I was going to do the same, only that good/stable job never came 'round. that's not to say that you wont find a decent paying job that allows you study.
If I acquired full time work, I wouldn't be at university. I'd still go, but after I set myself up in life.
TBH I probably could get a good job in some other field right now that I could live off of, but I REALLY want to work in computer science. It is more interesting than working at a bank or something.
Working for a bank wouldn't be so bad. You could do that for a few years, while doing computer science on the side. Freelance. Once you acquired the monies, you could go back to school. There are no jobs going where I live. We have 18% youth unemployment in my state. Australia's economy is ruined. I have not had a rostered shift in over a month. They pretty much just call me when the 15 year olds don't show up. Trying to find another job is a pain. Wish people could just let me know that I didn't get the job. Are jobs in the USA easy to come across?

That's kind of what I do now. I just live at home while working low paying jobs. I didn't realize how bad Australia was right now:S. Yes, jobs are easy to come across for a low wage. I literally have gotten every job I applied for:P. I also see signs for hiring people at almost EVERY McDonald's in my area:P.

Well we don't have a manufacturing industry anymore. It's all just sales and hospitality. Companies are always looking for managers, no one hires internally. I literally never get a call back. Most places you need to "apply online", McDonald's being of them. Unless you're 15, you wont get any hours. The media spruiks about the 18% unemployment coming for youth being too lazy to get a job. They wont tell you that local farms only hire Visa holders so they can underpay them in cash and therefore not pay an employer tax. It's not the fault of the foreigners though.

Why would they give more hours to younger people:S?

Did I say cute? Well, they are cute, but I meant cool. And the size of the animal doesn't affect the strength of your Patronus, only your happy feelings do.

I'm pretty sure you have to go to college to do something like that.
We will start with the simplest, the Stunning Spell. All you have to do is point your wand at your opponent and say Stupefy. If done correctly, this will render them unconscious, however, I will have to perform the countercurse because it must be cast by a different wizard than the one who cast the spell. The countercurse is Rennervate, and you will be practicing that in the next lesson. Now, I want to warn you that the spell might seem weak in the classroom setting, but that is because its effects are made stronger by anger or fear. Therefore, in an actual duel, you would be more likely to cast an effective Stunning Spell. However, I do want to make sure you are proficient enough in this spell to be able to use it as defense, so, after you have practiced a few times on each other, I will release a boggart to amplify your fear. Now, pair up and begin practicing.
OOC: Since there are three of you, one of you will have to pair up with an imaginary student.
Also OOC: I made up the part about the anger or fear, but I think it makes sense within the canon.
Okay, anybody want to pair up with me*-)?
You and Hugh-Z will pair up because Mythmaster is not here at the moment.
Why would they give more hours to younger people:S?
Because they are cheaper by over $8 an hour.
Oh, Australia has a different minimum wage depending on age? See, in the USA minimum wage is $7.25 nationally, while some states had higher minimum wages. For example, Massachusetts minimum wage is $11 now.

Yes, we get paid an adult wage at 21, ironic considering I can legally do everything else at 18. Your wage increases each birthday. You can almost hire maybe three 15 year olds for less than two 20 year olds. So they usually put the kids on part-time contracts for after school/during if they dropped out. I'm only casual, so I'm not guaranteed any shifts and I cost even more with casual loading. Starting to think we should go China's route and make it illegal for under 18's to work. Youth unemployment is an epidemic, something needs to be done.

In the USA it's illegal to drop out of school and work until after you're 18! All Australia would need to do to fix this is make minimum wage the same for everybody. It seems like a pretty obvious solution to me:S.
