I really don't know what to think of the Sensei-without-beard: he looks an awful lot like the FSM, since he's wearing Sensei's black robes but doesn't have the Wu face. If it is the FSM... well, I'll suspend judgment.
As for Nya and Cole, I think they both look fantastic. The new hood mold might take a little bit of getting used to, but I think it looks cool and is far superior to the two-piece hood introduced during The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Very interesting figures overall--I would like to see where exactly they're going with this....
(@the part about Wu) Actually, I think the person who took those photos just removed the beard piece so that we could see all of Wu's torso piece.
Though I guess I could be wrong, maybe Wu shaves his beard in the next season.

Minfigures of Pythor and Lasha have leaked! Some thoughts:
Pythor is purple again! This suggests to me that this is actually an evil clone of Pythor. I have a lot of other ideas on how these sets could be made relevant again, but I'll save that for when we see these sets.
He also still has the gaping mouth. Even an evil clone of Pythor is cursed to be stuck with a gaping mouth.
Lasha looks really weird. He looks like himself, but now he has this odd armour and some dark green spots on him for some reason. I'm not really impressed.

I just saw the pictures--I'm liking Pythor, and Lasha looks fine, I think, except for his face, which makes it looks like he got hit over the head or something.

More relevantly, this makes me think that these sets might just be sets, and won't have any actual storyline to back them up, since it would be pretty contrived to have Nya revert to Samurai X in-canon. We are getting four special episodes in the first half of 2019, though, and it would be a terrible marketing decision if the sets and the media released at the same time weren't related to each other at all....

Yeah, the appearance of new minifigures definitely implies a storyline to go with the sets. I just hope they figure out a way to make it not completely contrived. Considering how Day of the Departed went, I'm not holding out much hope....
As for the Kai minifigure: huh. It's okay. The simple design is decent and I like the dragon print, but the new hood doesn't look as good on him, in my opinion, and his gi evokes more of "chef" than "ninja" for me. =P

There could be some time travel involved with the First Spinjitzu Master if the Time Twins or the Iron Doom returned. Maybe if it was like the end of season 7, in which there's time travel, but nothing from the past gets changed. In fact, maybe the First Spinjitzu Master visiting the future would be what made him decide to split Ninjago in two instead of continuing to fight the Overlord and the Stone Army after returning to the past.

If it is an evil clone of Pythor, that's what they should've done in DOTD, IMO.
Perhaps Lasha got partially transformed by a mutagenic substance underground? It was implied in season 7 that the Serpentine had scattered throughout the underground after the Time Twins bred the Vermilion down there, and Lasha had been a scout for the Venomari, so maybe he scouted ahead and ran into something radioactive in the sewer.

I'd have to agree about Pixal when it comes to season 3, because it always annoys me when robots are able to love. However, they seemed to have toned that down in the more recent seasons. I also agree about Nya; I felt her becoming a ninja was forced, and it would've been cooler if she was a water Samurai.
As for the minifigures, I don't like that Zane has a black suit, unless that one is fake.

Welp, either the Ninjago storyline is going to have some strange, drastic changes next year, or the designers are messing around and we're just going to be a very confused bunch of teens -- or a little of both.
