Next you would deploy your units. I would put your more defiencive troops, corsair's, C spears in the middle and put your more heavily armed Bladesmasters, raides, axemen, troops on the flanks. Then of their flanks, put your cav. I would split up your coastal raiders, but keep your companions together. Then behind everything place your archers.
It should look somthing like this. (if I can make this map right.)

Does anyone have a complete list of all available troops and their worth?
Old MBs: Captain Lachlan, Mirkwood Elf 3rd-in-command in LOTR RP; Captain Cuyler of the Black Pearl in Classics RP; Asger and Yaegar in Ninjago RP; Captain Ake of the Merchant of Death in Pirates RP; "Lucky 13" in City RP; Ake in TMNT RP; Radford the Biker in T.A.D.A.L. RP; Sir Hagan of Rivenden in Castle RP; founder and Grandmaster Volksven of the New (RP) Jedi Order

HA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Wait. . . Are you serious? No-one has a complete list. Or at least, I doubt that anyone does. People can find complete lists of one HQ's Troops, but I doubt anyone has the complete list for Every HQ.
Tul Generas of the Orcs, Darthraxx of the dragon Knights. I RP, and have lots of fun.
I'm here for a practice fight. Anybody want to battle?
Hey Glubby! I'll fight you.
So let's quick go over a couple of the rules: Each HQ (and player) is issued XYZ amount of MWE (which stands for Mannish Worth Equivelant). You use MWE to make troops. A Standard Swordsmen is 1 MWE, and a more powerful one might be 2-5 MWE, depending on how powerful. a Swordsman with light armor that is 2 MWE can fight 2 normal soldeirs at a time or fight until he has taken down 2 normal soldeirs with swords and light armor. Armor, Weaponry, Horses all change the exacts, which is why we have this training ground. In a battle, it's pretty simple. You will say something like *My swordsmen advance* or *My Tower Guard form a Testedo* and stuff like that. I will then respond with my troops changing their strategy, maybe *My Light cavalry Fall behind the Heavy Cavalry* or *My men form into a formation looking like this: \/T\/T\/*
So. . . You go decide an HQ you like, and then come back an make an army. Choose the HQ by it's unit types: Gondor has good Formation fighting and has slight Elvish troops, Dol Amroth has pretty decent Cavalry, boats and some Gondor-like stuff, Khand has Chariots and Axemen, The Orcs have Trolls.
So, for your battle, let's go ahead and do 5K versus 5K, an open plain/Steppe/Grassland area. I'll use Khandish unitry, once you know your HQ, go find their Unit List (It'll be somewhere in the first 2-3 pages of the Armies and Units Topic most likely. So, here is my 5K unit list (note that some of these aren't yet approved, I just got the idea for some of them):
50 Temu-FaJai (Worth 8, Bow and Sword, Light Cavalry) 50 Temu-Faxe (Worth 7, Bow and Axe, Light Cavalry) 50 PlowJai (Heavy Cavalry, "Plow" on horse, dual swords) 20 Dol-Tereg w/ Drivers (made unit, large cart/Chariot) 420 Shields of Fire (Made unit, typical "Tower Guard") 20 Rangers of Putur-Nami (Longbow, Short Sword, throwing knives, partial mounted) 100 Sheilds of Khand (Made unit, typical "Tower Guard") 50 Tsur-Nemu (Made unit, flail beserker) 1,000 Enlisted Archers (basic archer unit, light armor)

Okay just wondering. =P It's been quite a while since I battled in this RP, can you please refresh my brain circuit memories?

Ok. It can be pretty simple, or it could be intensely difficult. Basically, you'll state that XYZ units are doing this (advancing, firing arrows, forming this formation etc.) and then the opponent will state that because your troops are doing XYZ, ABC troops are doing this (Flanking, Firing Arrows, forming this formation etc.). Other than that, it's typical warfare of the medieval ages: Do I have my Tower Guard in the front, or do I keep them defending the archers? Should I send Flails or Axes against this sheildwall? Should I create a Testedo or should their be Pikemen in the formation? All that kind of stuff.

Cool, thanks. Want to do a practice here?

Sure, why not? choose your HQ, how about we do this:
So put defensive units in the middle, followed by heavy troops and then cav? Also, what are "Companons"?
That's what he suggests. I dissagree. Also, he means the "Companion" Unit that you have, pretty sure.
Ah okay. So, maybe there's a way to mix the two setups*-)? Also, shouldn't I put the defensive units protecting the archers? That would seem to make the most sense IMO:S.

Okay, here's my army again. How do I know what type of unit they are? For example, "Marines". What defines that? 1,000 Coastal Raiders: 1,300 worth 100 Companions: 300 worth 500 Corsairs: 500 worth 1,000 Corsair archers: 1,000 worth 200 Corsair Raiders: 200 worth 200 Corsair Spearmen: 200 worth 100 Blademasters of the Bay: 300 worth 100 Hatholdir (axe men): 500 worth 400 Belegaer archers: 400 worth 100 Belegar Marksmen: 300 worth
