So, here's a selection of various questions we need to have answered. This isn't a formal poll, just to provoke thoughts:
1. Should we have a no lightsaber/forcepower rule?
2. Do we have a hyperspace system?
3. How many planets should we have? Do we want as many as in the more recent galaxy map, or fewer?
4. Who wants to be in what HQs/What factions will we have?
5. What businesses should we have?
6. How much focus should we have on character story/Do we introduce new factions/forces as we go to spice things up?
7. IMPORTANT: Are we basing this on the EU or the new canon?
1. No, I think we should have the means to counter them.
2. I don't know, but we should have one.
3. Have a handful more.
4. The Empire is nice.
5. I daresay that we shouldn't have too many. If they are joined together in topics, then as many as you want.
6. I think we should have a bit more stuff.
7. I think Legends should be fine. It offers more data on weapons and ships, although there are a few weird things. Perhaps FAC should also process Legends material?
1. If there’s isn’t any then the Galactic Civil War shouldn’t happen because it was caused by a Sith Lord.

SW OS RP guidelines
HQs and Business topics will no longer be attackable. Instead, all battles will take place in Planet topics.
There will be between 20 and 30 Planet topics, initially owned by their canon factions.
The goal of the roleplay will be for the factions to attack each other's planets, whilst defending their own.
If a planet which has an associated business is captured, the business does not change hands, but instead has to produce products for the conquoring faction, if they so wish.
Each faction gets a monthly income, based on the number of planets they control.
Movement between planets will be determined by their location in the galaxy.
If you want to go from one planet to another in the same sector, you can go there instantaneously, without having to wait to post your actions there (exactly like it is at the moment).
If you want to go from one planet to another in an adjacent sector, you must make a post saying you are travelling there, and wait a couple of Mod Cycles (a day, pretty much)
before continuing.
You CANNOT travel diagonally between sectors. Instead, you must travel to a planet in an adjacent sector first, and then continue on to your destination - waiting a couple of Mod
Cycles AT EACH PLANET.
You will know what sector a planet is in by a code in its title, relating to a position on the map.
Contesting a planet.
To contest a planet, you need to have troops on the planet, and have a clearly marked base. You need to wait a week from the construction of your base for the planet to be contested. This self-regulates the number of troops you need on a planet, because if you have too few, the defenders will be able to wipe them out before the planet is contested. A base can be anything from a ring of crates, a landed Acclamator, or a regular building.
Spawning forces
You can spawn forces from the Black Market or other planetless companies to any planet that you have a presence, or your allies have a presence. You can not spawn forces immediately into a battle.
Ships under 399 meters can be refueled at any planet.
Only planets with shipyard businesses can refuel ships larger than 399 meters.

As you can see, there were various other smaller factions at the time, that we might to to eliminate in our new RP. Oh, and we had a no lightsaber/forcepower rule at the time, which e may or may not want to have here.
Oh, and I couldn't find an explanation of the hyperspace travel system, and, to be honest, I don't really remember it. Coffey, do you remember, or should I do some more digging to
see if I can find the rules? Though, honestly, the fuel system was the one thing I thought took the RP to far into complexity.
Well, what do we do with this, then?
Well here’s what I remember based on the planets position you were allowed to instant travel to any planet in the same sector, and you could only travel to adjacent sectors which would take 24 hours to do so. You can’t travvel diagonally. That’s about it we aren’t doing refueling that’s just dumb
4. Too bad. They’re mine.
1. For now with the small amount of role players we have I say we don’t allow it until later when we can get maybe 10+ active people. That way it’s not like everyone is going to be trying to be a Jedi or with.
2. As far as I know no, but we should implement the old one without the refuling
3. I say that we give everyone three planets and major factions 5 (with everyone under major faction 1) and from there we move on. Individual factions get 3 planets and possibly a shipyard or something
4. I’d like to start my Crimson Empire again and control Essenes bogden and bilbringi
5. Damorian, KDY, Rothana, Blastech, Black Market, Golan arms, the list goes on...
6. I thinks that we should be able to do some IC events and storylines and everyone makes up their own story that can intertwine with other people but I’d like some new factions that maybe everyone could ontrol (like my own)
7. I voted Legends it gives us a lot more weapons and ships and it won’t be a rebels vs imperials battle then.

