Yes, you're right many (hopefully) would probably recognise that name of mine. No, I haven't, unfortunately. Any cool ones?
Yeah. They're upgrades of old sets, so if you're a fan of those you'll be a fan of these. Oh, and the new Spinjitzu Spinners are actual tornado shaped pieces.

Continuing from my last post here, the spinners are perfect for fans of the old ones who prefer them over the newer ones. They focus on customisation again, can battle against each other in competitions, and the new molds are very accurate to the Spinjitzu tornadoes in the show. The only disappointment is that they don't have exclusive ninja minifigures like the NRG forms, but it does give you a cheap way to get the ninja.
Everything has been said about the Monastery, so I won't talk about it any longer.
One thing I love about all of these sets is the box art. The Legacy title is a great way to acknowledge that these are remakes of old sets. The gold details make these sets feel really special for the 100th episode milestone. Having Kai on the box is just perfect since the first wave of Ninjago had him on the box. The boxes even show what seasons they come from and the backs of them have pictures from the TV show itself. Not to mention, the backgrounds have details that fans of the show would notice. For example, if you look closely at the box for the Golden Dragon, you'll notice that Lloyd and the Overlord are fighting on the same tower they fought on in the Season 2 finale. These are all the right choices for the box design.
Overall, I'm really impressed with this wave. Besides the fact that it has so much stuff from the older waves, the sets are incredibly well designed and, for the most part, improve on the original sets. I didn't like the Hands of Time and Sons of Garmadon waves, but this is a Ninjago Winter wave done right.

These sets really are impressive. Some of them don't seem quite as accurate to the show as they could be, like the original sets, but hey, I'll take it. They definitely capture that spunky, fun atmosphere the beginning of the series presented. I did notice that while Kai's face is on the boxes like the original sets, his face seems to be devoid of any scar -- neither the old one nor the new TLNM one. Not sure if that's a Mystaké mistake in design or if they think he'll look nicer and more kid-friendly without scars. Who knows. Different ninja being on the sides of different boxes looks cool, with Cole featured on the Earth Driller set, Golden Lloyd featured on the Golden Dragon set, and so-forth.
These sets look so good and nostalgic! Definitely the highlight of the year for OG fans!

Yeah, the boxed are amazing. What do you think the qr codes will be for? Mabye a clip of the show?

After some thinking, I've guessed that these sets will at least partially tie into the story. The Monastery will definitely appear in the story since we saw it in the SDCC sneak peek, so I could see the other sets appearing, and there will be some Ninjago content before the TV movie.
Since both the Golden Peaks and the Temple of Light are still intact, Wu could make some new Golden Weapons for the ninja. The new ones could be designed to strengthen the elemental powers of the ninja instead of giving it to them, and the ninja could use them to create any sort of old vehicle they want. Kai, Jay, and Zane will pick their 2012 vehicles, but Cole will go for the Earth Driller.
Lloyd did get his Green powers back in Season 9, so he could also get his Golden power back. However, he'll have to lose it again somehow, or else he would be so overpowered that every following season would be 2 minutes long. Lloyd could either sacrifice his power to defeat the Overlord once and for all, or maybe he would only be able to get the Golden power back for a brief time for some reason.
Nya being both Samurai X and the Water Ninja in the sets is a bit tricky, but I figured out a way to pull it off. You can see the entrance to the Samurai X Cave in the background of the Samurai Mech, so maybe she'll start using it again. Recalling her time as Samurai X, she'll briefly suit up in her old armour to fight off the villains. It makes a bit of sense, right?
In Season 2, the Overlord returned to power by shifting the balance in his favour. Garmadon conquering Ninjago must have shifted the balance in favour of evil, so I guess that it allowed the Overlord to reawaken from his slumber. Afterwards, he'll find out where the Golden Armour is, take it back, and use his power to create clones of past villains. Either that, or he'll travel to the Underworld and get the support of the Skulkin, brainwash the Serpentine, and go to the Dark Island to create new Stone Warriors.
I could see all of this being done in 2 episodes. Still, I'm not sure if these will tie into the story, but these aren't the only ideas I have...

