Lloyd got up, taking a moment to piece together what happened. Oakroup must've used the Fangpyre truck's teleporter beam to save his life. Lloyd fished inside his pocket and found his map. The closest tomb was the Anacondrai. It was time for revenge.
***
After a long walk through the sea of sand, a large desert covering half of the mountains bordering Ninjago from Japan (Ninjago is a country in this version, founded and created by the first Spinjitzu master), Lloyd found a small cave. He walked inside, it was pitch black. Suddenly, Lloyd felt a lever on the wall, and pulled it. A new section of the cave opened up: The Anacondrai tomb. Lloyd was confused. Shouldn't the Anacondrai have already gathered before him? He peeked inside. Due to a slight crack in the cave wall, he was able to see the bones. Old bones. Just bones, no muscle, no skin. Clean bones. Picked clean. This grossed Lloyd out,.
"Hello?" he asked, "Is anyone here?" He walked deeper into the tomb, frightened, but his will to save Oakroup overpowered his fear. Suddenly, he saw a flash of purple, and fell back, crying out. A large serpentine general with a long neck stood before him.
"Terribly sorry," it hissed, helping him up, "As you can tell, my truly unfortunate appearance has a rather unsettling effect on people." Lloyd just stared.
"My name is Pythor P. Chumsworth," the purple snake said, "Odd last name, eh?"
"What happened to the others?" Lloyd whimpered.
Pythor sighed. "Poor souls," he said, "Must've slowly starved away. Not very much food around here..."
"How did you survive?"
"It's a long story. Basically, very, VERY basically, I survived because I am a wizard."
Lloyd's eyes widened. "A Serpentine wizard? Wow!"
"Not just any wizard, the second most powerful in all of Ninjago... At least, as of when I got locked in here. I am a wizard of the elements," Pythor explained, "I control fire, ice, lightning, earth, and even shadow, to some degree. Now come along, I sense great desire for conquest in you, and I can always appreciate that."

Ninjago S1E4 Part 6:
Darkley's Boarding school for bad boys stood in the middle of a small field. Lloyd and Pythor were inside. They had snuck into the building and tied the kids and teachers inside, without raising an alarm. That had worked, until one kid escaped and called the police, who were surrounding the building. Pythor's plan had worked, the police did not come inside, since he had control of the hostages. What neither of them knew, however, was that the ninja were coming up with a plan to get inside. A very complex, detailed plan...
"So," said Cole, "The plan is to get Lloyd."
"What?" Kai asked, "That's it?"
"Oh," said Cole, "One more thing. Don't die."
"Thanks for the help," Kai said sarcastically. Jay took command of the Bounty, which had been hovering at the edge of the city, and drove it behind the building. Understanding the element of surprise was lost, Kai, Cole and Zane slipped into the school, drawing their weapons.
"Be ready," Cole whispered, "The Fangpyre or whoever Lloyd is with could be anywhere." Kai opened a wooden door.
"Found the hostages," he whispered. Sixteen or so kids and four teachers were tied up in the corner. Cole raised his scythe and cut their ropes into bits in a few swings. All twenty of them ran out of the room.
"Stay out of school, kids!" he called out to them. The three ninja left the room and explored the rest of the building, in case there were more hostages. There weren't.
"I sense Lloyd is around here," said Zane, as they met up in the hallway. "Enemies of master Garmadon, I presume?" a voice rasped behind them. The ninja turned to see Pythor.
"Whoa, that's a big snake," remarked Kai, drawing his sword. Pythor chuckled.
"So you're the ninja Lloyd was talking about," he said, "I thought there were four." Before anybody could reply, the wizard's hands crackled with lightning, which he shot at the ninja. The three jumped out of the way, but Pythor attacked once again with a fireball that hit Cole strait in the chest. The earth ninja was knocked into the wall, but quickly got back up, scythe in hand.

Ninjago S1E4 Part 7:
"Okay, so he's big and powerful," said Kai, "These snakes just keep getting better and better." Zane tossed a shuriken at Pythor, who deflected it with his staff and shot a bolt of lightning from his fingertips. Zane jumped out of the just in time.
