I am one of those of the opinion that Peter Jackson made WONDERFUL renditions of Tolkien's works (at least LOTR), and when I watch those movies, I can never suppress tears at the end of the Two Towers, as Sam speaks to Frodo about the Great Stories, and the Ents flood Isengard, and Eomer's riders flood down the slopes into the sea of Uruks. The combination of PJ's cinematography, Howard Shore's fantastic composition, Sean Astin's acting, and Tolkien's words, all wrapped into one, makes it such a special moment!

I would agree with you on LotR, I love that rendition, but the length makes it difficult to watch them often I love the charge of Aragorn at the Black Gate and how Merry and Pippin follow him
One mod to rule them all and in the darkness ban them - Lord of the Mods "I am the Mod Reborn!" - masterlegobuilders I'm the real boss

Sam speaking with Frodo is one of the most inspiring things ever, IMHO

Agreed! I am anything but emotional, yet that scene gets me every time

The lotr movies are my favorite movies of all time. Yet they aren't nearly as good as the books.

Yep, completely agree with you The movies aren't much worse than the books though.

There's still some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for!

Honestly, I..........might.......like the...movies...better. LotR and Jurassic Park are the only things I would ever dare say that about, but it might be true.... please don't hate.

I can see why. Its just they left out one of my favorite characters (imrahil) and Dol Amroth, and left out the scouring of the shire, which was my favorite chapter. The movies are amazing, I just like the books a bit more. Some things the movies did better IMO and some things the books did better.

I'm currently in the middle of rewatching the movies and I must say there are a lot of inaccuracies I hadn't taken much note of before, i.e. Faramir being a jerk and the elves coming to Helm's Deep. Frodo sending Sam down the mountain is a change I feel actually adds more depth to Sam's character and his and Frodo's relationship, so I actually kind of approve of that one.
