*snip* "Crazier things have happened." Said Jadyn grinning slightly. Zephyr stared directly into his amber eyes as she said. "I'm just, really glad you are ok..." She decided to show what she just said not just through words though. She suddenly found herself embracing him in a heartfelt hug. At first he seemed surprised by her bold gesture, but as soon as he had gotten over the surprise Zephyr felt him returning the hug as well. In that small moment there was a spark of hope. That maybe in the future they could always be there for each other. His warm yet light embrace seemed to chase away the cold. But all to soon they separated, and the hug was over.
*** "Jadyn wait. If you are going to gather more information about the pack you might want to find out more about the aurora minerals and the asteroid. The pack has files on it even. It all must be important if it's even in the prophecy. And if the prophecy is referring to the two of us we should definitely know more." "Okey, I'll look into it." He said. She let go of him and he started to walk away slowly. "And be safe... " She said adjusting her hold on the cat. Jadyn nodded and then after a wave in her direction he ran off into the dark woods that srounded the burnt village. A cold wind made Zephyr shiver as she stared at the place he had disappeared.
'K, this prophecy is definitely significant... gah, I hate that Jadyn has to go back, but his plan does kinda make sense... O_O
You're doing a really great job at keeping up the tension in the story, not to mention describing the rising intimacy between Zephyr and Jadyn. Please keep it up!! OwO

Cole sat at the table drinking his coffee. It was the early hours in the morning when it was still dark and the others were all still asleep. He liked this time of day. No one else was around so he could clear his head. Him and his friends had recovered quite a bit since Lloyd had brought his students to visit a few days ago. They weren't resting in bed quite as much, however they were nowhere near their full strength yet. The dark force which had infected the Dark Island so that travelers were endangered had caught the ninja's attention less than a year ago. They believed that the dark force was what remained of the Overlord's dark soul. To fully get rid of him they had had to fight him for months on the Dark Island. They had to make their elemental powers stronger than ever before. So strong in fact that they were warned that their own powers could likely destroy them. So they learned a way to transfer their elemental powers to someone else while they fought the darkness and then eventually as they made the final strike with the help of Lloyd, Nya, and Skylor, they fully passed the powers to the next master. It was strange, like Cole had given up apart of himself. He hadn't told anyone yet who he had passed his powers to, and that was because he didn't know who it was. Looking back on it, it seemed like more and more of an impractical and dumb choice. In his moment of his high power, in the moment he had to choose who would receive it, he sensed someone. Someone who was close to whoever got Jay's lightning, the one he believed was his long lost daughter. Once they were back to normal, or as normal as they could ever be again Jay said he intended to find the girl he thought he had seen. So Cole also intended to go looking for her friend. It made Cole uneasy that there were two inexperienced and unknown elemental masters out there somewhere in Ninjago.
But something in his gut told him he made the right choice. If anything, at least the master of lightning wouldn't be alone when she finally discovered she had an element. The master of earth would be able to be there for her, just as Cole and Jay had been like brothers to one another. Although, after hearing about Zane's vision, which he had told him in detail, Cole was worried for them. It sounded like a new enemy was about to step out of the shadows, one that was going to be harsh. He only hoped that Jay and him could find them before these new enemies did. They had to heal up fast before it was to late. Although he knew he could not rush such things. Cole had to do something though... Perhaps it was finally time to tell the other ninja about who he had passed his element to, they needed to know. Especially Lloyd, him and his students could look for them. Although he had no idea what they were up to, Lloyd hadn't sent an update since they had last seen them. He wondered how he and his students were fairng, surely, the enemies in Zane's vision hadn't risen to power yet.
Jadyn carefully made his way down the ravine as the sun was beginning to rise over the forest srounding the den. He had walked for what felt like hours to reach the den, stopping now and then for a rest. He couldn't remember the last time he had slept and hoped the pack members would just lock him up or something so he could finally get some rest. Maybe he should have returned with the team after all. No, he needed to find a way to stop Alpha and the pack, the future of many depended on it... Because of his uniform he entered the den without any trouble. He tried to make his way to either Zechariah's room or the cells, whichever he came across first. But he was suddenly stopped by a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see one of the wolf rank generals glaring at him. He spoke in a rough middle aged voice. "Why didn't you do as you were told? I thought I lost you last night. Do you have any idea how much trouble you caused? Well, at least you came back and it all worked out in the end... I still need to bring you to Alpha though." "Lead the way I guess..." Said Jadyn tierdly. He led Jadyn to the room Alpha always seemed to be in, leaving Jadyn in there alone. It was brighter then he'd seen the room before although it was still full of shadows. The tapestries hung on the walls depicting wolves and foxes and other designs. One of which he realized had aorura minerals and stars, and an asteroid streaking across the sky on its way to the ground. There was also a group of wolves with a fox in the center and a group of what appeared to be shadowy foxes with a majestic looking wolf in the center.