"I think we're gonna need a plan," said Kai.
"Working on it!" said Cole, evading another wave of fireballs. Then he had an idea.
"Hey guys!" he called, "Get his staff! Maybe we can use the antivenom to-" Pythor sent him sprawling with a jet of flame. Kai jumped from behind and swung at the wizard with his sword. Pythor blocked it with his staff, but the fireball emerging from the red ninja's weapon sent him crashing into the wall, dropping the staff. Kai picked it up.
"Drink the antivenom!" Cole shouted. Kai shrugged and drank a little out of the staff. He gagged.
"Tastes like expired tofu," he said. Pythor got up and shot a lightning bolt at him. The projectile didn't even effect Kai.
"What?" Pythor hissed. Zane ran at him, but the Anacondrai froze his feet together, sending him crashing down. Kai passed him the staff. Zane drank some, and his feet instantly thawed. He tossed the staff to Cole, who also drank the antivenom.
"Ew..." he said, grimacing. Pythor hurled more fireballs at them, but they did nothing. He gaped. Then, his look of shock diminished.
"I may not be able to hurt you," he rasped, "But it can." He used both of his hands to form a large black sphere. He dropped it, and it instantly solidified.
"Have a nice day," said Pythor, disappearing.
"He can turn invisible too?" Kai shouted. Suddenly, the sphere shook, then a crack formed on it.
"It's an egg!" Cole exclaimed. The "egg" suddenly split open, and a thick, black gas emerged from it. The gas shifted, and swirled to become a being. Zane stepped back in shock.

Ninjago S1E4 Part 8:
Without hesitation, Kai swung his flaming sword at the demon, but the blade passed through it, not affecting the demon at all. The demon let out a piercing shriek and slashed at the red ninja with its claws. Kai blocked it with his sword, but the impact sent him sprawling.
"So basically," said Cole, "It can hurt us, but we can't hurt it."
"Why can't anyone fight fair?" asked Kai, getting up. The three ninja swung their weapons at the demon, dodging its fangs and claws. None of their attacks were successful. Their Spinjitzu didn't do anything either.
"That leaves us with one option," said Cole.
"The giant tornado thing?" asked Kai.
"The giant tornado thing," confirmed Cole.
"Do you think it will work without Jay?" asked Zane.
"Eh, it's worth a shot," said Kai. The three activated their Spinjitzu at the same time, forming a larger tornado. It was only about half the size of the one they had made in the underworld, but it worked. The demon shrieked and was torn apart by the massive whirlwind, scattering its gas-like pieces around the building. After a few seconds, the tornado ceased.
"That went well," said Cole, "Of course being a demon it might come back, but let's go find Lloyd first." Zane and Kai nodded and ran up the stairs to the rooftop. There, on the other side of the building, stood Lloyd, cowering.
"Pythor?" he called, "W-where are you?" Zane, Kai and Cole put away their weapons and walked towards him. Suddenly, a purple creature appeared right behind the dark lord's son.
"Pythor!" Lloyd cried, "Get them!" The Anacondrai ignored him and pulled a map from his master's cloak.
"Pythor?" repeated Lloyd. Pythor opened up the map, which happened to display the Serpentine tombs. "Ah," he said, "Just what I needed! Thank you master Garmadon, your services have been quite helpful to me."
"I thought you were my friend!" Lloyd cried. Pythor just smiled.
"Cheerio!" he said, disappearing again.
"Cheerio?" asked Kai, "Lucky Charms are better." Cole facepalmed and walked toward Lloyd.
"And that's how Jack the rabbit learned to never trust a snake," Sensei said, closing his book.
"Thanks, uncle," said Lloyd. He was under the covers in his bed. They were back at the Bounty. "Good night," said Sensei, getting up and leaving the room. He closed the door as the ninja stared.
"Sensei," said Cole, "This guy released two Serpentine tribes and a wizard who can hatch evil demons from an egg. Why is he getting a bedtime story while we've been training for hours?"
That reminds me," said Sensei, "Have you come up with the answer yet?" Jay handed him the list. Sensei read it for a minute, then shook his head.