If the sets are going to tie into the story, I really think the Oni are going to take the shape of the old villains. Another theory I have is that the movie will take place in the departed realm. In Hunted, Garmadon says he saw something in the departed realm that led him to destroying Ninjago City so that he would be strong enough to defeat "them". Then he tells Lloyd that "they" will come and it will all be over. Lloyd could decide to do something before "they" arrive. The ninja could eventually end up using the yin-yang medal to go into the departed realm, since that's where "they" are. "They" are clearly the Oni ("they" even translates to "Oni" in a different language). The ninja would encounter all the old villains in the departed realm, the Ultra Dragon, and mabye even the Golden Weapons. Eventually the ninja would encounter the Oni and use the Golden Weapons to briefly (since the Golden Weapons aren't as strong as the elemental blades) give Lloyd his golden power back. It makes sense to me.
Anybody here know how to watch the new seasons of ninjago? I still have not watched season 8. Or season 9. I have tried youtube, and that does not help. And I don't have hulu or Netflix, or any of that. Any tips would be helpful!
Tommy Andreasen gave us a new reveal, and true to his word, it is a good one!
The crew loved the upcoming 4-episode special so much that to commemorate the 100th episode, they will edit it into a feature-length TV movie! Yes, those of you that were disappointed by The LEGO Ninjago Movie now have a brand new movie to look forward to! Also, we have more Ninjago content coming before that!
On a sadder note, the movie will be dedictated to Scott Godon-Decoteau, a crew member who unfortunately passed away in an accident last month. Before that, he was a driving force behind Skybound, Day of the Departed, and Hands of Time.
Hopefully, this movie will serve as a great ending to the Oni and Dragons arc, as well as the movie the series deserves. The LEGO Ninjago Movie didn't do that well, and many fans weren't impressed. Perhaps this can win them over.
Nice! (thinks about how TLNM is the reason why the ninja have those...designs... )
Oh, that's too bad. I liked all those seasons, with skybound being one of my favorite seasons!

Personally, I'm not sure I like the idea of the story reliving so much of the first two seasons. It'd be like Day of the Departed all over again, bringing back old villains we've already used and whatnot. Still, if the story did go like that, a lot of this could be a good way to go about it. I guess I can see some of this happening, and if done right, it could be fun to see some of the old scenarios and outfits make a comeback.

Sorry, man. YT's always been the hotspot for new Ninjago episodes for me, and if you search in the right places early enough after they come, you can get some in surprisingly high definition. If anything, there are some obscure websites that show recent episodes, though they're hard to find and sometimes the episode is messed around with to the avoid copyright whiplash. :/

Some new pictures of Monastery Training have been released, and you can see why I didn't cover it earlier. It really isn't anything special, being a cheap set in the style of Spinjitzu Training, and it isn't even a remake of an old set. However, there are some interesting things about it.
Firstly, it has one of the weird spinning devices that appear in the other sets. It's a brick-built cylinder with a small platform that a minifigure can stand on, with a tire below it that can roll on the floor to make the figure spin. However, as weird as it is, I find it to be a very clever mechanism.
Secondly, this set has Nya as the Water Ninja, but she can put on some armour to become Samurai X...kind of. I predicted she would briefly suit up as Samurai X if these sets actually tie into the story, so maybe I was right?

I think they removed Kai's scar to make it more accurate, since he doesn't have the scar in the show.
I usually don't like downsizes of vehicles, but dragons are a different case. The new golden dragon looks like it would look great displayed next to the Ultimate Phoenix from LEGO Chima, Cole's dragon from 2016, and the ghost dragons from 2015. I think LEGO should release a whole series of dragon-type creatures around that scale.

It all looks small and simple, but at the same time a good addition to have to a Ninjago collection. I like the stand for Nya's Samurai X armor and the training dummy. ^.^ I feel like this set is a lot like one for TLNM, where they had Zane instead of Nya.
