Lego life shuts down Ninjago retires Chima returns making fans jump up to the ceiling and back down again City may still run Lego pays nintendo $100 dollars asking them to make lego Mario and Pokemon Lego Thomas the tank engine comes back A new theme is introduced called lego town
Hum... I think LEGO will continue videogames they started to do.
The bricks could have specials connectors and screens, so you'll be able to create electronic "simple" things in the future, like phones, small computers,...
Power functions elements will be more little and more added to new models
I think in theory LEGO will try to keep the brock and build concept, but adapt it to the actual time, like they did from today with new videogames, Dimensions,...
They will try some experiences and see if it's enough interesting to their customers and fans to invest money in (Like they did for MMORPG, movies,...)

On the subject of video games, what if LEGO Digital Designer could make fully working games? That would just be brilliant.
I also like the idea of making computers with LEGO. They've already introduced LEGO electronics and computers with Power Functions and Mindstorms.
LEGO will likely rely entirely on licensed products in the future, having failed to come out with a good BIONICLE reboot, not to mention that Ninjago, in a fit of hypocrisy on LEGO's part, will likely last longer than BIONICLE EVER did.
Technically, Bionicle lasted for 12 years, so if Ninjago lived longer, LEGO would nearly run out of ideas.

Lego has long since abandoned it's original life and spirit in favor of a genius business model that will allow them to live forever. In further detail, Lego will most likely be bought out by Disney and work the same way Marvel and Star Wars did after their buyout. I would think Lego will continue to create their three-year long themes. Lego is planning on making the bricks out of pants by 2020 I believe, so that will negate any concerns about plastic one may have. One thing we can definitely count on is the money hungry execs bringing back old themes to give people like us some nostalgic reasons to return to Lego.

Not only have they lost their original life and spirit -- even their business model sucks
Any business model under which the LMBs and galleries had to be shut down in favor of an app with LESS functionality than what was already available is a terrible business model.
