wait a second, I just had a realization... if you liked the kind of music i like now as a kid, am I going to *gasp* like... country music when I'm older!?
JK.
You might! I HATED most country as a kid besides a few songs and TS:P. Now I absolutely LOVE it. I think you might like some country TBH. You like rock, right? If so, try Jason Aldean. He is a VERY rocky country artist!
yeah, rock and pop punk. okay, when I get a chance I will.
I can't believe I had the same awful signature for nearly 8 years. Sorry for disappearing for 2 months, life happened for a bit.
Just looked it up, 1985 is a song which 2 bands wrote and each released a version of it. Bowling for Soup's was released second. So not technically a cover I guess.
the other band was SR-71 I belive.

Living in a semi-country town, I can't really say no.
Australia's country is generally different from the US'. We have/had Slim Dusty (Waltzing Matilda), Lucky Starr (I've Been Everywhere), some of Paul Kelly's stuff and John Williamson (True Blue, Rip Rip Woodchip, Old Man Emu, Home Among The Gum trees, Goodbye Blinky Bill). I guess you could say Lee Kernaghan is more US style and obviously Keith Urban is too.
Slim Dusty and John Williamson are probably the more popular country/folk singers. Williamson's music is more about the environment and politics. Which is funny 'cause Australian schools have/had this weird thing for singing. We would sing all these country songs, mainly JW. This was like a daily routine.
I LOVE Keith Urban! He's my favorite artist period! I saw him in concert last year, was my first concert ever and the best day of my life! Sadly he's doing a world tour so he won't be in the US this year:(.
His country is not really the country music I'm accustomed to. He's more US country nowadays. Most Aussies would call it a pop mix. I don't mind some of his songs. He actually visited my McDonald's store once. Silly people on front counter didn't know who he was. He always often visits South East Queensland over the holidays. Cool guy.
I have the same issue. Siblings and parents pester me about this all of the time. I try not to worry about "keeping up" with everyone else for the sake of it though.
Only problem is it's hard to find a single girl when you're 30 or so. It's MUCH easier when you're in high school. Guess I figured that out too late:P. Almost all my girl friends have boyfriends already.
Maybe it's hard to find one in your close-knit friends, I'm sure they're still plenty who you (to use Michael Buble phrase) "just haven't met yet". My eldest brother started dating his wife at 24, I believe she was 18/19. That means you still have 5 or so years as a minimum. No rush. Your future lady friend could be 14 right now. Hopefully that's not a weird way of looking at it.

My favorite by him is Dirt Road Anthem. That's a rap though, so you might not like it. Maybe try She's Country, Crazy Town, or My Kinda Party.

Yeah, Keith Urban is very poppy, especially his newest album Ripcord. He's a great guy. I would die if I saw him at McDonald's:O:P!

No, I get what you mean:P. Still though, almost everybody my age has at least had ONE girlfriend. I haven't even been on a date before:S:P!

Hmm... I don't really have any good advice. For obvious reasons. Just don't rush it I guess. And the cliche, be yourself.

Did you know that Keith Urban was told no to "stop singing country, nobody will buy it" when he was 12 or so? He sure proved that fellow wrong. He only bought a coffee while there... Not sure if US McDonald's sells coffee like us. So you're like one of those crazy fans? You'd get wobbly kneecaps?

Sure did:D! Yeah, McDonald's in the US sells coffee, before I gave it up I always got it there. Yeah, you could say I'm a crazy fan:P:D!
