In a situation where most love it or hate it...I found it okay.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie Despite the stellar animation, the rest was just not there. The movie felt like they made the trailer first, and then had to tie it all together with a plot afterwards. Illumination was presented with a tough task, turning a beloved videogame franchise into a movie, and while this is no disgrace to the name of Nintendo, it doesn't sell itself much further than that. The star-studded cast doesn't really shine, and the many easter eggs are no replacement for a compelling story.

: Not one of LEGO's better themes in my opinion. The brick-built figures were an odd choice, the highlight of most sets are the minifigures.
Oh yes, they've actually had some pretty good plot ideas for the series, but everything else is usually lacking.
I guess for kids (which is arguably the target audience) Kung Fu Panda 4 is a decent movie, but Dreamworks must know there are a ton of older fans out there. For sure, perhaps they spent most of their budget on The Last Wish.
Get them posted, man! I need to see these now.
I think it'd kill me to work on a project that is half-baked like those tv shows, knowing how good they could be but knowing that they're destined to be forgettable filler.
To be fair, you're the first older Kung Fu Panda fan I've met, so maybe you all are slipping under the radar. They made it all back though, so...
Your wish is my command..in this instance.
Yup, you seem to get a lot of wasted talent in tv show productions.
Oh. Well to be fair, I couldn't call myself a hardcore fan, just someone who enjoys the good movies and roasts the bad ones. True, true.
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King The climax of one of the most connected movie series every made. The movies feel like one, flowing steading from the first to the finish. It is hard to rate these movies individually, but it is enough to say this one does the other two justice. This movie is bittersweet in its ending, because now you are done, and you must watch other movies which will likely not match up to the might and power of the Lord of the Rings.

: We could've used even more sets from this movie, especially some version of Minas Tirith. I would've also loved to seen a set depicting the fight between Eowyn and the Witch King with a brick built Nazgul beast. They really missed out by not making a third wave of LOTR sets focused on this movie.

Ayyy nice! I aggree with pretty much all of your points on these three movies!
Though The Two Towers wasn't really my fave movie at first, it's been growing on me.
Generally I like each for their own reasons; Fellowship for the beautiful scenery and locations, Two Towers for the world building and introduction of many great characters, and Return Of The King for bringing the trilogy to a fairly satisfactory climax, and having one of the best battle scenes of the three.
As for LEGO sets, there is a new LEGO Barad-dûr set, which although not strictly from RotK, should fill that criteria quite nicely. Movie Reviews

I guess people gotta start somewhere, some of them get to move on to bigger and better things.
No, in my mind you are now a die hard Kung Fu Panda fan, and there's no changing that. Movie Reviews

Awesome! My reviews with of LOTR line up pretty well with most people's opinions, I think.
I like it best because the characters have really come into their own, and it's before everything turns super dark. Even Smeagol is a good guy for most of the film.
They announced that LEGO set like right as I posted these reviews, I'm just gonna say I must have inspired them. Movie Reviews
I am in the process of rewatching these to form a solid opinion of them now that the dust has settled.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens The movie starts with promise, but as it runs on the similarities to previous films become glaringly obvious, and the plot starts to feel lazier and lazier. The Star Wars universe has the potential to tell so many original stories, but this big-budgeted reboot chooses to stick to what they know, and recycle most of their plot points. The old characters hang onto just enough of their old charm to feel authentic, it's the new characters that provide the highs (John Boyega as Finn) and lows (Adam Driver as Kylo Ren) of this film. As far as effects go, though, the budget is well spent, the Star Wars world has returned in all its glory!

: Say what you will about the movies, they had LEGO potential, which LEGO needed no prompting to capitalize on.

Rey's Popsicle Speeder is still a hit.
However, I remain mulling over what could have been. CONTEXT: Expanded Universe Ania Solo & Jao Assam (Former Imperial Knight of Fel Empire, who were the remains of the Galactic Empire.)

Yep, either that or we're all just very agreeable.
For sure! And yes, Smeagol was fairly chill up until being captured by Faramir (20-year-old spoilers!)
Kung Fu Panda 4 What Kung Fu Panda 4 does right is lean on one of franchise's greatest strengths: its villains. It finds a way to draw on the past, but with enough of
a twist to keep it from being unwelcome. The action and the drama are there, but the rest feels a little lacking, even compared to the earlier outings in this series. The jokes might not land well, but the Kung Fu still does.

: I see this movie as no better or worse of a candidate for LEGO treatment than the others...which is to say we're probably just fine without a Kung Fu Panda theme.
Posting this one leading up to an exciting review...
Inside Out Possibly the most insightful movie ever made, Inside Out takes the uncharted waters of what it looks like inside our heads, and explores. At every turn there is new food for thought, and the movie playfully approaches so many different aspects of what goes on behind the brain. The movie tells a compelling story while telling us so much about ourselves. A rare gem.
: 4.5
: There's a small chance LEGO could nail the design on the minifigures and give us a good Inside Out set or two, but I think it's just safer to just pick another theme. Movie Reviews
