Oier manages to partially divert the blow, but is still injured. He stumbles for a second before attempting another, significantly less powerful, swing.
OOC: Still make another character, though, if you want. Maybe send him/her to the Lion Knights to help us keep things moving there.
Sanfor is on fire now, something seems to take over as he easily blocks the swing, grounding the sword into the dirt, and with a powerful chop, he knocks the weapon out of Oier's hand. He pauses then, to see what Oier will do.
OOC: Okay, I keep wondering if that's a good idea with my activity levels, but I guess both my characters will just move at the same sporadic speed.
Oier kneels and begins to raise his hands in surrender, but suddenly flings dirt at Sanfor's face and lunges to retrieve his sword.

OOC: That's okay. At least it's something.
Sanfor, coming from a desert, is very accustomed to this trick. There is no real way to counter it, but he does merely step back, allowing Oier to retrieve his weapon as he clears his vision properly. Mistakes are made when you're not in control of the situation.
OOC: Okay, I made a post over there, need to be caught up a bit, my grasp on what's going on over there is really shaky.

Still suffering from his wounds, Oier takes a wild swing at Sanfor's left side.
OOC: I've got you. I'll tag the other members as well so they can help.

Sanfor blocks, locking blades. He leans in. "I don't want to hurt you. That's what they want. What do you want?"
"I want to win!" Oier frees his blade and prepares for another swing.
With a sigh, Sanfor quickly smashes the pommel of his blade into Oier's face.
Oier crumples and is beaten. Looking around the practice grounds, Sanfor can see the other duels are wrapping up as well.
Alpida appears to have beaten Ximon some time ago and both are waiting at the side. Even without his legs, Bakar managed to put up an impressive fight against Hode, but the larger man won out in the end. Though Kemen could not stand against Garal, he kept trying to fight until he was physically exhausted. Alaia and Mitel were more evenly matched, and the sad-eyed woman just now seems to be overpowering her smaller opponent.
As they finish, the Black Knight speaks again. "You all fought well. I was impressed by what I saw. Alpida, Garal, Hode, Ximon, Kemen, and Oier, you will join me for dinner tonight. Someone will be brought in shortly to tend to all of your injuries." He leaves, and so does Alpida, after a couple minutes.

Sanfor really feels like helping Oier up, but resists the impulse. He retreats a bit into the mental shell he is forming.

After a few minutes, a lanky, balding man arrives and begins seeing to everyone's injuries. Bakar tells them to pay attention; they may need to know this skill.

Sanfor pays scant attention, more concentrated on his sword. He stares at it, running a finger along it. He's not used to this violence.

Once the healer is done, he leaves and Bakar resumes their training. "Alright, everyone gather up! I think it's time you all started learning some of the skills you'll need other than fighting. Always remember, your job is not to question, but to follow the Black Knight and protect him. However, you should be able to recognize when a plan is good and when it is not. And either way, you need to be able to improvise if a plan goes wrong and make your own plans to ensure the protection of the Black Knight and the completion of your task."

Sanfor is quite happy with this development, as he wasn't looking forward to mindless obedience.

For the rest of the afternoon, Bakar lectures them on strategy and problem-solving. When evening arrives, those chosen to dine with the Black Knight leave to do that and Bakar tells the rest they are dismissed for dinner as well, but he will be ensuring that those who need to finish digging do so.

Sanfor scrounges up some scraps from the kitchens. He then goes in search of a better shovel.