I would like to post my two i switch to from now and then, for the most part I’ll stay with one but if my story calls for it I’ll switch.
name: Sirius Drysso
height: 6’ 4”
Build: Muscular but thin
Hair: Jet Black
eyes: Red
uniform: Heavy Mark IV Radiant Shadow Assault armor
weapons: Commando variant XM-33 Asssault weapon
backstory: Siri’s was a normal person with a normal life, however one on random day he was met by a “god” who offered him and his three friends immortality in exchange for their services. The gods name was only known by “The Designer” and he had a grand scheme, Sirius and his friends went through immense t4aining for years prepping to fight a war they ewre wonky told about, time was relative now. The Designer gave all of them a special weapon for the war they were about to wage, they were going to find and destroy any and all other gods, they were going to invade other worlds and free them from the oppressive grips of those “gods.”
however to slay a god god you need a special weapon. So the Designer gave each of them a sword, something so powerful and so deadly it contained the power of an entire universe trapped within, this raw power was the only thing to be able to take down an immortal being for good.
So so with the weapons the four friends embraked on many different quests taking over many different universes and galaxies waging an infinite war on infinite worlds. The four friends were given two others made by the Designer to accompany them on their journies, they were sisters, made in the cold confines of a laboratory. Raynare And Takeo Lafaye. With these two additions the team was complete and after many years of fighting and war they had taken all but a handful of back water universes that were deemed unworthy.
however it was at this time that the group realized the truth of the matter, they had stripped every world of their natural defenses and in doing so they paved the way for the greatest regain of all time. While the group thought they were doing good they were instead only doing harm. The Designer used them to take over all the known universes.
after realizing this they attempted to overthrow the Designer but they failed miserably, he had made 5em who they were he could easily unmake them. He was the Designer, and thus he designed. He banished them all to separate universes with Sirus and Raynare ending up in this one.
Now Sirus attempts to try and broker peace with all factions in a bid to try and start a rebellion against the Designer and try and overthrow him one last time. For that to happen he needs a fleet, comrades, and allies but in a galaxy so blinded by war the likelihood of that is slim, unless perhaps someone were to take over the galaxy and force unification...?
Using my secret arts, I have conjured up memories of the old RP rules.

I'm glad we agree about refueling. I didn't like it as I thought it hampered the RP to much, and was one to many things to keep track of.
4. Too bad. They’re mine.
1. But most of it was fought by normal people.
4. Multiple people can be on the same side, you know.
1. Maybe. Some force powers might be acceptable if it isn't OP.
2. In the sense of waiting to travel between planets, yes, but in the sense of refueling, no. That's to much to keep track of.
3. As many as other people want, I suppose.
4. I'd like to be in the Empire, or perhaps lead the Empire of the Hand, but I could fill in for the Rebellion of necessary.
5. Oh boy... Kuat, Rothana, Sienar, Damorian, Loronar, Blastech, Golan Arms, Sorsuub, maybe Hoersch-Kessel, Correllian Engineering, Incom Corporation, Mon Cal Shipyards, Cygnus Spaceworks, and probably others. Either we'll have to figure out some way to condense things, or have people in charge of multiple businesses.
6. I think the focus should be on strategy/tactics, but It's always more enjoyable if people make up their own story lines as we go, and we could introduce new factions/story elements in the sense of setting them up and running, then letting thigns happen naturally from there.
7. I'd vote EU/legends, as it's my preference and has more information in general, and much of the New Canon is just copying the EU without the detail, though I suppose we could go with the New Canon primarily and use Legends for extra information as long as it doesn't contradict.
As it stands, essentially, you can only move vertically and horizontally between sectors, not vertically. Within a sector, you can travel between planets instantly, between sectors, you make a post saying you're going somewhere, and then wait 24 hours, then arrive.
That's very good, But I have a question: Should we also make it be that you have to wait a day at planets? For example, as the rules stand, if you wanted to go from the core to the outer rim, you'd post that your leaving the core, 24 hours later arrive in the Mid Rim. Then, you could at once make another post heading for the Outer rim, and 24 hours later, arrive.
If you also had to wait a day at planets, you would go somewhere, arrive in 24 hours, wait 24 hours, post that you're going to another sector, wait 24 more hours, then arrive. 48 hours vs 72 (roughly, anyway. it doesn't have to be exact.
Or is that just too much And I'm overthinking this?
Here is a list of all the businesses we had in the Old RP:
The Black Market
Trilon Inc.
Corellian Shipyards
Kuat Drive Yards
Damorian manufacturing Corporation.
Rothan Heavy Engineering
Rendili StarDrive
Blastech Industries
Mon Cal Shipyards
Mandalmoters
Sienar Fleet Systems
Incom Corporations
Imperial Department of Military Research
Black Ops technologies
Taim and Bak
Golan Arms
Baktoid Armor Worksop
Gungan tech corp
Sorusuub Corporation
Goliath Science Works
Taggeco.
Transgalmeg industries.
Droid Building lab.
Merr-Munitions Inc.
Arakd Industries
Aratech Industries.
Hoersch Kessel Drive Incorporated.
Cygnus Spaceworks.
Blaster Shop
Fondor Shipyards
Slayn and Corpil
Yutrane Trackata
Ubrikkian Industries
Yaga Minor Shipyards
This might not actually be anything, but that was the point when it started fading int the topics from before we codified the rules and various credit/planet/travel systems, and so there were doubled topics, etc. Oh, and the Archive started giving out.
Anyway, as you can see, we covered pretty much everything(With the exception of Gallofree Yards Inc.), so there just a few more business than he number of players we currently have.
The good news is, some of these were fanon topics, so we don't need those, We Yaga Minor as it was just an imperial shipyard, not a business, and having just shipyards directly controlled by HQs, while realistic, might defeat the point of having businesses. Fondor doesn't really seem to have any products of it's own. Trilon inc has one, insignificant product. We don't need Gungan tech corp for obvious reasons. A lot of them are minor and have few products, so could be owned by users with larger industries.
I think we should wait for HQs allegiances to be sorted out before we start claiming business, though.

