I remember being a huge fan of Journal of a Creeper. I really need to reread some of the old stories on here.
You art is really good! I have so much respect for animators, I know it's an insane amount of work and practice
Oh cool, someone else remembers it! I remember writing some fairly cringe stuff, but it was a lot of fun and I remember that it was like basically a dozen or so middle schoolers and young teenagers somehow managing to make cohesive plots and character development with absolutely no planning beforehand whatsoever. Kinda impressive in hindsight.
Thank you!! It is... it's a huge pain and really agonizing tbh. (=~=') But I really appreciate hearing that For some reason when I try to tell most people about traditional animation they're just like "oh that sounds like a cute hobby " ... and it drives me INSANE
I think everyone thinks they were cringe at that age.
I'll still think it's super cool how well it started to flow like halfway through. I think it was mostly you, Mock, and IceFire writing, right?
Being any kind of artist seems like a lot of fun until you think about all the work that has to go in. That's why I choose to be lazy
based tbh pyromania is a good hobby LOL i feel that xD sometimes you just gotta make your own cool kids table when the cool kids are being lame
It's so warm You right, though sometimes I like sitting at my table of 1 and just watching everybody else.
Warmth? in this economy?? we need more fires methinks based tbh. People watching is fun unironically, I like to go to malls and parks and have a snack and sketch people sometimes or just watch them do silly little human things and appreciate that we can do silly things or i should say i used to do that until i started working full time
It's so wonderful to see so many new users! I'm always happy to talk about (what I remember of) my history on the LMBs, if anyone cares to listen.
LMB History
I first joined the LEGO Message Boards in early November of 2015, introducing myself with an out-of-place topic in the Minecraft forum, as I have recreated as my first topic here, on the LMBE. I quickly joined the Minecraft roleplay, and it was there that I met Starwar4848, who would remain my friend throughout my time on the LMBs. I branched out into the Community Chat forum when I came up with an idea for an LMB-based video game, and wanted to receive the opinions of other users. From there, I went to the MB Stories forum to post the plot of my game in the form of a story, which inadvertently led to me writing and posting a number of other stories. These stories received moderate appreciation, and fairly consistently starred the user DarkClaw39. By the time of December of 2015, a christmas party topic was posted in the Jurassic World forum, which I joined, and was where I met several influential users like TheGreatCon and SweetCrazy6 for the first time. I would end up staying in the Jurassic World forum long after the party was over, and if I recall, I became a part of the Sombrero Club back when it was just the Sombrero Trio / Sombrero Four-o =P I had many conversations with exceptionally cool users, including teaching Brian how to use fonts and font colors while on mobile. I also, perhaps most notably participated in the Jurassic World roleplay, which would later prove to be hugely important. I was also somewhat active in the Ninjago forum, where I met Unikittyswag and wrote fanfiction together =P
I met both glubby (also known as metaknightfan4 ) on a quiz topic he made in the Ninjago forum, and attackpuppy at the aforementioned christmas party, and the three of us became friends in the Jurassic World roleplay after they picked up on a Legend of Zelda reference I made. This led to the creation of the LEGO and Nintendo Fanclub, uploaded in March of 2016 by Glubby after two unsuccessful attempts. I spent most of my time at the LEGO and Nintendo Fanclub, and it very soon began to attract members, including Ciblast , lego1999boyathome, Spiderboy614, Henny4315 , JimiFurno (also known as JimiFurno RedXD001 ), and Sogel Van Rome (also known as Sogel van Rome), among many others. Attackpuppy had to leave on March 16th, shortly after its creation, but the Fanclub persisted in his absence, and spawned at least one sub-topic, the LEGO and Nintendo Roleplay, created by Ciblast I believe. The LEGO and Nintendo Fanclub and its associated roleplay also survived the LMBs closing down in March of 2017 by moving onto the LEGO General Galleries (and was even succeeded by the Super LEGO and Nintendo Fanclub), and survived the Galleries closing down in turn by moving here!
(continued)
My username came from wanting the username "Waffle", which was already taken, and just adding (poorly chosen, in retrospect) words and numbers to it; "Waffle" itself just based off of the fact that I liked waffles, if I recall =P As some people may remember, I used to use light green text, which, combined with my similar avatar minifigure, led to me being mistaken for Shamrock on a number of occasions =P Unless I'm wrong, I was included in a planning topic for a story to be written by many of the big users at the time, lasting for a week or so until they realized it was actually me, at which point I was promptly thrown out =P After that, I switched my font color and avatar's clothes to blue so as to be more visually distinct, which I've continued to use ever since. I also took over running the Minecraft forum's ask or dare topic after its creator went inactive, and it got to be relatively popular under my management. The quality of my responses wasn't the highest, but the content I put out seemed to resonate with the askers, so I kept at it =P
About Myself I'm currently 18 years of age, and in college studying psychology. I believe this would have made me around 10 years old when I joined the LMBs for the first time? Contrary to popular belief, apparently, I live in the US =P My favorite LEGO theme is Lord of the Rings & the Hobbit, reflected fairly well in the fact that I don't get very many new LEGO sets, but the last one I bought was the LEGO Rivendell released earlier this year. I really like the Lord of the Rings & the Hobbit books already, and I think that LEGO has done an incredible job at recreating the characters and locations from them. Perhaps as a result of all the stories I wrote on the LMBs, I've started writing a bit more seriously, and have also gotten into creating illustrations and composing lyrics as part of trying to write a book.
Life Updates Not many =P I don't remember if I ever formally announced it, but like Sogel and a few others, I've had the revelation that I'm a girl, and technically have been the whole time! This was in like, late 2019-early 2020, but looking back on it, most of the personas I would create and the characters I would play as in roleplays were female as well, so I've actually been pretty consistent in that regard =P I still enjoy building with LEGO, even though I haven't bought many LEGO sets recently. I've created a few custom models based off of video game locations, just not very large ones =P I've talked with a few friends from the LMBs who didn't come over here, but it's been a little while since we all got together (ie 4-5 years). I miss all of them, and hope to see them again, no matter how unlikely it may be.
I believe that's all, at least that I can think of for the moment. I always enjoy looking back on the memories I've made on the LMBs, and I hope we can create many more here! =D

