Chapter 5, Part 1: LEGO Inside Tour
Zach checked the mail every day for the next week just to see if that missing piece arrived. He was quite impatient because he had to wait until after his college classes were over for the day before he could check the mail, and sometimes it would run really late in the night.
He was very excited one day when the missing piece did arrive in a very large package from LEGO Customer Service. He was puzzled. He only ordered a missing piece, and yet the package was so big. He was also puzzled as to why his name and address on the box was written with a pen instead of a printed label. He brought it into his room and placed it on top of his desk. He opened the box and noticed a smaller box inside.
“What’s in here?” asked Zach to himself.
He opened the smaller box and initially it looked pretty empty, except for an envelope. He opened it up and inside was a ticket to the LEGO Inside Tour and a generic LEGO ID badge. He was quite surprised. He had always wanted to go to the LEGO Inside Tour where The LEGO Group tours people around the headquarters, the factory, LEGOLAND, and the new LEGO House. Zach didn’t purchase a ticket for the tour, but he now had one.
He looked inside the envelope again and inside was a handwritten letter that said,
“Dear zachcheung,
You should have figured out by now that the answers to the LEGO Friends conversation was about me, Miakittymoon from the LMBs. The reason why it took so long for me to respond back to you on the call earlier was because I was writing this letter.
We need your help. This is a secret mission just for you and you must not tell anyone else. Something has happened within The LEGO Group, including the disappearance of numerous LEGO Employees. Moderation on the galleries went down because the mods disappeared. The LEGO Group is forced to re-release old sets because the designers disappeared. I don’t know why this is happening and why people are disappearing, and I’m afraid I’ll be one of them if I don’t act quickly. It is extremely hard to tell who is an ally here, and that’s part of why I’ve chosen you."
Chapter 5, Part 2: LEGO Inside Tour The letter continued.
"I have chosen you for this mission because I recognized your username. I haven’t seen a user from the LMBs ever since they closed, and now you’re The LEGO Group’s last hope.
Take this ticket and use it for this year’s LEGO Inside Tour. The ID badge can get you into nearly any room of LEGO HQ, and don’t show it to anyone. For the days that you are on the tour, sneak into any place you need to find out who’s behind all this and what they’re planning to do. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me or the other employees, but I hope we will be able to take care of ourselves in the meantime.
Good luck, Zach. Sincerely, Miakittymoon.
P.S. I’ve also given you an exclusive LEGO minifigure that not even the hardcore LEGO fans would have..”
Zach looked inside the box some more and found the pieces for a minifigure, which included a blonde ponytail hair piece, a female smiley face, black pants, and a torso with the initials “MKM” written on the front and the LEGO logo on the back. It also included a Collectible Minifigures stand and one special accessory that Zach knew only MKM could have: a pink, fluffy, banhammer.
Zach thought about the situation for a very long time. He wondered if it was real, if it was fake, or if it was a trap. Clearly it had to have come from Miakittymoon. All the evidence was suggesting for him to accept this mission, but he was scared of what will happen if he does, or doesn’t.
Ah yeah, sorry about not uploading new parts. It's exam week at school and homework was getting busy. I'm also still deciding on some plot points in the next part of the story that I just need to check for consistency.
The next day, Zach was packing to go to his last day of class. It was the end of the school year and he just had one more final exam to go through. He packed his folders and his pencil case. He took another look at the letter and the ID badge, and he decided to pack them in his backpack so that he can really look at it closer when he was at school. He headed out of the house and locked the door. He tested the door knob to make sure it was locked.
His last final exam was about electronics. As he was preparing for his last final exam, he studied his notes the letter and the ID badge, just thinking about what could happen to him. Then the final exam started.
Toward the end of the testing period, he finished most of the questions and just had one more question left. The question asked about the electric current going through a resistor after adjusting the voltage of a power supply. Zach knew that having too much current going through a resistor would make the circuit burn, so he wrote down his answer, checked his work, and turned in the test. He went home afterwards hoping to relax now that all his final exams were complete and the school year was over.
When he came back home, he was shocked. The entrance of his house was blocked with yellow caution tape, the door handle had fallen out, and there were police in the house talking to his housemates. Clearly there had been a theft.