"All wrong," he said.
"We had ten pages of answers!" Kai exclaimed.
"Sensei, " asked Zane, "What IS the answer?" Sensei smiled.
"The best way to defeat an enemy is," he said, pausing for effect, "To make him your friend."
"Ohhhhhhhhhh," said the four ninjas in unison.
"By the way," said Sensei, chuckling, "The Jay talking about actin and myosin comment was amusing. That was a close second." Jay shot Kai a Thank you SO much for writing that glare. Cole stifled a laugh.

Ninjago S1E4 Part 10:
"Work faster!" the Fangpyre soldier commanded, cracking his whip in display. Oakroup was being forced to work on a design for a Serpentine motorcycle. What the Fangpyre didn't realize, though, was that he could build much more deadly weaponry that could wipe out the ninja completely, if they'd only listen to his suggestions. Oakroup was especially miserable because at least Garmadon had paid him with some of the money the Skullkin brought back after their raids. But now the Skullkin were just a few scattered clans warring with each other for control of the Underworld. He wondered if Wyplash had succeeded and reunited them. His thoughts were interrupted as the door to the tomb opened...
...And in slithered none other than the Anacondrai general himself. Before anyone could react, he slammed his staff onto the ground, causing a tremor in the earth that knocked everyone, except for the Anacondrai himself, to fall over. Oakroup staggered up as fast as he could and took this opportunity to try to escape the tomb, but the Anacondrai grabbed him by the lab coat and and pushed him back into the room, then he turned his attention to the Fangpyre.
"Hello, boys," he said, "I was wondering if you would like to participate in my... Project."

Ninjago S1E5 Part 1:
Kai turned on his laptop and opened Minecraft. He selected the world with the new arena he had been working on for the past four months. It was almost complete. When the world loaded, what was once a gigantic, detailed arena was a few stone and wooden chunks randomly placed everywhere. In the center, there was a sign saying:
"You've been trolled.
-Cole"
"COLE!" Kai shouted.
***
Cole was in the kitchen, working on his new Fish eye soup.
"There," he said, "I'm done. Took me three days, but it was worth it." He took a small sip from a spoon and gagged.
"Ugh!" he shouted, "What's in this stuff, Fish eye? I mean, uh... Raw fish eye?" Suddenly, he saw and picked up a note.
If you don't mind, Cole, I've spiced up the soup a bit.
-Jay
"JAY!" Cole shouted.
***
Jay was at the deck, working on his four-armed training robot. He rolled (Not hovered, his HoverChair was destroyed in a fiery explosion. Don't ask.) a few feet from it and grabbed his remote.
"Alright, evil robot min- I mean training robot," he said, "Do your stuff. In a few days I'll be well enough to use you." He pressed the power button. Nothing happened.
"That's odd," he said, "It was working before." Suddenly, he saw a note.
I updated your robot a little. Hope you like it!
-Zane
"Updated my-" Jay cut himself off when he saw the robot shaking and moving.
"OBLITERATION MODE," it said, raising its laser turret/third arm.
"ZANE!" Jay shouted, rolling away from lasers.
***
Zane was in the basement, opening the washing machine. He saw a note on his bed.
I threw in my ninja suit in with yours, if it's fine with you.
-Kai
Zane smiled and took out Kai's suit. Then he took out his, to find that it was bright pink. He stared for a while.

Ninjago S1E5 Part 2:
"Do you know how long it took me to make this? 3 days!" Cole shouted at Jay, brandishing his raw fish eye soup. "Yeah? It took me 3 MONTHS to make my arena!"
"I had to order a one-of-a-kind piece of technology from South Korea to build that machine, and you hack into it. Now I paid $3,000 to get torched by a flamethrower with spinning buzzsaws. Thank you, Zane," Jay said, rolling his eyes. Zane ignored him and held up his ninja suit.
"How am I supposed to strike fear in this? It's pink!" he shouted.
"You could make the Serpentine go colorblind..." said Cole. Sensei and Lloyd walked into the room. Lloyd was snickering. He opened the door to the storage room. Inside was some laundry detergent, an empty salt shaker, a Minecraft trolling guide, and a copy of The encyclopedia of hacking.
