Miakittymoon suddenly woke up. As she tried to regain her vision, she tried to remember what happened. She remembered talking to ColorfulEnchantingKazoo, but she didn’t know what happened afterwards. She figured she must’ve been knocked out some way.
When she fully regained sight, she observed she was tied to an office chair in a small conference room. Her chair was at the end of a long table and she tried to break free. But after she heard her name, she looked up and in front of her on the two sides of the long table was her previous Moderator colleagues, WhiteAlligator, Wildbunchz, catwizard, cicada646, StevensBike, IrrationalSeagull, and Koolkanin.
“Wow, it’s you! You’re all here!” MKM said with excitement. “Yeah, what happened? How did you end up here?” catwizard asked. “I tried to get help. I don’t know if it worked.” “Help? From who?”
Before MKM could reply, Koolkanin interrutped. “Wait! Don’t say who. What if ColorfulEnchantingKazoo is watching over us with hidden cameras and microphones?” “Good idea.” MKM replied, then she spoke again. “What happened with all of you?” “We just went on strike and we ended up here.” WhiteAlligator replied. “Makes sense, but what happened with the Designers, the rest of the employees, and the CEO?” “We have no idea. Did ColorfulEnchantingKazoo say anything about them?” “I think he said something along the lines of retiring them, to make way for more exciting features.” “Sounds like something we would say.” catwizard said.
All of a sudden, the conference room door burst open, and ColorfulEnchantingKazoo joined their conversation. “That is exactly something you would say.” “Well, why don’t you tell us where they are?” WhiteAlligator replied. “Why would I? You never told the fans about where the LEGO Message Boards went after they retired.”

Chapter 8: LEGO HQ, Part 1
Zach decided to accept the mission. He packed a week’s worth of clothes into a luggage, got on a plane and went to Denmark. He wasn’t sure how he was going to cover the cost of the plane ride, but he knew he had to go on. He held the Inside Tour Ticket and the Badge tightly in his hand.
It was early morning when he arrived in Billund, and eventually Zach reached the hotel, which was actually a LEGOLAND Denmark Resort Hotel. He checked into his room, which happened to be LEGO Friends themed. The room also included a complimentary bucket of bricks for guests to keep.
Zach had thought about sneaking around the LEGO HQ first, but instead he decided to go on the tour first just so he doesn’t get lost. He left the hotel and arrived at the first meeting place, the entrance of LEGO HQ.
When he got there, he saw a large group of people excited to visit LEGO HQ. He checked his watch and saw the minute hand hit the hour mark, and then a man in a business suit approached the crowd.
“Hello everyone, my name is Byron Nickel, and I will be your tour guide for today! We will visit many places, including the LEGO Factory, the LEGO Ideas Museum, and so much more! Tomorrow we will visit LEGOLAND and the new LEGO House!”
A man interrupted from the crowd. “Mr. Nickel, Will we get to see the LEGO design offices?” Mr. Nickel replied, “We will show you the door to it, but we can’t go inside. Don’t want to reveal any spoilers, don’t we.” The crowd let out a little chuckle, and then the tour began by putting on bright safety vests and overseeing the factory.
“As you see, the factory floor is completely automated. These molding machines take in the melted ABS plastic from those large vats and are injected into molds for all of your favorite pieces, which go into those bins. The factory floor is also completely automated, and these robots replaced the full bins of pieces with empty bins.” As Mr. Nickel Spoke, he pointed to all the different parts of the factory.
"How hot is the melted plastic?" Asked a fan. "They usually go up to nearly 105 degrees Celcius for kind of a toothpaste-like consistency." Mr. Nickel replied.

Chapter 8: LEGO HQ, Part 2
Zach thought it was interesting watching all the robots move around. He wondered if there were sensors on those robots to see if they could detect if there was a person in front of it. They went to the next room.
“Here is the LEGO Ideas Historical Museum. It is a historical museum with all of the important events of LEGO history. Take a look around.”
Zach was fascinated with all of the historical facts he saw. There was a large LEGO Timeline with the introduction of LEGO at it’s wooden era, LEGO moving into plastic toys, the system of the brick, and various LEGO themes. It was updated to 2018 including LEGO Boost and LEGO Life. Zach looked toward the area around the 2000’s where some of his favorite themes were. He figured the LEGO Message Boards would be on that timeline, but he couldn’t find it. Zach was going to ask why, but then the tour proceeded.
“Here is the door to the LEGO Design offices. Here, our hard-working LEGO Designers create the sets that go on shelves around the world. I’d love to bring you in there, but I can’t spoil anything for you.”
The door was closed and was completely solid with no windows. There was an ID card slot and a number pad. Zach took a glance at the ID badge from miakittymoon hidden in his pocket. He thought that card would work with the door, but he couldn’t test it in front of everyone on the tour.
The tour was about to conclude for the day and everyone was walking through a hallway to the exit. Zach looked around at some of the bright decorations and colored doors. He then spotted a door that caught his eye. It was labeled “Customer Service”. Then, the group left the LEGO HQ and went outside.
“Thank you all for joining us today. Tomorrow we will go to LEGOLAND and the new LEGO House! See you tomorrow!” Everyone clapped for today’s tour and headed back to their hotel rooms.
Zach headed back to his room and checked the time. It was almost dinnertime, and usually LEGO Employees leave before that. Zach got some dinner from the hotel’s cafe and go back to his room. He thought of a plan to infiltrate the LEGO HQ at night. He packed his backpack and left.

