Gravitation: The Fire Fox
Prologue

Run little fox... Don't become their prey.
Hide young fox... Stay hidden in the ranks.

Fight fire fox... Use your fire to your needs.
Stay secret, stay safe, stay alert...
Gather aurora lights... Learn to survive...
Wolf among strangers.... Fox among wolves...
That is your signs...
An asteroid will come.... victory strong with it...
Look to the stars so you don't miss it...
In outer space an asteroid flew through Ninjago's galaxy. It came passing through some space debris, a glowing bug who had been munching on a meal off some sort of material looked on at it as it past. The asteroid continued on into the distance. Many, many, many miles away, far from the view of the bug or asteroid was the planet of Ninjago. Green and blue and alive. The atmosphere keeping the planet from suffering the hard conditions of space and gravity keeping nearly everything grounded...

All Jadyn could see was darkness. But he could hear the shouts of warriors around him and smell the sweat on them. He could also feel them leading him, or in reality they were actually dragging him, it was hard to say since everything was a blur. Finally he was dumped on a cold hard surface. He tried to to make himself move, but his limbs felt paralyzed, not to mention his hands were tied. He could tell that someone else was set down next to him, but his blurred mind couldn't figure who at the moment. A voice from a little ways in front of Jadyn suddenly said. " Well well, who do we have here? Let them see me. " Jadyn was lifted to his knees and his blindfold was forcefully pulled off his face, ruffling his hair in the process. Jadyn glanced around. Being previously blindfolded ment that he could see everything in the dim room just fine. Zechariah was to his right in the same position Jadyn was, and there were wolf warriors holding and guarding them both along with a few others standing by. The room was large and made of stone, with tapestries on the walls and skylights above. Then Jadyn looked at the half burned face of the man who had spoken, he suddenly felt fearful as childhood memories and nightmares came back to him all at once. All he tried to forget came back to him and the memory was as clear as yesterday. The night when he had woken up and starred straight into the eyes of this man who stood here. He had had a knife, much like Zephyr's now that he thought about it, and he had been ready to send Jadyn to the departed realm. In what had felt like the very last moment Jadyn's father had rushed into the room and thrown a ball of fire at the man's face. And Jadyn had watched in horror as the man cried out as his face was ablaze... Then it had gotten worse, in the chaos some fire flew at Jadyn's own face, it wasn't as bad as it was the man who had attacked him, but to Jadyn, especially how young he was, it was the worst thing ever. The man had jumped out the window and ran off into the night. It had taken Jadyn hours to stop screaming, weeks to heal, and years to stop being afraid. The image of the man with the damaged face had haunted him ever since.

Everything seemed to scare him after that, what he used to be fine with would terrify him and he had moved to his parents bedroom for a time because otherwise he wouldn't sleep. In time he had gotten over most of the pointless fears and age had made him stronger and braver, but fire still bothered him for a long time, it was a direct reminded of the pain and fear he had suffered. It wasn't until he met Zephyr and agreed to face his fear that he actually embraced his element and put his fear of fire and the strange man in the past. He was still careful though, every time he used his element he thought about what he was doing, because he knew the pain it could cause. But now the man of his childhood nightmares was here, and he seemed to be the leader, that ment he was Alpha, Zephyr's grandfather...

