Fall images are still a rumor, but summer sets are out everywhere, look them up, they're pretty cool.

There's nothing about summer sets out yet, only images for most winter Sons of Garmadon sets. Not sure what SSM is talking about.

I think he's just making it up.

Well I've just had an idea for villains: cursed fusion-masters. 

Explanation: They'd be humans who got their boats/ships/vehicles crashed into some place filled with evil energy (maybe the Dark Island), and instead of getting smashed, they got cursed; their bodies were fused together with the plants and spiky rocks from wherever they crashed, giving them monstrous forms.

Minifigures: Since they'd each have different rocks and plants fused with them in different ways, no two villains from the wave would look the same. For example, one would be a big-fig with a Venus fly trap for a hand, his axe fused with his other hand, and rocky, bulky legs. Another villain would have that ghost/djinn tail piece, but it would have new plant printing to make it look like his legs were turned into a plant-tail, and he'd have sharp, black, dagger-like rocks attached to each arm. The villains would maybe have samurai helmets made of rocks, with vines visibly growing throughout them. The color scheme for the minifigures would be black, brown and green; earth, rock, and plants. Although the plant and rock fusions would be seemingly permanent (unless the Ninja were able to "cure" the fusion-masters by the end of the season), they could also temporarily fuse themselves and their weapons with any inanimate objects, hence their title of fusion-masters. 

Vehicles/sets: Their vehicles would also be fused with the magic environment after crashing into it, and would have the same color scheme as the characters. They'd have ships, smaller boats, wheeled jungle vehicles, and maybe even mechs. Each vehicle would be shaped in a totally different way (having been distorted and morphed into mobile pieces of earth with plants growing out of them). 

Backstory: Remember those ninja soldiers in the background of the First Serpentine War who were dressed kind of like Ronin? I'm thinking that after the war, they were sent on an expedition to an uncharted, magic island (the Dark Island, or another) by Garmadon. Even with their vehicles, the soldiers were trapped on the island by the curse, until the events of Skybound, when Nadakhan ripped the island apart and into the sky, unknowingly allowing the fusion-masters to escape into the ocean. Jay's final wish wouldn't affect their escape, as their powers and literal connection with the realm itself would allow them to "stand the test of time" (just like Yang's temple).

Primary Antagonist: A writer of destiny from Cloud Kingdom. At some point, he'd become bitter and jealous of the beings from the other realms, who were able to live normal lives, choose their jobs, and fight (unlike him). His anger eventually drove him to write the idea into Garmadon's mind to send the soldiers to the island. Having implanted that idea in Garmadon, the evil destiny writer then rewrote the destinies of the soldiers on the expedition, cursing them into what they were. Many, many years later, he eventually figured out how to escape into Ninjago (through the mountain shortcut as seen in season 5). He'd have entered Ninjago during the events of Hands of Time (so this is a season 8 or 9 idea, I guess), only to discover that the humans he'd cursed and exiled had escaped from the island. Seeing this as an opportunity to conquer Ninjago, the evil writer revealed himself to the fusion-masters, told them that he cursed them, and told them that only he could turn them back to normal, but only if they worked for him. Therefore, the fusion-masters were forced to use their powers for him if they wanted to become normal humans again (so they'd definitely fit into the tragic villains category). 

Secondary Antagonists: The generals of the fusion-master army would be revealed to be—plot twist—Cole's real parents! Cole's father, the original master of earth, and his mother, one of the ninja soldiers, had led the expedition to the island, only to be cursed into fusion-master forms. After their disappearance, baby Cole had been adopted by his singer dad (I forgot his name). Because of this, and because of the fact that the villains are earthen/rock/plantlike, Cole would be the main character of the season. This would make for an emotional story, and by the end of the season, Cole and the other ninja would figure out a way to break the curse and turn Cole's parents and the other fusion-masters back to normal.
