Okay, I saved the units along with the 3 added later on a Notepad doc:). So, should I make an army to battle with first? If so, how many points should I get?
I said 5,000 MWE. We are fighting on a plain.
100 Sheilds of Fire (similar to Roman Legionaires) (500 worth) 500 Tsur-Nemu (bezerkers with "flails") (1,000) 100 Kharvach-Mori (light cavalry) (500 worth) 500 Enlisted Swordsmen (500) 500 Enlisted Pikemen (500) 100 Variags (Heavy bezerker axemen) (1,000) 1,000 Archers. (1000)
Now, as 8Legos said, you would want lots of cavalry and archers against this army. HOWEVER, since you're learning the ropes, I'd suggest making whatever army you feel comfortable with. Would you feel better having lots of archers? Or do you think that having a large number of axemen is more your style? figure that out and post your army.

MM sais 5000 for your battle. I like to adapt my army to fit the situation but some people prefer to have a set army to use.
Actually, 2 battles are probably better than just doing one. Diglett, I suggest that you do so, though of course you don't have to.
Sounds good! 8legos, do you want to choose your units first, or should I choose mine to try being on the opposite side of the spectrum?
You can choose yours. Lets have you do something which is one of the most important things in the rp after the start. Sieges. Your going to be defending a fortress with 3000 MWE, and I will be attacking with 5000 MWE. At first you might not think that this is fair but you have the defiences, so it should be mostly fair.
For your army I would recemond Repeters and some defenders or pikes. Maybe a few fire throwers, but not vary many of thoes since they havn't been tested yet and might be slightly OP. You also have 300 worth of siege weapons.
I would disagree. I would bring a good amount of Cavalry to counter the archers and the berserkers. And Archers to counter the pikemen and shields of fire. As well as some spear men to hold the line.
Something like this.
1000 worth of infantry (heavy spearmen.)
1500 worth of cavalry, probably 1000 heavy cav (lancers or cataphracts) and 500 light cav (horse archers)
2500 worth of archers. all foot archers. little to no crossbows.
Cavalry wouldn't have too much effect on Variags.
Are you sure? Lightly armed infantry getting charged by heavy cavalry in the open field? I would put my bets on the cavalry.

Heavy Cavalry probably not. Archer Cavalry, certainly. But Axes against Heavy Cavalry probably wouldn't be decimated. At the very least their would be very heavy losses.

Heavily armed berserkers being charged by cavalry in an open field. Would cavalry take down Uruk-hai Berserkers on the first pass without moderate losses? Because Variags are basically human Berserkers.

How's this look? I used lots of cavalry as you mentioned, plus a lot of archers to counter yours:). Then I tried using a variety of different close combat units.

Well if they no longer have a head or a heart or can't breath. They arn't going to fight very well.

But they wouldn't lose a head or a heart in the first place, they would be too quick.

I"ll have mine in a bit, there is some units that I want to make and try out (even if they don't get apporved for general use). And I'll be backpacking this weekend.