I'm glad you enjoy it though!
Well the difference is I'm right. Yeah, and I think one other user..? I can't remember her name, but I remember she hosted the "Journal of an Enderman", I think, and her writing style was a lot more refined than mine, so naturally I was both simping over her and jealous simultaneously.
As you should! That's girlboss behavior tbh Thanks lol! The end product makes it worth it. It gives me a kind of high, and so I keep drawing/animating looking for that high again.
It's so warm You right, though sometimes I like sitting at my table of 1 and just watching everybody else.

I'll go get more kindling. I love doing that, it's so peaceful to watch the world go by. Sometimes I just sit with my friends and listen to the conversation without adding anything, unless I have a good joke lined up. I wish I had that problem.
Your story was one of the most professionally written MB stories I ever read. If only this second one was in audiobook format, that' the only way I get to book nowadays. I wanna know what happens though.
Thank you. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to release an audiobook.
I was afraid you'd say that. I kinda had my hopes up actually.
This is a legitimately good point though. Back in our day there was a direct market of "Internet places for kids". LMB of course, but you also had stuff like Club Penguin, Poptropica, and things such as.
Nowadays that's not a thing anymore. Instead of moderated message boards you got kids on TikTok, and instead of those kid-friendly and relatively safe games the kids are now on Roblox which is a dangerous platform for a myriad of reasons. As the internet becomes more corporatized and centralized, kids these days don't have those same online experiences that we did.
There’s some foul kids on the internet now. There’s no consequences on apps or social platforms, so people will say whatever things they want and the stuff that’s “funny” to say is usually massively inappropriate for their age.
Honestly though, it's very sad to see.
I can't believe I had the same awful signature for nearly 8 years. Sorry for disappearing for 2 months, life happened for a bit.
Cafe Talk was one of the biggest topics in CC back in the day!
You had some great stories, I gotta reread them sometime.
I think for most of us it was a combination of getting busy with life, and also other people leaving creating a snowball effect of the rest of us dropping off.
Looking forward to hearing about whatever's next!
Tbh i originally made sweets cafe talk to be a competitor to the big FF and BB threads. It failed miserably! It was pretty dead and i think i suggested the sombrero group go over there because our messages were getting too general for the Jurassic world board ? I think…? Yeah definitely! Life happens and people drift ! It’s nice to see us all back again, even if it isn’t forever
The presence of the gang alone was enough to compete with FF.
Even if it isn't I hope we can do more regular reunions than once every 5 years.

Welp, I delayed starting on this because I wasn’t sure how you put eight years of happy memories into a few paragraphs, but I sat down earlier and decided to have a go. An hour and a half later, this has ended up only a little shorter than the essay on Victorian policing I wrote last week, (if only inspiration for that had come so easily ) so idk if anyone has the perseverance to actually read my ramblings.
If anyone wants a tl;dr, it’s this: y’all are wonderful and I can’t imagine how a large period of my life would have gone without you in it. I feel so privileged to have had the MBs in my life, and hope to carry on knowing y’all as long as I possibly can.
I first discovered the LMBs whilst randomly browsing google when I supposed to be supposed to be doing schoolwork. I joined on the 11th November 2015, a few days after my 13th birthday. Initially I posted in the ‘Create your own kingdom’ roleplay in the Castle forum where I met users like aburk1, taigonia and mythmaster1 . From there I expanded into other Castle topics, mainly minor one-topic RPs and reading stories before venturing into the official Castle RP sub-forum. I still have many fond memories of joining and eventually leading the Lion Knights and the friends I made in that RP, from people like TheGreatCon , Boomer , LegoAgentFigure and RuleJJ who have made it over here to others like HermanPlatina who didn’t.
In December 2015 I took another step by joining the ‘New RP Jedi Order’, part of the unofficial roleplay on the Star Wars main forum. I made a great many more friends there, from fellow jedi like jedimasterwolf , YouKnowWho , general_han, imalegofan, TG-5102 , 7531Hunter , Stephanie and Samantha Karena to Sith like WizemanII , milbro081399 , Darth Ninion (ngl his username escapes my meory) and Tweed . I would eventually become leader of the Jedi faction there, which has survived in a roudabout form on another platform-that-may-not-be-named. I unknowingly plunged further into the MBs when the Sith from the Star Wars RP hijacked the ‘MB Airplane RP’ on the Community Chat forum. My initial participation in the battle there gave me the confidence to post in other topics on that forum, which I previously avoided due to its scary activity levels.
The first topic I can really remember being active in in Community Chat was Tad's MB Valentines Party, where I became a founding member of the Party Bosscrashers Crash Bandi-Coots group (I have no idea what the second half of that means, ask Sweets ) who spread chaos and sheep, warring over lemonade through a series of party topics including the St Patrick’s Day Party (which I’m fairly certain was the largest topic I created on the old MBs ). I’m still friends with several of the bosscrashers, especially HannahDash whom I was sorry to lose contact with from 2017-2020 but have talked to fairly regularly for the past three years.
