*The Sheriff knows he's in danger.* We can negotiate.
The Friend quickly comes to Elijah's defense. "Sheriff, we thought you'd be needing help in arresting this crook, and I'm mighty glad we did." He aims his weapon at the Injured Figure's head, and following his example the rest of the Bandana Men followed suit.
The Injured Figure merely smirks. "Watch your back—Lawman." Performing a sleight of hand, she purposefully drops a small object onto the ground that immediately crackles to mimic the sound of weapon fire. Filling up the room with thick smoke, the Bandana Men frantically duck and one of the members loudly shouts. "It's an ambush! We're surrounded!"
Pulling a second weapon from her back, the Injured Figure moves quickly and takes the frightened child from his hiding spot to a door in the back of the General Store. Being the first to notice he had been fooled, the Friend begins firing in that direction. He hollers to his men, but the chaos of the scene mixed with the loud crackling prevents him from being heard.
He grabs Elijah out of the way of random weapon-fire from one of his men, and leaves him behind a shelf. Catching his breath, he looks to the Sheriff for guidance. "The culprit is fleeing through the back door, we can't delay any further."
Saddle up and don't give up 'til they're either leaking lead or across the Pecos. Preferably the former. *Saddles up. Cocks revolvers and rifle. Chases the culprit.*

Placing the child in a weathered cart, the Injured Figure motions for silence before whispering to him a command. Pulling a few tattered costumes out of a box, she hands them to the child. "Take what you will and escape through the backdoor. Should have enough of a disguise to fool the gang from discovering you." Turning around, she tips her hat. "And try to stay above snakes..."
Running into the streets, the Injured Figure flips a coin to the owner of a horse and jumps on. Petting the startled steed momentarily, she leads it to Elijah and gives chase.

*Elijah mounts his buckskin.* What a fine hoss you got there. But, I know Denver would like some action. *Pats Denver.* *Kicks and rides away.*

Rearing her horse, the Injured Figure rides in front of Elijah in an attempt to stop him from leaving. "Running away from trouble, lawman?" She reels back in pain and nearly falls off her mount as the sound of weapon fire causes onlookers to flee in fear.
The Friend lowers his weapon, blowing away smoke from its barrel. Calming his steed, he leads his horse next to Elijah's. "Good work Sheriff! Luring out the criminal and stalling 'em enough for the calvery to arrive!"
Breathing hard, the Injured Figure clutches her shoulder. Leaning forward on her horse for support, she kicks it roughly. Letting out a loud neigh, the horse runs off with its rider.

*Points gun at the Injured Figure's head.* Don't ya dare move a muscle unless ya wanna be coyotes' dinner. You are under arrest.

The Injured Figure grabs tightly onto her horse's mane, while raising her other hand. "I ask no adds, lawman, but if I am to run among the willows for the sake of another, so be it." She raises her head to meet the eyes of The Friend. Glaring at him with full fury, The Friend becomes uneasy.
He chuckles while wiping sweat from his chin. "The sun's left her crazy in the head!"
"Your all down but nine, lawman...the bandana—The BANDANA!" She shifts her focus to Elijah.

The Injured Figure grits her teeth. Flicking her wrist, she holds a hidden smoke bomb and is about to release it until the loud shouts of a frighten child cause all three to stand still.
Running towards them was the child rescued from the general store.
Tears streamed down his face as he stood between both Elijah and the Injured Figure. Looking innocently up at Elijah, he swallows a large tear before continuing. "Don't hurt er'! Don't shoot!" Holding up a torn bandana, he points at the Friend. "My daddy didn't pay up. He left on a buisness trip and hasn't come back, so the tall men tore up the store instead."
The Friend looks at the child in shock, stuttering with his words. "Silly kid. I-"
The Injured Figure readies her weapon and aims it at the Friend's head while grasping her shoulder with her other hand. She growls a threat in a raspy tone. "Acknowledge the corn, outlaw..."

*Quickly draws and shoots the Injured Figure's shooting hand.*
The Injured Figure draws her hand back, the bullet merely grazing her hand. "Very well then. You've thrown your lot in with them, go figure." Looking at the kid, she tips her hat. "Sorry, but I didn't come here for a battle." Throwing him a playing card, she looks back up at Elijah. "I pity the town that has you for a sheriff. I-"
Suddenly the Injured Figure is hit with multiple weaponfire, the projectiles finding their mark on her back and chest. With their weapons now empty, the Bandana Men emerge from their hiding places to inspect their handiwork. The Child covers his eyes, not daring to look at his friend who remained standing there--- motionless. Wiping sweat from his brow, The Friend laughs with scorn. "So this is your end. Hmph."
Slowly raising her head, the Injured Figure narrows her gaze. The Friend recoils back in fear.
"But, how? You were-"
To the shock of everyone watching, the Injured Figure removes a metal sheet from underneath her poncho. Smiling, she performs a bit of stage magic and smoke envelopes around her.
Charging through the thick smoke, the Friend waves his hands at the spot. As the smoke clears, he roars out in anger. "She's gone!"
Holding the playing card, the Child looks up at Elijah.

*Looks at the playing card.* Stage magic and playing card, yet we're a long way from Vegas.

"And that's why we brought the show to you!"
The Friend, along with the rest of the Bandana Men lower their weapons and perform a bow.
Poking her head out from a wooden barrel, the Injured Figure throws a goofy smile as she removes her bandage.
Joining the rest of the troupe, the Child salutes to Elijah. "Thanks for playing, though a bit more grit the next time your faced with a gang of outlaws, though that just my opinion."
The townspeople slowly pour out of their hiding places, expressing confusion and doubtful of the troupe's innocence.
Sensing their frustration, the Injured Figure raises her hands. "Ey, we heard that General Store was up for remodeling anyhow, and, it appears that this town could've used some action besides the usual tumbleweed passing."
Pointing to Elijah, she continues. "In addition, we've found you guys a new Sheriff! Isn't that exciting?" She follows this up with a round of applause. "Yes, yes, though one could say those projectiles of yours were a bit of a hazard."
Lowering her hat, the Injured Figure bows. "Miss. Sydna if you wish to mark that down in the papers." She scratches her head. "Though, I'm not sure if this town even owns a paper. Guess I'll have to look for that too."

Why not have a showdown? You and me. Tomorrow at noon. If the loser survives he'll never be allowed to set foot on land this side of the Colorado.

Leaning back, Miss. Sydna scratches her head. Glancing back at her acting troupe, she begins to murmur to herself before turning back to face Elijah, fumbling with a button on her dress shirt."Uh, can't really. I'll be needed in the town next over, which of course wouldn't be fitting of your proposal. And-" Looking up, she smiles while tilting her hat. "That wouldn't be fitting of a sheriff, would it? Picking on a simple band of magicians." She pulls a long strand of handkerchiefs out of her sleeve, and forms a lasso. Her troupe applauds.
