Saaaaaaame. I can't remember the last time I was more upset about a character's death in a movie then I am about Ben's. At least he's a Force-ghost though, so he's not really gone.
I'm mad that Palpatine was back though. Mostly because I lost a bet to my brother about it (and now owe him two dollars as a result), but also because they could have done so much with Snoke but instead he died and Palpatine appeared out of no where. It sorta made sense. He's the villain of the Skywalker Saga, but if he was always supposed to be the villain, they should have left Snoke our entirely.
Poor Ben. ;-; You will be missed.
I agree on the Snoke/Palpatine thing. Palpatine just came out of nowhere. I think the lack of continuity came from different directors on each movie (I mean, what if this last movie had the original director they planned on and not JJ Abrams? How much different would it be???) JJ Abrams basically had the story for The Rise of Skywalker rewritten. Idk, even George Lucas wasn't this confusing or conflicting lol, and imo he had plenty of conflicting parts. Anywho, I'll get off my soapbox now lol.
Indeed he will.
I agree. It didn't flow very smoothly. It was so sudden and didn't really make sense. It would have better, I think, if they had at least hinted at Palpatine returning in The Last Jedi but I suppose at that point I wouldn't have even been planned yet so... *shrugs* Oh well, it was still a pretty good movie overall.

Yeah I agree... they really should have planned it all out better xD It was a cool idea, it just fell a little flat. Yeah I agree, it was cool overall, and I didn't hate the movie.
I personally liked it. It does somewhat cheaply play with your emotions, but ultimately does a lot better at not 'smashing' off your favorite characters for once, and actually gives some of them interesting screentime and dilemmas without sacrificing them like the last two films did.
For me, it had steadily rising action, and a plethora of fun moments...
Up until the very end where they completely drop the ball.
{Spoilers} The two things I have the biggest gripes with are:
1. The knights of Ren do absolutely freaking nothing. And are not even remotely explained in any way.
2. Kylo Ren himself has his redemption made virtually pointless. He shows up next to Rey, and is literally blown into a bottomless pit where we are made to think he dies. Later only to crawl out to sacrifice his life force for Rey because, of course, we can't have the main character suffer a loss or deal with the consequences of any actions she took or any energy she needed to use. Can't have that. They even have the audacity to tease the possibility of them both living by having them kiss.
The ending itself feels like yet another spiteful spit in the face of the majority of the fanbase.
One could probably imagine how thematic it would have been, for example, if Rey's energy expenditure had actually led to her passing, and Ben then decided to properly take on the mantle as the next Skywalker... instead, we get to watch Rey appropriate the name for herself.
The entire trilogy is just... a lackluster, botched mess that was clearly done in a cynical manner. George Lucas was foolish to hand over his franchise to another studio, let alone such a large one.

This is pretty late (sorry) But I wanted to say I agree with a lot of your points. For example, #1... it was truly disappointing that the saga ended with no explanation of who they were, why they exist, etc.
Honestly I agree with all your points and I agree George Lucas should have been less focused on $$ if he really cared about the franchise and story.

Glad to hear this! I agree with you agreeing with me!
