Today was the Star Wars Rebels panel at Star Wars Celebration, and we got tons of epic news! First and foremost, Season 4 will have 15 episodes and be the last season of Rebels.
{JAMMERS! } Ezra and Sabine riding some sort of wolf, Ezra with a jet pack and a painted scout trooper helmet, Lots of Mandalorean battles, Hera in red Rebel gear, TIE Defenders, Sabine rallying Mandalorean troops with the Darksaber, Bo Katan with the DarkSaber, A Deathtrooper, Sabine's hair (which has some sort of orange tint), an Imperial Probe Droid, X-WINGS, And my favorite of alll...
Rebel Kallus, who looks ABSOLUTELY amazing!
And that isn't even half of what there was! What did you see in the trailer that you found the most interesting, and what are your predictions for Season 4?

There was also a U-wing.
And rebel Kallus looks so much like General Draven.
Also, Rukh is returning from Legends!
Ignore everything I say, to the best of your ability.

Oh right, and the Imperial Hovertank from Rogue One.
I honestly hope Kallus decides to change his name to turn away from his imperial past or something and actually be Draven.
I never followed Legends, but I had read up on his character earlier and he seems cool!

{JAMMERS! -SPOILER!} Ashoka being alive is real? I was pretty certain she didn't die. Though it does show Vader to be quite emotionally weak to spare her. But I guess that just adds to his eventual restoration.

{JAMMERS!} I doubt he let her go. She could have escaped, we're not sure exactly what happened after the Phantom left. Ashoka might be in some sort of spirit form or be that wolf from the trailer.

Just watched the new trailer. You could be right. I'd prefer my original thoughts though. Ashoka was like Anakin' sister; she meant the world to him. I guess it wouldn't be too far fetched if he subconsciously let her off a lil' lightly. Or even tried to convert her.
What do you think is going to happen in season 4? Lots of people talking about the use of past tense in regards to the crew, but the whole of Star Wars is past tense. It all happened a long, long time ago. I see no need for them to all die. The galaxy is a huge place, it makes sense that you don't see everyone from the previous movies.
We at least know that Hera and Chopper survive to 1BBY-ish and as I said before, the others could still be alive well into the ABY years. Ashoka wasn't in Episode III, but still living. In saying that, I'm pretty certain that Kanan and Ezra will either pass away or go into hiding prior to the Last Jedi (for obvious reasons).
I do hope they stop baiting Hera and Kanan and get it over with. Those two are far too comfortable to be "just" buddies. Unlike all the other terrible Star Wars relationships, this one isn't cringe and over the top. But then again, it's Disney, they relish on the killing of characters to easily tie up loose ends. So it wouldn't surprise me if all bar Chopper and Hera pass. But they'll probably leave Ezra without his father figure before they do him in. And of course, Mother Hen Hera will suffer without her Ghost Clan.
I've always seen the group as Hera and Kanan being the parents of one reckless adult child, two maturing teenagers and a crazy pet droid; with Hera being the responsible and forgiving adult and Kanan the lenient and childish "adult". Hera is the crew's psychologist.