"You did this?!" all four ninja asked.
"I get first Dibs!" Cole said.
"No dibs!" Sensei ordered.
"Are you sure? Cause I bought, like, two boxes of Dibs yesterday," said Kai.
"I put Lloyd up to this," explained Sensei, "To teach you a lesson about jumping to conclusions! Did any of you even bother to ask the person you accused?"
"Pfft. Yes," said Kai. He paused, "No." "No offense, Sensei, but today's lesson is lame," said Cole, "Why can't we learn to paralyze an enemy in a single blow?"
"Or to slice through metal with a sword?" asked Zane.
"Or to blow something up WITH YOUR MIND?!" asked Jay.
"Not all lessons are about fighting!" Sensei exclaimed, "And that last one isn't even possible." Suddenly, Nya's voice spoke through the intercom.
"Uh... Guys? I could use you up on the bridge," she said.

Ninjago S1E5 Part 3:
Sensei and the four ninja went up to the Bridge, where a large map of the island of Ninjago was visible on the computer screen.
"So," Kai asked Nya, "Any idea on where the two other tombs are?"
"They could be anywhere," said Jay, "One might even be on the other side of the border!" Ever since the Ninjago civil war had begun, only soldiers could cross the border into the East or West. East Ninjago was losing badly, but none of the other countries were coming to help, perhaps aiming to avoid a sort of international conflict.
"Actually," Nya said uncomfortably, "Both of them are."
"How do you know?" asked Cole.
"Sensei let me borrow some of his scrolls for research," Nya explained, "There was a map in there. " "Convenient..." Kai said.
"Okay, we need to get to those tombs before Pythor," said Cole, "Zane and I will go to the Constrictai tomb on-" he looked at the map, "Mount Comprino. Kai, you get to the Venomari tomb in-" he checked the map again, "Aspargo bogs. These sound weirdly Italian. Jay... Uh... You protect the bounty." Jay sighed.
"How are we gonna cross the border?" asked Kai, "And even if we do, how will we get there before Pythor?"
"Don't worry," said Jay, "One of those problems is already solved. Follow me." Jay wheeled himself down the stairs, which wasn't very comfortable, and led them to the storage room.
"What is in here?" asked Zane. Jay hit the light switch, revealing three vehicles.
"You're welcome," said Jay.
"Whoa!" Kai and Cole said at the same time.
"Kai, this one's for you," said Jay as he pointed to a bright red motorcycle with a long blade on each side and a turret on the back, "The blades pop out when you press the green button." Kai ran over to it.
"Cole, the huge tread thing is yours," Jay said, "Like the dual cannons?"
"YES," exclaimed Cole, running to it.
"Zane," said Jay, "The snow mobile-like vehicle is yours. It's small, but very fast, and has a built-in gun. Enjoy."
With their new vehicles, it didn't take very long for Zane and Cole to reach Mount Comprino. Jay had activated the cloaking device on the Bounty and crossed the border to West Ninjago in secret. They stopped at the base of the mountain.
"Well, we can't drive any farther," said Cole, "The mountain is way too steep. We'll have to climb."
"But this is the highest mountain in Ninjago," Zane pointed out.
"Don't worry, I know a shortcut," said Cole, "Step here."
"Okay," said Zane, stepping next to him. Cole plunged his scythe into the ground, causing part of the ground below them to lift into the air and carry them upwards, along the slope and towards to the summit.
"Pythor can't do that," he said with a smile as he concentrated on moving the earth.
"Actually," corrected Zane, "I think he can."
***
The black and pink ninja entered a small cave in the mountain.
"Zane?" said Cole, "I think they already opened the pit."
"We should probably investigate."
"Great idea, Pinky."
"Don't call me that." The two walked inside the pit, and came across writing on the wall.
"What is this?" asked Cole.
"It's in the old language," said Zane, "Written by the natives before Ninjago was a Japanese colony. It says, 'Five will become One.'"
"What does that mean?" asked Cole.
"I think it means the tribes will unite," said Zane.