It was getting dark outside and most of the lights inside were already off. The main entrance of LEGO HQ was locked, but with the ID card, Zach got in easily.
He decided to go to the LEGO Design office to see if he could find anything about the designers or the mods, remembering where it was from the tour. He approached the solid door and slid the key card into the slot. The keypad lights were green and the door was unlocked. He thought he would have to enter a key code, but apparently the card was good enough.
He looked around at the dark, empty offices, and he took out a flashlight and turned it on. Immediately, he was amazed. It looked just like some of the pictures he had seen earlier, including the layout of the shelves, tables, chairs, and the multiple floors on the building. The space was large with a high ceiling and a bridge in the middle connecting two sides of the second floor. Drawers of LEGO pieces were all over the place. The beam of light from his flashlight shined on all the potential new LEGO products in progress. Among the walls was some whiteboards with lists of ideas for each theme, such as a Jar Jar Binks Brickheadz, the next round of Police and Fire sets for LEGO City, and story ideas of Lloyd dying in Season 12 of Ninjago.*
Toward the back of the space, Zach found the offices for digital products, which included LEGO Life and LEGO Boost. He found the hardware laboratory for developing LEGO Boost and he saw a few LEGO Boost hubs which were powered on. Zach had never played with LEGO Boost before, so he figured he would give it a try. He took out his smartphone, downloaded the LEGO Boost app, and connected it to one of the Boost hubs.
Zach connected some wheels to the output motors of the Boost hub and tried to make a simple two-wheeled vehicle. He programmed it to move straight and pressed the green arrow to make it move. Instead of moving, the LEGO Boost hub started releasing a lot of smoke.
“That’s not good.” He said.
--- *I would like to re-clarify that this was made up. I know nothing about future LEGO products or Ninjago spoilers for season 12.
Zach was afraid it would explode, and it did. Plastic shrapnel flew across the lab and hit Zach. Luckily he wasn’t hurt but he looked at what was left and saw a fried processor with a short-circuit.
“Well look at that, it’s just like my final exam question.” Zach decided to do something he never thought he would do. He took a few more LEGO Boost hubs and shoved it into his backpack. “I’m gonna analyze this later and see what’s going on.”
As Zach left the laboratory, he walked to the LEGO Life section. He looked through file cabinets and desks to see if he could find anything about the missing employees, or perhaps the LEGO Message Boards, but he found nothing.
“Hold it right there, who are you?” Yelled a man from across the room. Zach turned around to see a man with dark shades and a business suit. He looked like a guard for VIP people. “Um. I’m…” Zach had no idea what to say. “How did you get in here?” He shouted as he approached Zach face to face. “Um…” Zach still had no idea what to say.
“Hands up!” The guard pulled out a firearm and pointed it right between Zach’s eyes and Zach raised his hands high. This scared Zach for a bit, but upon close observation it was actually a replica made entirely out of LEGO pieces. Zach spoke first. “You’re pretty good at building LEGO models. Your gun was pretty convincing, I’ll admit that.” “Why thank you.” The guard said as he pointed the LEGO gun away from Zach and praise his building skills. “I built it myself. It’s my favorite LEGO crea-- OW!”
Zach stepped on the guard’s foot and the guard dropped his LEGO gun. Zach caught it in the air and smashed it on the guard’s head. The guard fell over in pain and the LEGO gun broke into pieces. “Sorry about that, but if you really worked for The LEGO Group, you would know they don’t do real life replicas of modern weapons.” Zach ran away and decided to escape. There was nothing he could find. Meanwhile, the guard, now holding onto his hurt head, spoke into his smartwatch. “The thief is getting away. Stop him!”
As Zach ran out of the digital section, he saw five other guards in front of him with their LEGO replica guns pointed at Zach.
Zach backed off and ran in the other direction. Even though he knew those guns can’t shoot, he didn’t want to face five guards all at once. Zach found a set of stairs up to the second level and he decided he would try to escape that way.
Eventually, Zach found himself on the bridgeway over the LEGO design offices, but another guard appeared on the other side of the bridge. Zach turned around and the five guards were on the other side. Zach was surrounded on both sides of the bridge and the guards slowly moved toward him. Zach leaned against the handrail and grabbed it with his left hand. He tried to grab the handrail with his right hand, but felt something else. When he saw it, he recognized it immediately.
“It’s the slide! I forgot there was a slide in the LEGO design office. See you later!”
Zach entered the slide and the guards were surprised. Zach appeared on the other side of the slide and the path to the exit was clear. The guards had taken the slide and were racing after him.
Zach stopped by a drawer full of LEGO 2x4 black bricks. He dumped it out on the floor as he ran toward the exit. As he ran, he heard some screams and wails of pain.
He looked back and saw that the guards had slipped and tripped on the LEGO pieces like banana peels.
“Haha, see you later!” Zach said as he exited the building and ran all the way back to his room in the LEGOLAND Hotel.
“Ok. I think that’s enough for now.” Zach said. He dropped his backpack, went to take a shower, and went to bed, excited to visit LEGOLAND and LEGO House the next day.

If they made that brickheadz, I might finally buy one.
“Sir, we have footage of a thief in the LEGO Design offices.” A guard spoke towards ColorfulEnchantingKazoo. “Show me.” He asked.
The guard opened a laptop and replayed the security camera feed. It clearly showed everything that Zach had done, including getting into the building, testing the exploding LEGO Boost Hubs, and fighting all the guards.
“I’ve seen this guy before,” ColorfulEnchantingKazoo chuckles. “You recognize him?” “Yes, very much.” “Shall we try to get him.” “Yes, find him, and bring him to me alive.” “Yes, sir. What will you do now?” “I have some business with my fellow mods.” He said in a deep voice as he left his office and went to the conference room with all of the captured mods.