Jadyn looked Alpha in the eye, it wasn't hard to believe this was the same man who had tried to smash him about thirteen years ago. Alpha turned his gaze to Zechariah. " My son, you have returned. " Said Alpha warmly. " Against my will. " Repiled Zechariah coldly. Alpha seemed to ignore his son's bitterness and said. " Later you'll have to tell what you've been up to for all these years. I understand you have a family now. A daughter who is not only a ninja but an elemental master, and quite a few other children from what I've been told. You will stay here where it is safe for you, your wife can live here and so can your children, I"ll give you all the finest living conditions I can offer. " Zechariah looked surprised by this, but then his face darkened and he asked. " But what about the other family members? You smashed Gravis, and what about Zephyr? " Jadyn was glad he asked, he was cerious about this as well. " Your other family members mean nothing to me now that I know who inherited gravity. However if they get in the way I will not hesitate to smash them. Zephyr is from pure wolf blood like you, she must live, we just need to make sure she is safe and under guidance. " " I will not let you carry out your plans father, you can't keep me here. " Said Zechariah. " You don't have choice my son, you will stay here until our glory is returned and the elemental masters are no more, with the exception of Zephyr of course. In the meantime I'm afraid I'll have to make a hard choice, it's for the best though... To keep you safe, so you learn... " Alpha picked up a club off the ground next to him, a grim look on his face. Jadyn wasn't sure what he was going to do until he walked over to Zechariah and hovered the club over his legs as several warriors held him down. " I'm sorry son, but you can't run away if you can't run. " And with that Alpha swung the club. In that moment though Jadyn looked away and tried to block out what was taking place a few feet away from him.
Once it was over Zechariah was gasping in pain and his legs were obviously damaged. Jadyn felt sickened. It made sense in cruel way though, if Alpha didn't want his son to leave because he was afraid he'd smash somehow if he did, breaking his legs would immobilize him long enough for the danger time to pass and for Alpha to convince Zechariah that he knew best. Now the question was: if Alpha had this planned for Zechariah, what did he intend to do with him? Alpha put down the club and then turned his attention to Jadyn, his grim expression slowly changing to a fond grin. " Now you, how ironic, you remember me, don't you? " Said Alpha slowly. Jadyn felt like he had just drank from the Toxic Bogs and then went on a roller coaster. He couldn't think straight, and although he screamed at herself to move in his head he couldn't move, or even force herself to talk to save his own life. Alpha didn't wait for him to reply, instead he must have read the terrified look on Jadyn's face. " So you do remember, I'm impressed considering how young you were. Let's see. " He suddenly picked Jadyn up by the neck of his red gi and lifted him him off the ground. Jadyn's legs still wouldn't move, so he hung limp in Alpha's grasp. Alpha was surprisingly strong, he used his free hand to brush aside some of Jadyn's red hair to reveal most of his scar. " I figured you would be scarred for life just like me. You know, I remember you most of the time when I look in mirror or anytime really that I'm reminded of how I was scarred that night, I imagine you probably remember me every time you remember your's too. It's ironic that it all ends today after triteen years of suffering and wishing I hadn't taken the time to wake you up first instead of finishing you while I had the chance. " " You did what?! " Zechariah gasped. " That's against the rules, it's inhumane. You aren't allowed to wake up your prey, why would you? " Alpha cast a glance at his son who was still on the floor a few feet away.
" I woke him up because I wanted him to experience what our ancestors did when the master of fire at the time lead the attack. " Said Alpha. " But that happened years ago, before any of us were even born. It's in the past! Leave it there and don't hurt a child because of it! " Shouted Zechariah. Alpha seemed to ignore him and pulled out a knife. Jadyn could actually feel his legs now and was trying to regain his standing so he could breathe better. Alpha held the knife close to Jadyn's throat. Jadyn closed his eyes, he wasn't going to smash looking at that face, sweat ran down his face and he tried to distract himself by thinking about his parents, his sister, the ninja, Sensei Lloyd, Moe, Nathan, Lisa, and Zephyr. " Father wait! Don't! "Shouted Zechariah. Jadyn opened his eyes just a little, he could see that Alpha had at least lowered the knife. " He's only a boy, about as old as some of my own children. He looks like a child to me, doesn't