Okie, now that I'd actually want to see happening. xD
See? Everyone wants to see it happen. I get it, Boba Fett is cool, but personally I think that would just be really unimaginative. I'd rather just see more new stuff like Mandalorian. If we really need more Boba Fett stuff, just give us stories about him between the PT and OT. I'm sure there are some already, but there must be room for more.
I totally get where you're coming from, I was late to the game with Clone Wars too. In fact I've just now started watching the final season today after a mad dash to get caught up over the last couple months. It's totally worth it.
I'm still stuck in Season 1 because I'm rewatching the entire MCU again (plus Harry Potter and LOTR very soon) and three other series, one of which I've actually just finished a while ago.
I mean, do whatever. You should have plenty of time to watch whatever you want these days.
Exactly. And they've managed to make Star Wars back into a strong and relevant brand, which is good for them. (Not that it ever wasn't a strong brand, but it's much more prominent now than it was for at least a decade before they bought it.)
Yeah, it definitely is stronger now. Not as many people were watching it anymore/it wasn't very cool anymore lol.
Yeah, I feel like if it hadn't been for the Disney takeover, Star Wars would probably have ended with The Clone Wars. Like there might still be some books, comics and video games but nothing major. Nothing that would extend the franchise's life the way Disney has. There wouldn't be nearly as many kids growing up now that would be interested in Star Wars, it would probably end with the early 2000's kids.
I really loved it as well! Those critics didn’t know what they were talking about.
But...
BEN SOLO.
I have never been so upset leaving a movie theatre as I was after Ben’s death. WHY??
I don’t get why the former villains have to die after they’ve been redeemed. (Aka, Vader, Snape, etc). I’ve always been a Rey and Kylo shipper (go, team Reylo!), and when they DID THE THING at the end, I freaked out. And then he died two seconds later.
So. Does anyone want to talk about the latest and last addition to the saga?
I personally really liked it.
Saaaaaaame. I can't remember the last time I was more upset about a character's death in a movie then I am about Ben's. At least he's a Force-ghost though, so he's not really gone.
I'm mad that Palpatine was back though. Mostly because I lost a bet to my brother about it (and now owe him two dollars as a result), but also because they could have done so much with Snoke but instead he died and Palpatine appeared out of no where. It sorta made sense. He's the villain of the Skywalker Saga, but if he was always supposed to be the villain, they should have left Snoke our entirely.

Does anyone else feel the same?
Ahhhh, finally a fellow shipper! Agreed on Rey and Ben.

Yep, exactly. I'm pretty sure if I went to public school my whole life (or when I was younger), I wouldn't care for Star Wars as much as I do, let alone care for it at all lol, so it was definitely dying out.

Yeah, but now its fate has been sealed as one of those generational brands that never dies out. ....... I say "one of those," but I can't really think of anything else that has had an equivalent impact on our culture. I'm sure there's something that could be compared with it, but nothing is really the same.

Yeah I agree. The only thing that might come close is the MCU, but we have yet to see how long the hype for that lasts. Idk, I kind of don't want to watch any more MCU movies after Endgame or Far From Home, so I think it is different than Star Wars.

Poor Ben. ;-; You will be missed.
I agree on the Snoke/Palpatine thing. Palpatine just came out of nowhere. I think the lack of continuity came from different directors on each movie (I mean, what if this last movie had the original director they planned on and not JJ Abrams? How much different would it be???) JJ Abrams basically had the story for The Rise of Skywalker rewritten. Idk, even George Lucas wasn't this confusing or conflicting lol, and imo he had plenty of conflicting parts. Anywho, I'll get off my soapbox now lol.

I have very mixed feelings on the future of the MCU, cause it had to end after Endgame or else there can never be a definitive ending at all. And it'll just go on forever. But I really liked Far From Home and I'm still excited to see what comes next. So.... *shrug*
But it's still not really the same as Star Wars because it's been going strong for over 10 years and hardly taken a breath. I mean, the current gap in MCU content is the longest there's been since 2009. Star Wars has developed a much different kind of generational fandom by releasing batches of movies decades apart.

Yeah same pretty much.
Ah yeah that's true. Star Wars is definitely more of a saga that crosses generations than the MCU. My mom doesn't like either, but she'd definitely know more about Star Wars.
