Lisa was smiling and seemed to be trying hard to hold back a laugh. Jadyn had obviously heard them discuss this before and was eyeing down the building. Nathan and Moe were standing back like Zephyr was and being quiet at the moment. Sensei then spoke up. " Skylor, Pixel, where is Ronin? " Oh yeah those were their names. Master of amber repiled. " He got bored two days after you left, he said he thought the job of guarding the ninja would be a lot more interesting because he thought everyone would be out to get them. He left the day after that, but don't worry, I don't think he'll sell the information of where the ninja are, I threatened him pretty good. " " Which I told you wasn't necessary since he hasn't betrayed us in years. " Said Pixel. Sensei Lloyd didn't look surprised by this at all, just a little annoyed. " I didn't expect him to stick around long, is it really that boring? " Skylor grinned and said. " Nah, we've gotten to catch up on a lot of movies." " And books. " added Pixel. " I assume you're also training to to stay shap. " Said Lloyd. " Of course we are. " Said Pixel. " So who all do we have here? " Asked Skylor gesturing toward Zephyr, Nathan and Moe. Zephyr was still freezing. " These are the students I was telling you about. Zephyr master of gravity, Moe master of speed, and Nathan. " repiled Sensei Lloyd. " Nice to meet you all. " Said Pixel. Skylor walked up the steps of the building and opened the door. " Let's go inside. Everyone can see the ninja..."
Once everyone was inside Skylor closed the door. The lighting was somewhat dim compared to bright outdoors and it took Zephyr a moment for her eyes to adjust. In the center of the room were four beds, with four people in them. Zephyr felt a lump in her throat. Four faces she had seen pictures of when they were more youthful, it was hard to believe it was the ninja, apart from being older it was obvious they were recovering from a hard fight, they had a few scars and their hair was unkempt. They were all sleeping soundly. The group watched the ninja in silence for a long cold moment, than Skylor said. " They wake up once or twice a day to eat and care for themselves, however it drains their energy fast. They won't mind though if we wake them up for this... We won't wake up Jay though, just in case Nya comes later, I know she doesn't want their son seeing him like this, but she was going to try really hard to find a sitter for him. I suggest those of you who don't have family here talk to Cole since none of his family or other friends are here or have plans to come. " Copic, Jadyn and Skylor gathered around Kai's bed. Lisa and Pixel were by Zane's bed. Sensei Lloyd, Nathan, Moe and Zephyr gathered around Cole's bed. Sensei gently sook the veteran earth ninja, he began to wake. " Ugh, Mathida, it's early... " He muttered and pulled his covers closer. Lloyd shook him a little harder. Cole opened an eye seeing the green ninja and the three younger ninja students. " Lloyd?.. Lloyd, you're back. " Said Cole tieredly, he glanced at Zephyr, Nathan and Moe one by one. " Are they the other students you were talking about? " " Yes. " repiled Sensei. Cole grinned and said. " Nice to meet you all finally. Could you tell me your names? " Moe repiled first grinning. " I'm Moe, master of speed, nephew of Griffin Turner. Nice to meet you. " Then Nathan introduced himself. " I'm Nathan, I lived in New Ouroboros before Sensei agreed to train me. " " I'm Zephyr, ninja of gravity. " Said Zephyr.
" Nice. " Said Cole. " What was it like being a ghost?" Asked Moe out of nowhere. " Moe. " Nathan whispered in a "you probably shouldn't be asking that " voice. Cole only smiled good naturedly though and said. " It was like... Being made of nothing, it was really hard to get used to doing things again and at times lonely... " " Oh, ok. " Said Moe. " So what's been happening with you? "Asked Cole. Lloyd explained how training was going and Moe, Nathan and Zephyr helped explain some of the stuff they'd been through so far. Cole would comment or ask a question now and then. After awhile Cole got out of bed to eat and use the rest room, he then stretched out for a bit and then went back to his bed. " As annoying as it is, time is best way for us to recover. But hopefully we'll be back on our feet by the time the next evil rises. " Said Cole. Zephyr glanced over at Zane and Kai who were also still awake, hopefully she'd get the chance to meet them and Jay someday. But for today it was neat that she at least got to meet the previous master of earth and black ninja. Suddenly something ocured to her though, who inherited his element? " Who inherited your element? " Zephyr asked. Cole looked as if he were thinking of how to answer that, then he grinned and said. " That's my little secret for now. " " He won't tell us either. " Said Sensei Lloyd. " Hey at least I'm not delusional like Jay. " Said Cole settling into his covers.