"Anything else?"
"I don't know this next part," said Zane. Cole looked at the wall.
"That's in Latin," he said, "Weird, how would snakes trapped in pits before the silk road know any Western languages?"
"You're right," said Zane, "Something's up... What does it say?"
"I think it says, 'When the serpentine unite the four fang blades, the ultimate evil will rise again: The great devourer.'"
"Cole?" asked Zane, "Do you feel that?" The ground was rumbling. The ninja drew their weapons.
"What's happening?" asked Cole. Suddenly, part of the ground opened up as a large, black serpentine general emerged from the cave floor.
"I've been waiting HOURS for you," the general hissed, "Pythor says hello. My name's Skalidor. Pleasure to meet you." Skalidor swung his tail like a club, knocking Zane to the ground. Then, he quickly wrapped his body around him and began to squeeze. Cole Brought his scythe down on Skalidor, causing him to hiss and let go. He picked up a metal axe lying in the corner and charged the black Ninja. Zane ran over and kicked Skalidor in the spine. The Snake general howled in pain and retreated underground.
"Zane! Get to the rope!" said Cole. Suddenly, Skalidor resurfaced in front of him and prepared to constrict him on the spot. Zane pulled out one of his shurikens and threw it at the Constrictai general, piercing him in the tail. Skalidor screamed, let go of Cole and attacked Zane, anger in his eyes. Cole got up, grabbed his scythe, and used the side of the blade to knock Skalidor unconscious.
"Nice one," Zane panted.
"Thanks," said Cole, "But he was expecting us. I think Kai is walking into a trap."
"Let's go," said Zane.
***
Kai drove near the shore of the bogs until he reached a wooden bridge. The instant he reached the other side, he gagged.
"Ugh," he said, "Smells worse than Cole's fish eye soup." He dipped a stick into the acidic liquid where water was supposed to be, only half of it came back out. He decided to not go for a swim. Instead, he crossed using the tree branches until he reached a hill with a large, circular door on its side. He sliced through the lock and went inside. The smell was even worse in there. He checked the rest of the cave. It was empty. Pythor must have already been there!
He angrily kicked a rock against the wall, creating an echo in the cave that lasted only for a few seconds. He walked outside the cave and decided to go back, when he heard a noise from behind. Kai instantly drew his sword and turned around. It was just a frog. He sighed.
"Don't do that," he scolded. Suddenly, the frog leapt away from its log as a green snake emerged from behind.

Ninjago S1E5 Part 6:
Kai stumbled backwards and fell with a thump. One second later, the Venomari was on him, and released a green liquid from his mouth. It went into Kai's eyeballs. Then, he saw the scariest thing he had ever gazed upon in his life.
He was being surrounded by Gingerbread men and elves. He crawled into the cave, cowering in fear. Just when he thought it was over, a black and pink blur arrived and beat down the closest Christmas warriors. It was Zane, followed quickly by Cole, their weapons drawn, fighting off the hoards of Constrictai and Venomari. Suddenly, Pythor was there behind them.
"Peekaboo," he said in a mocking tone. Zane took out the sacred flute, but Pythor instantly blasted it out of his hands and into the acidic swamp with a flick of the wrist and a jet of flame. "I was never a fan a music," he hissed. The three ninja backed away, jumping on a log, which started quickly disintegrating as it floated from the shore. Pythor smiled, cruelty and malice in his eyes.
"I used to hate dragons," said Cole, "But now, I officially hate snakes."
"Hey, look, a magic rope," said Kai, walking to the edge of the log. Cole pulled him back.
"It was an honor fighting alongside you all," said Zane.
"Yeah, agreed," said Cole. Suddenly, a rope appeared in the air.
"What?" asked Cole.
"Look out for the magic floating snake over there," said Kai. Cole rolled his eyes and climbed onto it. Kai and Zane did the same. Pythor looked stunned for a second, and became even more shocked as a large, red and gold robot with a wicked sword landed in the middle of the shore. The Sepentine attacked. The robot caught a few in a net, and fended off the others with its sword and shoulder turrets. Its right hand morphed into a cannon and fired at the others. The Sepentine fled, except for Pythor, whose hands were crackling with electricity. The blast created a nasty hole in the robot's armor, but did nothing else. Annoyed, Pythor prepared another attack.