Jadyn walked up to the tapestry, he was about to reach out and touch it when a voice from behind him said. "Beautiful, isn't it?" He turned to see Alpha standing by the door. He closed it and walked over to Jadyn as he continued to speak. "It was actually made by one of the warriors who parished in the mine incident, such a pity. Psi, he was so quiet, usually kept to himself. Unlike many in the pack he was hard to read so I never knew much about him." Jadyn remembered that, it hadn't really occurred to who might have lost their life that day on the pack's side until then. "I'm sorry for your loss..." Said Jadyn, it was strange, saying that to his enemy. A man he actually still had a fear of, for different reasons then when he was young, yet a fear nonetheless. "It's only natural that you should be drawn to this tapestry. It is your fate after all..." Said Alpha. "And Zephyr's?" He asked as he dared to reach out and touch the wolf srounded by foxes. "It would seem so..." Said Alpha, then he added. "Now, the real reason we are having this conversation." Jadyn glanced at the pack's scarred leader. His one eye seemed to be examining him. Jadyn said nothing and Alpha continued. "You did not listen when you were told what to do, that was your first mistake. You attempted to stop us, that was your second. I was originally thinking if you violated these terms I would simply destroy you. However, I have found more than one use for you since you've arrived, and you are tolerable. So your punishment will be something more practical. "You will not get any food or water today or tomorrow, if you want to gather your own in the forest, go ahead, but none will be provided for you, not even by my son." "I understand..." Repiled Jadyn. It was only now that it was taken away that he realized how hungry and thirsty he really was. But he was greatful that Alpha had decided to spare his life yet again.
"Now..." said Alpha looking Jadyn in the eye for brief moment. "There's your third mistake. Which was probably unintentional, because I don't believe we have discussed this matter yet." "What matter?" Asked Jadyn. "The matter of your possible feelings towards my granddaughter..." Jadyn stiffened, that was almost the very last thing he had expected Alpha to say... Alpha continued. "Ah, so there is something there. I suspected as much." "How can you even say you know such things?" Asked Jadyn trying not to make eye contact with him. Alpha grinned. "I may only have one working eye, but I'm not blind to thses things. In fact I have eyes all over the place that all report to me. Did you really think you could trust a soul here?" Jadyn quickly realized he ment Calvin. "Apparently I did..." he repiled. "Anyways, doesn't matter how I know. Based on your reaction to me even suggesting it it's clear how you really feel. Also you can't deny that you two shared a moment last night in the ruins of the village. I have witnesses." "That was just a hug. There's no way she feels that way, right? Besides, why does it even matter at this-" He was cut off by Alpha laughing in what sounded to be sarcastic tone. "Why does it matter? Did you really just ask that? My, you aren't catching on to quickly, are you?" Alpha's face slowly became serious again and he continued, this time in a more serious tone. "It means everything, that's what. She has much wolf blood in her dispite her mother's side. When the world is finally safe for our kind again we will need to restore our race so that extinction is out of the question. So preferably, if she is to end up with anyone I would rather it be someone who also has some wolf blood. Or at the very least a normal human." Alpha was glaring at Jadyn now as he said, "Not some fox of an elemental master like you!" Right after he said that Jadyn felt a stinging pain across his face as Alpha slapped him with his bare hand.
Jadyn glared at Alpha and said. "It's up to Zephyr, what you would prefer isn't going to matter because she doesn't care for your cause. She doesn't respect you-" Alpha slapped him on the face again, harder then the one before it. He felt his nose running, it trickled down to his mouth. He wiped it off with his hand only to realize it was the same color as the red part of his uniform. Alpha spoke, more calmly this time. "Respect can be learned, but if not, no big deal. By that time that I speak of you will already be in the Departed Realm, and she will have to either choose another or none at all." Alpha stepped closer to Jadyn and said in a harsh whisper. "But in the meantime while you have a job to do, just remember this: If you do decide to confess, anything you have will be fleeting and most likely end in heartbreak. You wouldn't want to make her suffer like that, would you?" "It's you who would cause the suffering..." Jadyn spat. "You say my days are numbered as if there were no other option, yet you act like you have concerns about it... Besides, you still don't have any actual proof that I like her in that way, don't jump to conclusions based on small details." Alpha repiled. "Being Alpha for twenty seven years has allowed me to discover a unique talent of mine, and that is the ability to read people, decipher their motives and drives, their fears and insecurities, their honesty and bluffing... I can see the fear in your eyes every time I mention her. You no longer fear for your life like you did when you were a child. Now, I think you are more afraid of what she'll have to suffer because of my doing, and that you won't be able to prevent it like your father could." That statement hit close to home, far to close. "What are you trying to accomplish by telling me all this?!" Asked Jadyn. He fought himself to keep control of his temper, Alpha had taken it to far...
"What else did you expect me to do? I'm keeping you in line and reminding you of your place in a way I'm sure you won't forget. Now, unless you want me to use your fear against you, I suggest you do as you are told in the future..." Said Alpha smirking. "I think I understand well enough..." repiled Jadyn coldly. Alpha readjusted the cape draped over his shoulder and walked over to the door. "Good, let's keep it that way. I think we are done here. Oh, and you should clean that up, we like to keep the den free of filth such as that." With that Alpha left the room with and closed the door with a hard slam. Jadyn tried to cover his runing nose with his sleeve. He collapsed to his knees on the cold hard floor right under the tapestry. The exhaustion and stress was just so high he couldn't force himself to stand any longer. His teeth chattered from the cold and his head hurt terribly. His vision began to cloud over. He should have gotten rest, food and water by now, yet he had only been deprived of it, and tortured both physically and mentally. He began to fall forward and the last thing he remembered was his vision clouding over into darkness.