MY OPINION ON REBELS:(DONT WORRY I DIDNT JUST RIGHT THIS ALL AS I REVIEWED THE SHOW USING THIS ELSEWHERE & IT ISNT ALL NEGATIVE).
But overall this show is Disney trash and a wasted opportunity for the era.
Firstly the stories are dire and terribly underwhelming like the producers are afraid to take a risk by showing cool fight scenes, action, deaths and gripping emotional storylines with twists.
I know its a kids show but not showing people getting killed, in sometimes quite a grizzly, sad or cool way takes the fun and intense action out of the franchise leaving you with a brightly colourful shell filled with lame jokes poorly created/developed characters and mediocre plots to the point of insanity.
Other things wrong with show:
A cheap clay looking style of animation borrowed from a Pixar movie like Frozen that's poorly rendered and just doesn't work compared to the CW which had brilliant rendering and awesome risk taking cinematic shots. I cant believe Im hearing that people preffered this BORING style to the CW.
I'm not just ranting about how Rebels is bad cos it doesn't live up to CW but because it is genuinely bad and Ive tried to like rebels and do like some episodes though overall don’t because it never lives up to my expectations and if it does only slightly making it terribly anticlimactic and hating it much more compared to RO & TFA which are done brilliantly.
75% + of the episodes across all 3 seasons are franchise filler filled with episodes about lame cargo runs, building up a fleet, stupid droid banter and stuck up imp officers with barely anything orginal. Its ok to have some of this grounded boring stuff going on but a shows meant to entertain not bore their audience to death talking about made up machinery in realistic detail most of the time, sorry but I don't care!!!
The main characters (ghost crew) don't fit and shouldn't be the main focus because they are poorly created and developed. Kannan is a copy of a character George Lucas or his storywriters came up with called Rahm Kota a cynical order 66 Jedi survivor who also goes blind during the same era. Very original stuff Disney.
Ezra: a highly irritating/silly SW version of Aladdin. Zeb: discarded ep4 concept art for a reason. Though his personalities fine despite his poor humour.
Chopper: Stupid and annoying I prefer Jar Jar binks more.
Kannan: Decent character if a little boring but Hera is written well.
Sabine: lame and unimportant just seems there to add in another cool female role but has no personality and is so stuck up.
Instead Rebels should’ve been called Rebellion or rise of a Rebellion and been set 2 years after revenge of the Sith with Jedi as founding members who soon die then after many years and potential seasons leading right up to RO in a dark and gritty way.
The main characters could’ve been: Saw Gerrera, Lux Bontari, Ahsoka Tano, Quinlan Vos, Jedi master Dass Jennir , Darth Maul, Bail Organa, Jedimaster K’kruhk, Starkiller, Shak Ti, Kasdan Parratus, Cassian Andor, K2S0, Admiral Raddus and Ackbar, Wedge, Biggs Darklighter, Hobbie, Jet Porkins, Mon Mothma, Korkie Kryze, Bo Katan Kyrze and Princess Leia. More cool rebels and Jedi surviours where most would die by Vader, imp agents or inquisitors could be introduced to.
Also they could do storylines around bounty hunters like Boba Fett, Cad Bane, Sugi an Embo and smugglers like Han and Lando and criminal syndicates like the Guavian guard, black sun and the hutts by changing the series title to Dark Times.
George Lucas handled SW series much better with the animated Clone wars tv series which I highly recommend as its was for adults and kids also you cant nor shouldn't hide the reality of death and people that you care about getting killed especially from a subject with war in the title like Rebels does but CW didn’t.The rebels outfits and vehicles are far too colourful compared to the characters in the films especially the ghost crew with Ezra an Hera wearing bright orange jumpsuits and Sabine in bright pink or purple mando armour surely as criminals they would want to wear low key clothing that doesn’t shout Im hear to searching imperials.
I understand that the main characters are meant to show colourful creativity in retaliation to the empires bland colour schemes and uniform look and that the main characters need to stand out to children but so?
Who cares it seems silly and unauthentic and what annoys me the most is how much this show brags about how authentic their trying to be in linking the story an aesthetic change of the prequel to original trilogy when clearly they aren’t. Read the SW dark times comic books an marvel empire epic collection they do the gradual change subtlety and perfectly.
The eras meant to be a dreadful dark time for the galaxy filled with oppression, survival, slavery, death and glimmers of hope like what RO did not a time to have silly swash buckling adventures which is alright sometimes otherwise if it was so fun what’s the point rising up creating the rebellion to fight the empire.
Its set too close to ep4 with 2 high profile Jedi around 2 years before a new hop acting as founding and vital members of the rebellion. The Jedi are meant to seem a myth by ep4 which at least takes a decade to happen.
An based off the S4 trailer it looks like the shows finally realised their mistakes too late as you can really tell from the shabby patched together trailer but at least they've tried to do something about it. I love that Bo Katan is back,Kallus's new look( an I hope he becomes General Draven too but he needs to have a hair cut/shave, age allot quicky and like Sam said change his name),the giant wolf/Anooba looks cool and to be definetly like a force being/spirit. Some people say it is the recarnation of Ahsoka after her duel with Vader but I greatly object that because she can clearly be scene alive walking further into the depths of Malachor in S3 wounded mentally an perhaps physically. Again that fight was so anticlimatic with absolutly nothing interesting to it. Even the fight choreography was tedious and poor. Im so glad one of the two tubes appears an that Saw Gerreras back but he seems to of grown allot of hair very quickly for RO since we last saw him as a bald, ageing an unwell man about 6 months before.
Glad Thrawns still alive and hope they give him more close combat/intellectual action along with the apperance that neat personal assasin of his,TIE defenders, the siege of Lothal and U-wings.
I also hope K2-S0 & Cassian make an appearance along with Pao,sergant Melshi, Private Tezingo Weems,General Merrick,Bistan, those imperial senators and at least a cameo from Director Krennic.