Instead of shooting another lightning bolt, Pythor directed a blast of cold wind at the robot, freezing its feet to the ground. The robot quickly struggled free and fired its sonic cannon. Pythor created a wall of rock right in front of him as a shield, but the explosion knocked him back. When the smoke cleared, he was gone; he had obviously turned invisible and escaped. The robot had won, but the explosion had damaged it. It needed to make repairs. The three ninja dropped from the rope that was hanging from a tree, and approached it.
"Who are you?" asked Zane.
"Santa? Can I have Skittles for Easter?"
"Thank you mysterious warrior," said Zane, "I owe you my life for-" Suddenly, an odd green gas sprayed from the robots right wrist, knocking Zane out.
"Hey, that wasn't-" Cole stopped when the gas hit him and Kai, kocking them both out. The last thing they saw was the robot flying off.
***
That night, on the bounty, the ninja, Nya, Lloyd, and Wu had pasta for dinner. Cole was describing the event.
"And then, a giant robot thing appeared, and-"
"It was a Samurai," Zane interrupted, "You could tell by the sword."
"A samurai?" asked Jay, "But the military stopped using those a while ago. Now they have tanks and such."
"I saw Santa," said Kai, "And then I go night night."
"When is the Venomari spit supposed to wear off?" asked Nya, annoyed.
"Probably just a few hours," said Jay, "Unless the general sprayed him. Then his bones will soon crumble to dust and his stomach will digest itself. But that would've happened by now so we're safe. I think."
Cole gave Kai a concerned glance as started eating his paper plate.
"Okay, let's not let this samurai cloud what's really important," he said, "Stopping Pythor before he unites the tribes and unleashes some 'Great Devourer.'"
Lloyd sighed. "This is all my fault," he said, "I wish I had never found the Hypnobrai."
"We cannot change the past," said Wu, "But we can shape the future." Suddenly, a piercing alarm rang at the Bounty.

Ninjago S1E5 Part 8:
The four ninja, Nya, and Wu ran/wheeled up the stairs to the Bridge.
"The Serpentine!" said Nya, "They're at Ninjago city!" Ninjago city was Ninjago's capital, at least the capital of East Ninjago. West Ninjago's capital was now Praeceptor town.
"How many are there?" asked Cole.
"All of them!"
"Pythor must be trying to unite the tribes there," said Sensei, "You must stop him!"
"Pretty colors on screen like Skittles," observed Kai astutely.
"Zane and I will go," said Cole, realizing they were now down to two effectual ninjas. They boarded their vehicles as the bounty took off into the air.
***
The bounty landed in a small, unoccupied valley. Zane and Cole sped out of the ship almost immediately, heading for the exact location of the gathering. All they found was a random street with nobody there.
"I've always wanted to come here, Pinky," said Cole, "This place is way cooler than my home village."
"Yes," said Zane, "But where are the Serpentine? This is the exact location." Cole spotted a pothole in a nearby alley.
"I hate snakes," he grumbled in realization. ***
Down in the pit of hissing, bickering snakes, Pythor was standing next to Skales and Oakroup.
"You'll need more than words to bring them together, Pythor," said Skales.
"Not if you choose your words carefully," Pythor replied, "Isn't that right Oakroup?" Oakroup nodded nervously.
"They're ready, Pythor," said Acidicus, the Venomari general, said.
"Excellent." Pythor slithered to a stone platform overlooking the tribes.
"Friends, enemies... More enemies," said Pythor, "I have united you all for one sole purpose..."
***
As Pythor went on with his speech, Cole and Zane snuck across the small metal bridges near the roof.
"The good people of Ninjago have locked us in those horrid tombs," Pythor continued, "So it's about time we repaid them." The Serpentine cheered, finally agreeing on something. Cole called down from the bridge.
"Sounds good, but everyone knows the Hypnobrai will screw it up!" he said, ducking out of view.
