket.
"Stupid Pythor," said Kai, "He's the most annoying villain ever." Cole kicked a piece of scrap metal across the floor.
"I can't believe Jay abandoned us," he said, "To get donuts."
"The coward," Kai agreed. Suddenly, there was a clash of metal on metal and twenty of so thumps. A Serpentine guard fell down the stairs, unconscious. The other two guards readied their weapons. Jay dashed into the room, kicking the guard with the sword, and dodging as the other one fired. The lightning ninja broke the musket in half with his nunchaku and used Spinjitzu to take him down.
"Jay!" said Zane.
"We were just talking about how awesome you are," said Cole. Jay took the key from a guard's belt and opened the cell as the others explained to him what had happened. Then they went to the weapon room. Jay already had his nunchaku. Kai found a katana, Zane found a bow and twenty arrows, and Cole found a huge axe. They dashed out of the prison to find their golden weapons.
They found Pythor.
And fifty snake musketeers.
"I should end you right now," the Anacondrai said, "But I have another use for you."
***
The four ninja got to keep their weapons as they were marched to the arena, except for Jay, who was given two daggers.
"Sorry guys," he said.
"It's fine," said Cole.
"Yes, you did the best you could," said Zane.
"Well it wasn't enough," Kai grumbled.
Pythor stood in front of the statue.
"You wanted a fight, Serpentine," he hissed, "And I give you one. I present to you... Ninja vs. Samurai."
Cole's jaw dropped as the huge mech stumbled out of its shadowy cage.
"What?" Jay said, "He has a robot! Not fair!" Pythor smiled as Cole ran at the Samurai, battle ax raised.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 9:
The samurai laughed, obviously confident it would win. Then Kai realized something. It couldn't beat Pythor either. If it tried to escape, it would be immediately shot down. They could win this. The samurai wasn't invincible. The other three realized this as well and they charged together. The samurai stopped laughing and prepared to use its turret, but Zane shot the turret with an arrow before it could fire at them. The crowd cheered. The samurai swung his sword, but the ninja dodged each time and just got closer. The samurai prepared to step on Kai, but suddenly Cole came out of nowhere and cut off the mech's leg before it could do anything. The samurai fell, but then quickly got up and activated it's jet pack and shot fireballs at them from the air. Kai deflected them with slight difficulty as Jay threw one of his daggers at the samurai's jet pack, causing it to explode and send the mech sprawling. In one, final attempt, it tried to bring them all down with its sword. They all ducked, but the samurai then kicked Zane a few dozen yards across the arena. Kai angrily attacked with his katana and plunged it into the mech's back. It stopped moving. Zane got up, and the four ninja ran at Pythor together, dodging arrows and musketballs. Skales gasped. Pythor just smiled and blasted lightning at them. Jay deflected it easily. Pythor's smile melted. The ninja had improved. He pulled a lever, causing the floor to tilt sideways. The ninja slipped and had to hold on to random spikes on the side of the ring to avoid falling into a lava pit. The spikes gave way under the samurai's weight. However, before it fell into the lava, it activated its secondary jet pack.
"Jump on my back!" the samurai commanded. The four ninja didn't question him, but did as he said. What choice did they have? The samurai lifted into the air and took off. The Serpentine fired their muskets, but the ninja were able to deflect most of the ammunition as they flew through the city.

Ninjago S1E6 Part 10:
The mech soared through the skies until it was miles away from the city. There, it dropped off the ninja.
"We need our golden weapons," Kai said, "And our vehic-" The samurai pulled a leather bag from where its stomach would be and emptied it. The four weapons came out.
"Uh... Thanks," said Cole picking his scythe up, "We'll just sneak around to get our vehicles, I guess."
"Not yet," said the samurai, "They will be waiting for you there. It is too dangerous. They have already sent three deadly assassins after you.
"Okay...," said Jay, looking guilty, "You might have to watch out too. I mean... The snakes might look for you."
"I know," the samurai said simply, and took off.
"I'm not sure you know," said Jay nervously, after he left. Something clicked, and then Kai realized what he meant.
And who the samurai was.
***
"Three deadly assassins?" Sensei asked, "Not good. Indeed, this is very, very bad."
"Sensei," said Zane, "Who are they? The General's Guard, again?" Wu shook his head.
"No," he said, "This is much worse. Pythor has sent his three greatest warriors after you, the Elite Three."
"I'm not picking anything up on the radar," said Jay, "We're safe. For now."
"I hope so," said Sensei.
***
Before he went to bed, Kai walked over to Nya's room and knocked on the door. Nya opened.
"Hey Kai," she said.
"Nya," Kai replied, "You're the samurai, aren't you?" Nya nodded.
"Yes," she said. Kai perked up.
"This means, I'm the green ninja!" he whispered, "I need to tell the others-"
"Kai, please," she said, "They wouldn't understand, especially Jay. He would hate me." Then Kai remembered the other reason he had come.
"Speaking of him," he said, "Jay made something to hunt down the samurai, I found this in his room." He handed her the blueprints to a huge robot dragon, labeled Drobot.
"Jay said he can't keep it from hunting down the mech," Kai explained, "He said it will never stop until its found you. Be careful."
Nya nodded. "Thanks Kai," she said, "I'll be fine."

