What do you think they new SW animated series will be about? What era do you think it will be set in? Who will be the heros & who will be the villans?

My view on the new series is that like Rebels & CW it will be set between the movies acting as a bridge. An with the bridge between 2 & 3 along with 3 & 4 quickly filled up with comics,the shows an upcoming movies the big gap left to fill between films is the 30yrs between 6 & 7.
This is also the largest gap between any of the existing film trilogies. It could follow the fall of the empire and creation of the FO in more detail than the books aknowledging characters from books like SW Aftermath1-3,Shattered Empire,Princess Leia bloodlines & Lost Stars. For example Poe Damerons parents could be main characters from the shattered empire comic along with Lando who seems non existent in the new trilogy unless we find him running Canto Bight in 8.
It would be good to see wedge,general Madine and Wicket the ewok on screen again an seeing as it looks like they are going to make Rex that rebel commando on Endor in episode 6 perhaps it could follow him still, though he'll be pretty old. I always thought it would be cool if Rex met Luke & told him stories about his father during his retirement.
An old republic tv series seems unlikley as I always thought if they went back to that era that they would do a film trilogy perhaps based on Revan/Malak an the Manderlorian wars. There is also enough EU material there to slightly alter an create at least 2 or even 3 film trilogies spanning that era like the origin of the Jedi & Sith. So to put it straight I dont think an OR series will exist until they have made some films in that era to set the series between. A pre-Phantom menece series could work though or a dark times series set right after order66 although that period is quickly being covered in a new Vader comic.
There already is a "new" star wars cartoon its called star wars forces of Destiny

Also did you hear that Disney has just announced a live action SW TV series and a new standalone trilogy based around new characters in an unexplored part of the galaxy which will be overseen by Last Jedi director Rian Johnson?

I did not hear that.... that's... interesting to say the least. Don't know how to feel about live-action.... New characters? How many more do they need to focus on? Where's good 'ol Luke!

I don't think they will bring that back... But I heard they are making a live-action star wars series

I agree. But the series needs to be grittier like RO & CW and less classic Disney cliche like Rebels.

Too right. Rebels was okay in terms of season 2 like the confrontation between Ahsoka & Vader along with characters like Hera,Kanan and the Bendu but for me it just didnt fit well for the period which is meant to be dark an miserable hence Rogue One. Yes, I agree with the Ahsoka part (but I still stubbornly think that POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR ANYONE READING THIS () Disney had NO right to kill of Maul in such a discreet and sneaky way). I did like Bendu, and yes, everything was too gleeful, as if they were trying to replace Luke Leia and the main cast. Thanks, and glad you're intrigued by my profile It is a Thor's Hammer with Odin's two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, perched atop. The two ravens were said to fly all over the world and bring information back to Odin.

It could also showcase some bounty hunters and could feature Luke meeting Captain Rex and talking to him about Anakin (since it's badically confirmed that Rex survives at least up until to the Battle of Endor).

That would be interesting but I feel that they've covered allot of what goes on between episodes 5 &6 already in books and comics for the new canon especially for the main characters. I had the same idea about Luke meeting Rex too though I thought it would make more sense for him to meet him in a series set between episodes 6 & 7 straight before or after the battle of Endor.
