*gasp!* [incert_stormtrooper_traitor_gif_] Actually I find myself using/attempting to use an American accent every so often. Accents are quite fascinating.
I guess it is, depending on the region.
I find it super fascinating to hear British people do American accents. Because since I naturally have this accent I can't wrap my head around how I would change my vowels and such to match it if I didn't speak this way already. Even though I'm pretty good at accents in general, I have no concept of what it would be like to imitate my own. I also just find it very amusing to hear it imitated.
I recently found out that Dom Monaghan (the actor who played Merry) can do a very good and amusing American accent. XD
It is indeed. It's incredibly interesting how many layers there are to an accent, not just the general way of speaking, but the tone, emphasis, pronunciation and choice of words too.
Yes, also Elijah Wood (Frodo) and Sean Astin (Sam) did pretty good English and rural/Yorkshire accents in LOTR, though in the first movie they did seem to slip up a few times, which is only natural.
I gotta hear a British person do an American accent. I mean, it's actually kind of obvious but I've never heard a of a non-American doing an American accent...you only ever hear people doing British accents.
I thought it was quite common for Brits to do American accents.
To an American like me, that is unfathomable. In America we do British accents. How do you even do an American accent?

Really?! I never thought it was that big of a deal. Lol, I'd like to hear some LMB users do a British accent. xD Idk, you just attempt to do it. Hugh Laurie and Tom Holland did fairly good American accents, but then being British IDK how American they sound from the US perspective.

I guess it's just a perspective thing. I know that Paul McCartney can't do an American accent.

Yeah I guess it is. WhAt Do YoU mEaN!? ):< Yeah I mean, I can agree with that. xD

I guess it's different depending on what side of the pond you live on.

Yeah, a British person doing an American accent is like having a flavored chip and then washing all the "flavor dust'' off.
Yeah. I think British accents are great. I understand why an American would do a British accent because they sound really good, but an English person doing an American accent just seems weird because the American accent seems so bland to an American like me.

I suppose it sounds bland to you (as you probs hear Americans accents 99% of the time ) but I'd say the American accent is pretty interesting, especially the more south you go, for instance, the Texan accent, which is rather colourful imo.

You know that Paul's first wife was American and yet she developed a British accent somehow as the years went by?
Really? I never knew that. I guess if you hear an accent all day everyday you begin to pick pronunciations and vocabulary up, resulting in the adoption of said country's accent.