" What does he mean? " Zephyr asked Sensei. " Jay thinks he saw his daughter in a vision while he was defeating the dark force and giving up his element on the Dark Island. " repiled Sensei. " His daughter? " Asked Moe. " Jay and Nya had a young daughter who passed away years ago... " Explained Cole. Sensei Lloyd signed and said. " Lisa, Jadyn, Copic and her were playing by a river, she fell in and none of them could save her, there was no one watching them at the time since they had wondered off on their own. The three of them came back to us in tears and explained what happened. We searched down river but never found her. Jay claims he saw a girl in his vision who looked like an older version of her, however we're skeptical that she's still alive since wouldn't she have tried to find us? " " Unless she was physically or mentally unable to. The experience, if she survived it, could have changed her. " Commented Nathan. " I suppose that could be the case, still though, we shouldn't get our hopes up. " Said Sensei. Cole looked like he was starting to get sleepy and said. " Well, goodbye for now, it was a pleasure meeting you all. " And with that he went to sleep. Kai was already asleep and Zane seemed to be finishing up his conversation with Lisa. Skylor, Copic and Jadyn joined Sensei Lloyd, Zephyr, Moe and Nathan in middle of the room in front of the beds. The group began to talk among themselves. Zephyr hung on the edge of the crowd. Skylor came over near her. " Gravity huh? Did you know Gravis? " Asked Skylor. " No, he apparently passed before I was even born. " repiled Zephyr. " I was going to say, you don't seem to be much older than Jadyn. At least today is a day you can pay homage to Gravis. "
Zephyr opened her eyes slowly, the very dim light of the morning came through the window and cast a dim beam on the floor. The vision from the night before was still fresh in her mind. She rolled out of bed reluctantly and stretched. She walked over to the widow and looked out at the garden, a thin layer of frost covered the rocks and plants. She suddenly remembered what today was, Day of the Departed. She had previously only celebrated it with her family in Hiroshi's Labyrinth where they'd light lanterns to remember those who had past and enjoy some treats as well. She had no idea how most people celebrated it though. She got changed into her normal blue ninja gi and went out her door. Zephyr joined the other students in morning exercise in silence. They all had a quick breakfast, Moe and Nathan were talking loudly about some of the scariest things that had happened to them on past Day of the Departeds. Each seemingly trying to top each other's most recent tail. Lisa and Jadyn would throw in comments now than, sometimes mentioning what their previous Day of the Departed celebrations were like with the ninja. Eventually the conversation shifted to Lisa and Jadyn explaining actually crazy stuff that had happened to them on Day of the Departed. But what was the craziest story of all was when Lisa told the story of how Cole ninja of earth went from ghost to human after facing the ghost of Sensei Yang and his students, and how the ninja had to face the ghosts of old enemies long before any of them were born.
" Did that really all happen? " Nathan asked in amazement. " So we've been told. " Said Lisa. " So it could be exaggerated? " Asked Nathan. " I believe every word of it. " Said Moe, " And maybe even more cool stuff happened that day the ninja didn't tell you guys. " " I doubt it. My dad likes to milk every detail. " Said Jadyn.
** Once they had reached the building two people came out to them. One had sliver hair styled kinda like Zephyr's and white skin, ( if that's what you'd even call it ), she was also wearing a navy blue gi. The other had red hair, like actual red where in comparison Jadyn's appeared more orange, and she wore a gi that was yellow-orange in color. Both their faces brightened when they saw the group. Lisa went up and hugged the woman with sliver hair. The woman in yellow-orange gi embraced Jadyn, Copic stood by watching the woman and her younger brother. Their mothers, Zephyr realized quickly. Then that ment this was master of amber, and the android who always helped the ninja. Zephyr tried to remember their names, but without success. The master of amber whispered something to Jadyn a look of concern on her face, Jadyn must have said something though since her face quickly turned to that of relief as she released him and turned to Copic. ***