he to you too? " " Exactly. " Repiled Alpha. " He's young, not yet at his full potential and he's only started making trouble. If I get rid of him now he won't ever become like his father, a danger to the world. That was my thinking when I went after him the first time. There is no reason I shouldn't just end him now. " " Are you sure? " Asked Zechariah in a much calmer tone then just a moment ago. " What about the prophecy? " " What about the prophecy? " Asked Alpha letting go of Jadyn so that he fell to floor painfully with a groan. " Wolf among stangers, fox among wolves. Haven't you thought about what that means? " Said Zechariah, Jadyn was impressed he could do this much talking dispite both his legs just being broken. " What are you saying? " Asked Alpha. " What if he's the fox among wolves. " Said Zechariah boldly. "What if he can serve a purpose, what if he needs to be alive for the prophecy to happen. He could live among us for the sake of the prophecy. "
" I thought you didn't want the plan to succeed. " Said Alpha. " I don't, but I do believe prophecy is real and that's how I interpret it. Who else could it be? Maybe another elemental master, but then we'd just need another one here which would be pointless since this is the one you caught when you had the chance. " " But couldn't Zephyr be the elemental master? " Said Alpha. " No, because she is the wolf among stangers. " Said Zechariah. " But wouldn't the prophecy just happen by itself either way. " Said Alpha examing the symbols on his knife. " Of course, but if we miss this opportunity it may not happen for a long time. " " Gamma says the astroid is close, that we don't have much time. " " And why do you think that is? " Asked Zechariah, " The time hasn't been close until now, and the only things that have changed is the recent events of your encounters with the ninja team that my daughter is on and you finding us, I don't see that as a coincidence. There must be a connection, and even if there isn't wouldn't you rather be safe then sorry? " Alpha seemed to be thinking this all through, after a long moment he said. " I guess you have a point that the wolf and fox in the prophecy could be people. " " So you agree? He should live among the pack. " Said Zechariah in unreadable tone. Alpha was silent again for long while, he seemed to be thinking some more about it. Jadyn didn't dare move, especially since it seemed whatever choice was made would decide whether he'd smash or live another day. " Fine. But you are in charge of him when he's not on missions and you are to teach him our ways so he can function with us in the short time he is here. " Said Alpha finally. Jadyn couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. He wondered what Alpha ment by missions though. " Thank you father. " Said Zechariah. " I suppose it's the least I can do to convince you I'm capable of mercy. But remember not to get to attached to him. " Said Alpha.
Just then one of the warriors dared to speak up. " Are you sure this is wise? It goes against the ancestors laws in so many ways. " Alpha turned to him a prideful look on his face. " There are many things I've done that go against my ansectors rules. But rules can get outdated and I've done things that previous alphas never dreamed of. I'm going to bring back our glory, our rights and our land, preserve our bloodline. I'm going to do the same thing to elemental masters that they did to our ancestors and more. I will bring lasting balance to Ninjago that will be followed by peace. And I'm not afraid to use travelers tea, interrogations, prisoners or elemental masters to do it. It's ok if the people of Ninjago know the truth, they are finally ready, in fact the pack is ready to learn things that have been previously unknown to them. We will gather everyone for a meeting later tonight. Now, someone get a stretcher in here and take my son to the healer. Also, someone else, get me two fresh uniforms from downstairs, one with green and one with red. " With that most of the warriors standing by left. Alpha then leaned down and grabbed Jadyn's arm. Jadyn was worried at first but then he realized that Alpha was cutting the rope that bound his wrists together. It was a relief when the rope fell free and his blood was allowed to flow normally again. Jadyn carefully stood up and looked Alpha in the eye. The wolf warriors who had been holding him were standing by watching him like he was a wild animal that could go insane at any moment. " Take a knee. " Said Alpha. " Why? " Jadyn asked quietly. " Do you want to live and find out or not? " Still kind of fearing for his own life Jadyn did as he was told. " I Alpha Adolphus the alpha and master of the pack, proclaim you fox rank with the expectation that you do as you are told, treat the pack with respect, and that you will do the best of your ability to complete a task or duty when given. Jadyn, you are officially fox rank. "
