Tommy Andreasen gave us a new reveal, and true to his word, it is a good one!
The crew loved the upcoming 4-episode special so much that to commemorate the 100th episode, they will edit it into a feature-length TV movie! Yes, those of you that were disappointed by The LEGO Ninjago Movie now have a brand new movie to look forward to! Also, we have more Ninjago content coming before that!
On a sadder note, the movie will be dedictated to Scott Godon-Decoteau, a crew member who unfortunately passed away in an accident last month. Before that, he was a driving force behind Skybound, Day of the Departed, and Hands of Time.
Hopefully, this movie will serve as a great ending to the Oni and Dragons arc, as well as the movie the series deserves. The LEGO Ninjago Movie didn't do that well, and many fans weren't impressed. Perhaps this can win them over.
I just saw that. What content is coming before, or did he just say there will be more?

A movie in the continuity of the TV show, set between seasons? Reminds me of Transformers: The Movie (1986). Okay, this is epic.
I'm sure there will be season 10 sets in summer. I'm just worried that the Oni won't be around then. It is possible that the four-part special will be later than I'm assuming. It's coming in the first half of 2019 and season 10 is going to air in the second half. Now that I think about it, there could be remake sets in January, four-part special sets in June, and season 10 sets in August, October, or December. It really depends on how early the four-part special releases, and how late season 10 releases.
Doesn't LEGO only do two waves each year? If there are sets based on the four-part special, they'll probably be included either in the remake sets wave or the season 10 wave (like how the second wave of Skybound sets was included in the DoTD wave).
Actually, LEGO releases sets in Winter, Spring, Early Summer, Late Summer, and Fall. Ninjago only gets 2 waves each year, but I could see LEGO releasing more than usual since 2019 will have so much content.

Didn't 2012 get three waves of Ninjago sets? I thought season 1 got two waves and season 2 got one wave that year. Or was the second season 1 wave part of the season 2 wave, since they were both really small waves?

Nice! (thinks about how TLNM is the reason why the ninja have those...designs... )
Oh, that's too bad. I liked all those seasons, with skybound being one of my favorite seasons!

Meh, I don't hate it as much as the others at least.
The only design I really hate is Jay's. I'm not a big fan of Zane's human design either. I like TLNM movie suits more than the old suits. They seem like the type of ninja suits some teenager in high school would draw when they're board in class.

You know what time it is! Yes, the Legacy sets have now been officialy revealed in high quality, and I love what I've seen.
Well, I don't love the Samurai Mech. It doesn't look nearly as bad as I was expecting, but it's just not as impressive as the original set. In fact, it doesn't even resemble the original set all that much, looking like a completely different mech. It does look good, and better than the mech from Killow vs Samurai X, but it really doesn't improve from the first one. However, it is a cheap way to get the new Samurai X minifigure and some Skulkin, so that does add some value to it.
The Golden Dragon is also smaller than the original set, but I actually really like the design. It looks very accurate to the original, even having a very similar head and having a similar shooting function, but it looks more interesting to me, for some reason. Not to mention, the minifigure selection is perfect. An exclusive Golden Ninja, an exclusive Overlord, and a Stone Warrior in just one cheap set. That is how you do a downscaled version of an older set.
I know that some people prefer the old Blade Cycle to the new one because it was bigger, but I prefer this one because I think it's better. It's less oversized and has a better, more interesting shape. The new Snowmobile has also grown on me a lot since I last saw it, and just like the Blade Cycle, improves on the original set.
Jay's Storm Fighter looks better than the original in every single way. It's sleeker, has a lot more detail, and even the transforming function is pulled off better than the original. Those first two things can actually be said for the Earth Driller, which does have a drilling function that's integrated very well. The Giant Stone Warrior looks a bit ugly to me, but I don't really like Giant Figs in general.
A certain Ultra Dragon hasn't shown up, but don't worry, it isn't fake. It turns out it's a Target exclusive. Anyway, since I'm running out of characters, I'll have to finish up in another post. To be concluded...

I just saw them. They're sort of...meh. Jay's Storm Fighter is definitely my favourite. I don't like the Samurai Mech. I don't like the Golden Dragon. I like Cole's Earth Driller. I like the Monastery. I like the Kai/Zane set as well.
The sets I was looking forward to the most have just been downgraded. They're definitely aimed at a younger audience (which I am not). The Golden Dragon is by far the biggest disappointment for me. It's smaller than the original (which was already too small for one of the biggest dragons in the show). It just seems like a bad idea to make a large dragon smaller so that the minifigure is half the size of it.
I absolutely love the new spinners. The tornado design works so much better than what we had before. The customization seems very interesting as well.
I'm curious as to what the qr codes will do. Usually it's some sort of a game but LEGO hasn't been big on games recently. I'm assuming it will grant access to the scene of the show the set is from.
Jay's Storm Fighter is definitely a HUGE improvement. It went from being one of my least favourite season 1 sets to my favourite Legacy set. Although I think the Ultra Dragon will change that.
It's too bad we couldn't get to see any images of the Ultra Dragon. It was my favourite season 1 set. When I first saw the early 2019 set list, I immediately knew i was going to get the Ultra Dragon. I hope it comes with the Great Devourer.
I think it would be cool if there was a Pilot set or two. I would have liked it if there was a $300 set combining almost all the first sets. Mabye there will be a second wave of remake sets to go along with the season 10 sets .
Overall, it's a good wave of sets. I just expected something more... "grand" for the celebration sets. I sort of hope that with every season of Ninjago there will be two waves of sets: one for the new season, one for an old season. 2014 was a good year of my life so the Rebooted is nostalgic for me. I would love it if they remade those sets along with season 11 (Especially because I wasn't actually able to get any sets).

I'm honestly not impressed by the monastery. It looks hollow and flat, like the original set. Kai's new blade cycle is "meh" to me, because it looks like a retool of Jay's desert lightning. I like Zane's snowmobile though. The giant stone warrior in the earth driller set would be perfect IMO, if not for the arms. I'll probably get the new Golden Dragon, since my copy of the original set has been burned to ash... I like the new Overlord minifigure, but I kinda wish he looked more like the possessed Garmadon, since the set is based on season 2, after all. I think LEGO could've recolored the crocodile head piece from Chima for the "dragon head" of possessed Garmadon, and also could've utilized the Wolverine claw pieces, perhaps even recoloring them in black. Oh well. I really like how Jay's storm fighter and the samurai mech look. I don't know why Pythor's arms are still black instead of purple though. This seems like a missed opportunity to make the original Pythor minifigure look more accurate to the TV show. The new spinners look very cool and show accurate, and the option to add accessories to them makes me wonder if there will be "accessory sets" with minifigures, like back in 2012. I hope so.