By the way, I'm sorry if anyone feels like I'm stepping on their toes here, by suddenly appearing and posting all these rules. I don't want to dominate the discussion here, I'm just trying to see if we can get this off the ground.

Bobby you're good lol, us dinosaurs are the last of our kind lol, we are one of the few who remember the old ways. Now I suggest that firstly we should decide what planets we have, I say that Major Factions, (like Empire Rebellion and maybe pirates) all get 5 planets to start with. any other player wanting to have their own faction can get 3 planets to start with and a shipyard, It should be noted that every faction should have one main shipyard that they can buy from to help in reducing costs. so a set up for a small factiuon would look like this
so with this format we can slice up the galaxy and set everyone to their respective areas and draw the lines of war. Now what i'm thinking is that we also have planets that have no one on them for the sake of it but they are planets that have to have specific objectives met before you can capture them, this would be something like a requirement so they can't be taken over completely without anyone to stop you, it'd be a race to see who could do those requirements first. this would sorta give objectives for some and turn people away from oter planets just cause it might be too hard to deal with.
Now the objectives could be something like (build a base, have 200 turrets at least, you must have your ally or fellow officer have a small expeditionary force on the planet) once these requirements are met you could start collecting income every month. However I suggest we wait on this till next reboot
First i say everyone builds a template of their factions they're choosing, once we do that you post your factions HQ topic and then the respective planets that you own. so for me it'd go like this
Crimson Empire HQ
Esseles 1M Bogden 1M Bilbringi 1M
and we'd post the planets from the map and since we have a list it shouldn't be too hard however I suggest that each faction start in one sector and not move out to get a foothold and an unfair advantage at the start of the game.
Also I do say that we adjust some of the credits we receive each month that way it'll help with the smaller factions being able to stand up to the larger ones.
So capital planets get say 500,000,000 credits a month while every other one gets 250,00,000 a month and that would be the format for smaller factions (large factions would be the same but the money would be cut up between the 5 planets to equal the same amount as the small ones maybe?
Esseles 1M Bogden 1M Bilbringi 1M

lets talk about this
Thanks Goatman!
I feel like maybe the Empire should have at least 1 more planet than the Rebellion, as it was more powerful by numbers at the time, and might face other anti Empire factions. In the LMB RP it was 8 Empire, 7 Rebellion. I also feel like the major factions maybe should have more planets compared to the Minor factions than that. So, if it was about 5 for major factions, 3 for minor might be too much, but not if the major have more. But, we can also customize for each faction, given its circumstances.
That format looks good, but we really need to know what factions we'll have. I might like the Empire of the Han,d but it wasn't really active at this time, and considering that other people want to join the Empire, I might lead the Rebellion this time. (Which would be hilarious, as I'd have no idea what I would be doing. )
That idea of objective's sounds very good. It would allow us to really make each planet different.
I don't think the idea of giving large factions less money is good, for several reasons: 1. They are the major factions, and should have a slight advantage, 2. The Empire and Rebellion are pretty much required by unwritten RP law to be at constant war, while the smaller factions have more flexibility, and 3. The larger factions also have more territory. and 4. It would get far to confusing when planets start be conquered and changing hands. I think the planet cash system should be about the same as it was, though those new amounts of 500 and 250 sound good.
4. Too bad. They’re mine.
1. It was asked if we should prohibit the force. I replied that no.
4. You know that factions can have other members, right?
