I like Colors from what I've played, but I don't like that you have to use A to jump and B to boost when playing on the Wii pro controller, did they forget the Y button exists or something?
Gamecube is the master controller anyways.
I would use the GC controller if the cord on mine wasn't so dang short!
I was talking about a style similar to Tyson Hesse.
Perhaps there is just a new style that is even better than adventure that just hasn’t been made yet! But it would really be simpler to just go back to it’s roots.
Or, they could design level segments with the intention that the player goes super fast, maybe having a load of new dash panels?
I would really love to see all the moddern VAs replacing all the old ones, if only just to see an exact comparison to the originals.
You mean it isn’t?
We can certainly hope
I was making a joke about how when Sonic tries something it always gets compared to another existing product, especially a Mario one. e.g. Lost World being overly compared to Galaxy.
...You mean the Lost World Style? okay I'm actually kind of not joking that was a criminally underrated game
That's kind of what I was thinking too, though Shadow needs a VA closer to his original pretty soon, the current one is just a biiiit too sinister in my very personal opinion.
I mean, strictly speaking, since the interruption arose from botched dubbing, and the interruption doesn't exist in the game's original Japanese translation, it's safe to say that Sonic did not canonically interrupt Shadow. Also, if I remember correctly, they sooort of fixed the cutscene in the HD edition.
Oh, lost world was NOTHING like galaxy...
...Galaxy was actually a good game!
Wait, really? I hated Lost world with a passion when I played it. What do you think is good? I want to see your side.
I never really paid attention to the VAs. Though I do prefer the modern Eggman voice.

To me... Lost World quite simply had... actual platforming. You would think about what you did carefully... you would *navigate* levels using a variety of different techniques and approaches as the situation demanded them... and, without boost, the risk of running into an enemy was always present unless you spin-dashed.
While I would concede the game was indeed somewhat slow, that issue could be fixed by reimplementing the automatic acceleration that is present in earlier Sonic titles, and raising Sonic's max speed... and, oh hey! You practically have an adventure game all of a sudden!
That's my personal view on it. It allowed for proper control of sonic for what felt like the first time, and had interesting levels that demanded thought and turning not only in the 2D but the 3D space.

You raise intresting points. Maybe I should play it again.
