" Did that really all happen? " Nathan asked in amazement. " So we've been told. " Said Lisa. " So it could be exaggerated? " Asked Nathan. " I believe every word of it. " Said Moe, " And maybe even more cool stuff happened that day the ninja didn't tell you guys. " " I doubt it. My dad likes to milk every detail. " Said Jadyn.
Once everyone was inside Skylor closed the door. The lighting was somewhat dim compared to bright outdoors and it took Zephyr a moment for her eyes to adjust. In the center of the room were four beds, with four people in them. Zephyr felt a lump in her throat. Four faces she had seen pictures of when they were more youthful, it was hard to believe it was the ninja, apart from being older it was obvious they were recovering from a hard fight, they had a few scars and their hair was unkempt. They were all sleeping soundly. The group watched the ninja in silence for a long cold moment, than Skylor said. " They wake up once or twice a day to eat and care for themselves, however it drains their energy fast. They won't mind though if we wake them up for this... We won't wake up Jay though, just in case Nya comes later, I know she doesn't want their son seeing him like this, but she was going to try really hard to find a sitter for him. I suggest those of you who don't have family here talk to Cole since none of his family or other friends are here or have plans to come. " Copic, Jadyn and Skylor gathered around Kai's bed. Lisa and Pixel were by Zane's bed. Sensei Lloyd, Nathan, Moe and Zephyr gathered around Cole's bed. Sensei gently sook the veteran earth ninja, he began to wake. " Ugh, Mathida, it's early... " He muttered and pulled his covers closer. Lloyd shook him a little harder. Cole opened an eye seeing the green ninja and the three younger ninja students. " Lloyd?.. Lloyd, you're back. " Said Cole tieredly, he glanced at Zephyr, Nathan and Moe one by one. " Are they the other students you were talking about? " " Yes. " repiled Sensei. Cole grinned and said. " Nice to meet you all finally. Could you tell me your names? " Moe repiled first grinning. " I'm Moe, master of speed, nephew of Griffin Turner. Nice to meet you. " Then Nathan introduced himself. " I'm Nathan, I lived in New Ouroboros before Sensei agreed to train me. " " I'm Zephyr, ninja of gravity. " Said Zephyr.

NFM, I swear to you, it took every once of self-discipline to keep myself from screeching out loud, because Mockingbird was working on math in the next room and I didn't want to break his concentration.

" Nice. " Said Cole. " What was it like being a ghost?" Asked Moe out of nowhere. " Moe. " Nathan whispered in a "you probably shouldn't be asking that " voice. Cole only smiled good naturedly though and said. " It was like... Being made of nothing, it was really hard to get used to doing things again and at times lonely... " " Oh, ok. " Said Moe. " So what's been happening with you? "Asked Cole. Lloyd explained how training was going and Moe, Nathan and Zephyr helped explain some of the stuff they'd been through so far. Cole would comment or ask a question now and then. After awhile Cole got out of bed to eat and use the rest room, he then stretched out for a bit and then went back to his bed. " As annoying as it is, time is best way for us to recover. But hopefully we'll be back on our feet by the time the next evil rises. " Said Cole. Zephyr glanced over at Zane and Kai who were also still awake, hopefully she'd get the chance to meet them and Jay someday. But for today it was neat that she at least got to meet the previous master of earth and black ninja. Suddenly something ocured to her though, who inherited his element? " Who inherited your element? " Zephyr asked. Cole looked as if he were thinking of how to answer that, then he grinned and said. " That's my little secret for now. " " He won't tell us either. " Said Sensei Lloyd. " Hey at least I'm not delusional like Jay. " Said Cole settling into his covers.

Ok, I finished writing the last chapter, it just needs some major editing along with the chapter before that, and than I need to work on the epoluge. Once I've gotten all that ready and posted I can start working on the second book.
" Yeah, that's true." Said Zephyr smiling just a little. Soon Zane was asleep and Lisa and Pixel joined them, they all talked and hung out for awhile longer until Sensei said they should be getting back. Copic, Moe, Nathan, Lisa, Jadyn, Zephyr and Sensei Lloyd said goodbye to Pixel and Skylor and got the travelers tea out of the backpacks. Zephyr took one last glance at Skylor and Pixel and the building the ninja were in as Sensei made the portal and shortly after they all walked through it. They were back in the garden now, it was hard to believe they had been so far away visiting the ninja only moments ago, it seemed like a dream of some kind now. They all went inside and had lunch. " So, will any of you be joining me at the celebration in Ninjago City tonight? " Asked Copic. " We had originally planned to stay here. " repiled Sensei sipping some juice. " But if you REALLY want to experience Day of the Departed at it's most excitement, Ninjago City is were it's at." Said Copic grinning. " Didn't you get covered in paint one year? And sick from to much candy another year? And end up on stage singing a song you made up that night in front of everyone another year? " Asked Lisa, smiling as she recalled each event. " Something seems to always happen to you on Day of the Departed, whether I'm there or not. " She added. " Yep, and this year it's going to be wining that costume contest, this year's costume of mine is going to make every other costume look like child's play." Said Copic. " What are you being? " Asked Nathan. " A werecat. " She replied proudly. " A werecat? " " Ya know I'd explain, but I gotta rush and it's kinda a long story." Copic left shortly after, no one came with her since the thought of possibly being attacked again didn't sound quite so appealing on this particular day.
Don't worry I'm not going to make a habit of the references, I just happen to have to two in the same chapter.
Later after the sun went down they lit lanterns to remember those who had past away. Zephyr silently thought of Gravis and her father's parents, she'd never met either of them, but she could at least light a lantern for them. Zephyr guessed that her friends probably were lighting their lanterns for their deceased family members, she couldn't help but wonder if Jadyn and Lisa were also remembering Jay and Nya's daughter. Sensei Lloyd told them he was lighting his lantern in remembrance of his parents and his uncle. The cold night air nipped at Zephyr's face and hands as she held her lantern in the back garden along with Jadyn, Lisa, Moe, Nathan and Sensei. In this moment all seemed as it should be despite the cold. Soon they decided to go inside, just as Zephyr was about to go in right after Sensei she heard Peak make a strange noise in the distance. Sensei turned around and said " I don't remember the last time I heard him make that noise... " " What does it mean? " Asked Zephyr. " It never means anything good, that's all I know. " repiled Sensei thoughtfully. " If you want I could go check on him real quick. " Offered Zephyr. " Go ahead, he might have just felt like being dramatic though. " Zephyr, still holding her lantern quickly walked through the garden, past the plants, trees and mini waterfalls. The aurora minerals lighting the path. The wind chilled her as it blew mildly. Just as she was coming up to where Peak's favorite spot was Peak himself flew up and into the air screeching so loud that Zephyr dropped her lantern and tried to shield her ears. " What is it Peak? " She shouted to the bird as he circled the air above the garden, his gray- blue feathers reflecting the light of the aurora minerals. The ravture then dived down and attacked one of the bushes with his shape talons. A scream could be heard from inside the bush and a man dressed like the warriors they kept encountering got thrown out into the open, at this several warriors jumped out of hiding. Peak attacked them as well.
