I propose a show set between Episodes 5 and 6 that bridges the gap smoothly, added extra explanations and characterization for Luke, Leia, and Lando like TCW did for the Prequel characters.
It could also showcase some bounty hunters and could feature Luke meeting Captain Rex and talking to him about Anakin (since it's badically confirmed that Rex survives at least up until to the Battle of Endor).
That would be interesting but I feel that they've covered allot of what goes on between episodes 5 &6 already in books and comics for the new canon especially for the main characters. I had the same idea about Luke meeting Rex too though I thought it would make more sense for him to meet him in a series set between episodes 6 & 7 straight before or after the battle of Endor.
Gree, what new canon media are you referring to? As far as I'm aware, there's currently only one junior novel about Leia between Episodes V and VI, and perhaps a couple short stories. Maybe you're thinking about the comics set between episodes IV and V?
Ignore everything I say, to the best of your ability.

Why between episodes 5 and 6?
Why between Episodes II and III? Why between Episodes III and IV?
So far, there hasn't really been a reason for the shows to exist, besides just being new Star Wars content.

Yeah sorry your right about there not being much material between 5 &6 but I think it makes sense for Luke to meet Rex after the battle of Endor an not before but it could work either way really.

You mean shows like Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels?
Yep. If they have ideas for a show, they should make the show, rather than thinking of a show that has a bigger purpose. Neither TCW or Rebels had any real reason for existing at the time they were made.

Hmmmm, does Rex know Anakin is Vader now?

But they turned out to be really good shows.
Yep, they did!
The Clone Wars was excellent and Rebels is pretty good as well.

I hope he does find out. Perhaps Ahoska will tell him if she reappears in S4 it would make an interesting plot point.
I've only seen the first few episodes of The clone wars so I wouldn't know what it is like. I haven't seen Rebels either but from what I heard they are both pretty good...

Jon Favreau has just been confirmed by Lucasfilm to be the executive producer of the new live action SW TV series due out on Disneys streaming service in 2019.
For anyone wandering who he is he directed Iron man 1&2 along with the recent live action jungle book film, played Pre Vizla in the CW tv show and is going to star as the for armed alien character in Solo a star wars story.
Hopefully the TV series will be based on the cancelled SW Underworld TV show about Boba Fett and co or be set in the order 66/dark times period.

I cannot wait for Disney's streaming service! We have Disney Life in the UK but seeing all the Star Wars movies all on one platform would be great...
No... no more animated stuff. They're gonna break the timeline even more, and then poor Pablo's gonna have to keep explaining away the studio's strange decisions
