Why not have a showdown? You and me. Tomorrow at noon. If the loser survives he'll never be allowed to set foot on land this side of the Colorado.
Leaning back, Miss. Sydna scratches her head. Glancing back at her acting troupe, she begins to murmur to herself before turning back to face Elijah, fumbling with a button on her dress shirt."Uh, can't really. I'll be needed in the town next over, which of course wouldn't be fitting of your proposal. And-" Looking up, she smiles while tilting her hat. "That wouldn't be fitting of a sheriff, would it? Picking on a simple band of magicians." She pulls a long strand of handkerchiefs out of her sleeve, and forms a lasso. Her troupe applauds.
OOC: Lego minifigs in a western settting...
IC: Suddenly, the sound of a loud projectile causes everyone to duck. A raspy voice breaks the silence.
"A showdown, is it? Well ain't that to my fancy, rookie."
Sydna looks at the tall withered man responsible and greets him warmly. "Ah! A lover of pratical effects, drama, intrigue? " Extending a hand, she is immediately met with a second shot. Touching the side of her arm, she slowly turns back to Elijah and her troupe and raises her hand, quite annoyed at her predicament. "Oh great, it's a real weapon." Throwing a nasty stare, she begins to scold the man. "You know I could have you sued for this? Let me see your prop, give it here." She continues to berate him, much to his confusion, while her other hand forms numbers.
In the background, the townspeople begin to whisper among themselves.
"What is she doing?"
"She giving old Texas Red a what for."
"And live? Why as I live and breathe..."
Walking back to her troupe, she lifts up a projectile while holding back a sob. "It's real...this...this is real."
One of the bandana men tries to control himself, wiping a tear with his handkerchief. "What are we going to do?"
The Child's hands begin to shake as his lip quivers. "We're not going to get paid, that's for sure. *sniff*"
The Withered Man begins to chuckle. Snarling at the townsfolk, he reveals a set of yellowed teeth and roars out, "You all call this place a Fort? It's nothing but a nursery full of crying babies! Ha HA!" Slapping his knee, he points to Elijah. "There ain't nothing for you in this town, so I'd reckon you'd best be leaving, HA, Sheriff! Ha, HA, HA!"
Unable to control herself any further, Miss. Sydna raises her hands in the air and cries. "We surrender, here! Take everything we owe ya! Here!" She throws the projectile straight back at him, knocking his claw hand clean off.
A loud gasp echoes through the crowd. The Withered Man, or Texas Red as they called him, stoops down and retrieves his claw hand while growling.

*To Miss. Sydna:* If only you were nothing but magicians. *Turns to face Texas Red:* Hey, Tex. I reckon you should stay away from the town of Agua Fria. *Winks and plays Marty Robbins' "Big Iron"*

Sydna's eyes grow wide and she throws up her hands loudly exclaiming, "Finally something we can do!" Turning around, she raises her hands like that of a conducter and taps her foot. "One, two and a three!"
The Bandana Men & The Child begin to sing in tune while acting out the lyrics of the song. Carelessly waving the weapon around, she sings the final line and as she bows, the weapon is aimed at Texas Red and goes off.
He reels before falling backwards.
Immediately standing upright, Sydna frantically looks around at the gasping crowd before looking behind her. Dropping the weapon as if it were a venomous viper, she wipes her hands on her jacket and coughs out of embaressment. "Ah well, um, yes, uhhhh."
The Child walks over to their wagon and replaces the "1 Day Without Accidents" sign with a "0".

This heat must be messin' with my mind.
The Child walks up to Elijah and offers him a jug of water. Sitting on a rock, the Child places his hand underneath his chin and sighs. "Yeah. I didn't think I'd be saving a town anytime soon. Or being bitten by a rattlesnake." He raises his right foot, which was now swollen. "Eh, I'll walk it off. Where's the pizza place around here?"

"Nah, pizza the cure for everything." The Child waddles over to the general store and asks for a meat-supreme. He then falls over the counter unconscious.
Acting as if nothing happened, Sydna offers Elijah a sarsaparilla. "I say, this is one of our best performaces to date! What next, Sheriff?"
Behind her two of her crew are playing with Texas Red's hat and inspecting his wallet.

I'd say it's lunchtime.
Dropping everything, all of Sydna's crew head over to the local saloon for a happy feast.
Facing the saloon as if watching with a vengeful glare, the hat of Texas Red sat upon the sand undisturbed.
A shadow shields it from sunlight as the scabbed hand of an unknown being quietly picks it up...