Ninjago S1E7 Part 1:
Kai and Cole stood on the deck of the Bounty, which was floating over Lake Ninjago, a large body of water miles away from the snake city, but still relatively near the desert. Kai was carrying a stopwatch counting at 9 minutes 46 seconds. Zane's head resurfaced from the water.
"Did I beat my record?" he asked.
"You doubled it," Kai exclaimed. Zane smiled and climbed back onto the deck.
"You know," Cole said, "We've accomplished so much in the past thirteen months or so that Sensei has trained us. Do you think we're at our true potential yet?"
Kai shrugged. "We're probably at least close to it," he said, "I'll go check on Jay." Kai walked to the Bridge, where Jay was watching the radar.
"Jay," the fire ninja said, "We haven't seen the Elite three since the city. They might not even be after us."
"I can't be too careful," Jay said, "I've heard stories about those three. It's terrifying, Kai. Anyways, I'm not just looking for them." Kai knew what he meant. Drobot was still out there, looking for the samurai. Jay needed to shut him down, as he now knew she was his ally. He didn't know who the samurai was either, but Kai did, of course. Suddenly, three green dots appeared on the radar screen.
"That's not Drobot," said Jay, "We need to go, NOW." He pressed a button, and the Bounty took off into the air, and Kai ran onto the deck to look for anything. For one, short second, he could have sworn he saw the front of a Rattlecopter poking though the clouds.
***
When the Bounty had outflew the three assassins, the four ninja went to Sensei's room.
"Hey, Sensei," said Cole, "What would our true potential look like?" Sensei was sitting in the back of the room, reading a scroll. He didn't reply.
"Sensei?" asked Kai. Sensei looked from his scroll.
"I am sorry," he said, "I've been thinking lately." He stood up.
"Come with me," he said, walking out of the room. The ninja shrugged and followed.

Ninjago S1E7 Part 2:
"Now," Sensei began as the four were at the deck, "You all may have reached peak physical condition, but your inner strength has not been fully realized yet. In each and every one of us, there are obstacles preventing us from reaching our full potential. Fear, anger, grief, confusion, and guilt are some of these many obstacles. Only when your heart has overcome these emotions, will we truly be able to stop Pythor, and the Great Devourer."
"Sensei," said Zane, "What is the great devourer, exactly?" Sensei sighed.
"I too have obstacles within myself," he began, "I think it's about time I told you about that horrible monster. Many years ago, when my father was still alive, my brother and I were dueling with wooden practice swords. My father was out shopping for food. Now, my brother was not always the dark lord he is today. In fact, he was my friend. As we were practicing, my brother disarmed me, and my practice sword fell into the shrubbery. Knowing my father would be mad, Garmadon told me to get it. I said I wouldn't. I had seen strange, frightening animals outside of the house before. Garmadon rolled his eyes and went to get it himself. When he reached into the plants, a small snake bit his hand and slithered away. That was the Great Devourer. Of course, it is much bigger now, but that is not the point. My brother collapsed, and my father immediately carried him inside after he returned home. But it was too late, my Garmadon was very ill. The venom of the Devourer contained a substance that darkened his thoughts and clouded his judgment. It did not effect him much at first, but as time grew on, he started to worsen until he became what he is today."
"So the Great Devourer is the reason your brother is the Dark Lord," Kai said.
"And the snakes want to RELEASE it?" asked Jay.
"Pythor believes he can control it," said Sensei darkly, "If he is right, and he manages to release it, there's no telling what could happen to Ninjago."

Ninjago S1E7 Part 3:
Later that day, Sensei told Nya to land them at Port Navalia, a sleepy little town near the capital. He had packed his stuff.
"Where are you going?" Cole asked before he left.
"To a place you cannot follow," Sensei said.
"You're not going the Pythor Town or whatever they call it, are you?" Cole asked.
"No," said Sensei, "I am going to retrieve an... Ally. Cole, I trust you will lead your team well while I am gone?"
Cole nodded.
"Good," said Sensei. And then he left.
***
Pythor had been looking everywhere for information. Old documents, more old documents, even more old documents. Nothing. And it didn't help that his entire army was standing behind him.
"There'ssss nothing in the entire city," said Skales, "Have our ancessstors left us nothing?"
Pythor opened another drawer, found nothing, and sighed. He dislodged the drawer and threw it against a wall. Surprisingly, part of the wall cracked and a painting fell to the floor, and the serpentine noticed writing on its backside.
"A clue on the wall?" asked Skales, "It'sss like they didn't even want us to awaken the Great Devourer." Pythor ignored him and read the paper aloud.
When five tribes unite as one
The path towards the devourer has begun
Only the five generals can reveal
The locations of the four blades, forged from steel
"Well that wasn't vague at all," said Acidicus.