I somewhat agree, but it is a kid's show. A television show to indoctrinate small children into the Star Wars franchise. I only watch for Hera, Kanan, Ashoka and Vader. The rest are all meh. To Disney, they're money.
I'm not sure if you watched the last episode of season three, but there is a dark moment where Commander Sato sacrifices himself for Ezra. It doesn't show much, but Ezra is obviously torn up. Parents probably wont let their kids watch it if they showed too much. Sato's sacrifice is a tough topic to explain to wee ones. I'm still scarred from the fried Luke scene in Episode VI.
I wholeheartedly agree about Marek and Kota, but I'm starting to rather they stay non-canon as Disney will surely water it down. Marek is far too violent for child viewership. Unless Disney decides to go the new Wolverine route, they should leave it alone. I'm finally coming to terms with my head-canon.
Rebels is basically a big toy advertisement. I honestly don't mind though.

Thats what I dislike about Disneys ownership of SW in that they are clearly focusing more on the commercial aspect/profitability of the company rather than the stories making them like the galactic empire. George Lucas genuinly cared about what he was creating and not just about money which I want to see more of though have been seeing grow like Gareth Edwards vision for RO along with passionate fans getting involved with great insight and knowledge about the universe like Doug Chiang,Kathleen Kennedy and JJ.Abrams.
If you look at allot of the young adult/adult SW books released at the moment like Bloodlines,Aftermath Life Debt,RO Catalyst,Ahoska, Rebels new dawn,Tarkin and Lords of the Sith their boring filler with terribly anticlimatic plots.
You would have to be a Jedi to have the ridiculous patience of a Jedi master to read them all properly page to page which I did at first but now mostly skim read them all or read up their story summary on wookieepedia. An Ive noticed these filler books which mainly consist of dialouge are especially those created for well known main characters because they know they can tease diehard fans along with a thirst for SW knowledge like me :tounge: . Well Im fed up and wont read a book without a story. Although there is some exceptions like Aftermath Empires end though you had to get through 2 books and an understanding of the characters for it to get somewhat interesting with the interludes being the best part, Dark disciple was a thrilling read along with Heir to the empire which I think along with Tarkin was one of the first canon books and was a vibrant adventure.
But books like battlefront twighlight company and Lost stars which had allot of creative freedom were much better as the were based losely around main characters used mainly through mentions or cameos and were rollercoaster journey films like the whole SW concept is meant to be as well they visited some familar locations in old SW lore like Kuat whilst adding things fresh. Sorry for going off the Rebels S4 topic on a tangent their but I had to get this off my chest and I am known for tangents.

It adds to the discussion, so I see no issues there.
I guess I'm just watching Rebels for something interesting to happen. They had a huge lead up to Maul and it's like they ran out of time to actually make anything of it. I only really like the interactions between Vader and Ashoka and the two Ghost Captains. Hopefully it gets a bit gritty, but then again, love may be too adult for child audiences. I think the problem is everything is watered down for kids, even LEGO and LEGO Life.
The focus on sales is not new to SW. Ever since the prequels, it's been rampart. My brothers and I had heaps of SW toys and none of us actually enjoyed the films because they weren't gritting and engaging like the originals. They actually brought out a LEGO Rogue Shadow from Force Unleashed (The only SW books I have) it's all business.
Ironically, Disney made the EU non-canon as they couldn't make an engaging story with such limitations which is something they managed to do with a clean slate. It's all for pleasing the masses. Ever since the prequels, the SW target audience has been kids, not the adults who grew up with the originals. Now that the prequel kids are adults, they are being pushed aside for a next wave of income. I don't believe this is just a Disney thing. It wont go away, but I hope they'll at least make something out of Rebels.
