With the return of quite a few users after all these years (LMBE Revival?! ), it would be nice to have everyone do a proper explanation of how things have been going since we all dropped off, So I figured we could have a topic to post life updates.
Additionally, with how small the group is now, not everyone may have known each other, so this will also double as an official introduction to anyone you don't really know yet.
With that being said, here's a list of some potential questions to answer. Feel free to answer whichever ones you wish. Also this is by no means a comprehensive list, just some ideas to start conversation.

Hey, I'm Sogel!
LMB History!
I joined the LMBs in 2014, so I would have been 9 at the time. Absolutely insane and I am so thankful I had the safe space of the LMBs to reach people outside my circle as a kid.
I dropped off the LMBEs in 2018 I think? It's been a little while.
I was majorly a part of the Jurassic World group (firmly on the Lowery side of the Lowery v. Masrani debate ), though I did hang out with Waffle Dee of Revelation 's Nintendo Fanclub a good bit.
I think I joined because I had seen a link on the main Lego website. I'm almost certain it was the Star Wars boards I started posting in.
My username (legosandmore13) was literally picked off of some website description, Legos and More. I could not tell you where I saw this though. eventually I got tired of being called Sandmore that I jumbled up the letters into a new pseudonym, Sogel Dan Rome (which eventually became Sogel Van Rome because I thought Dan sounded too silly )
I was part of the Sombrero Gang but I don't really remember leaving much of an impact on the boards. The only thing I can really remember having going for me was the fact that I was the youngest user I knew (slightly younger than both Qui and Ash!). I was amazed by the fact that Con was going to college (in my state, too!)
About myself!
At the moment I'm 18 and in my second year of college. I live in the US, Kansas specifically. Yes, the place from The Wizard of Oz.
I think my favorite Lego theme is whichever one has those flowers! They're all super cool looking, and the building is fun. Ideas sets usually are the same (I want the Saturn V so bad!)
As for activities and hobbies and stuff, I do theater at college! It's a lot of fun and I've met some good friends in the program. A show I was part of actually got nominated for a national theater festival recently, so wish me luck!
I don't actually do much with Lego as much anymore. I'm broke.
Life updates!
The biggest change is that little pink symbol under my profile picture. I realized some things about myself and I'm far happier this way, really being myself.
Also I realized my religious upbringing was absolutely a cult. Still working on getting out of there but I'm glad I'm knowledgeable about the situation. Realizing that RuleJJ was a really nice guy despite being proudly atheist was a bit of a wakeup call for me. Thanks for that, man.
My little brother has inherited a lot of my old bricks, but I kept a few special minifigs and builds. I buy the occasional blind bag or cheap Minecraft set, but I definitely get less and play with them less than I used to. No and no .
I wish! I don't know how you all got your web of communication going but I'm glad you did, this reunion is awesome!
I am still quite close to Kansas, I wonder how far away we are from each other...
I don't think I realized you were younger than Ash...wow.
Gosh it's been a while since I've done one of these.
I joined the original boards back in 2014 ( or at least that's what the wiki says? )
It's been about 2 years or so since I was active here, I don't know why I stopped posting just kinda drifted off...
From what I remember I was mostly active in CC, Castle and Jurassic Park forums.
I have honestly forgotten the names of the groups I was in.
The Lego Mindstorms board is what got me on the forum originally, but then I found the other forums and liked them more.
My username is my old nickname from when I was a baby. My Nana used to call me Boomer after Boomer Esiason, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals.
I think I was known for being a little weird and off the wall? I think?
I'm 23 right now, still from Texas. I currently work for an axe throwing venue but our store is closing at the end of the month.
Bionicle, because it was the best action figures little me ever got.
I most just game now, I play D&D when I can. Recently I've started drawing again.
Uh... I'm technically an ordained minister and can officiate a wedding.
I tried college/university but Covid messed that up
I don't do much with Lego anymore, I would if I had an unlimited budget to get all the pieces I want.
Every now and then I pop in and say Hi to the Brick Barons if y'all remember them.
uh thats it.
Boomer!!! Good to see you man!!!
You working for an axe-throwing venue is so on-brand.

It's so wonderful to see so many new users! I'm always happy to talk about (what I remember of) my history on the LMBs, if anyone cares to listen.
LMB History
I first joined the LEGO Message Boards in early November of 2015, introducing myself with an out-of-place topic in the Minecraft forum, as I have recreated as my first topic here, on the LMBE. I quickly joined the Minecraft roleplay, and it was there that I met Starwar4848, who would remain my friend throughout my time on the LMBs. I branched out into the Community Chat forum when I came up with an idea for an LMB-based video game, and wanted to receive the opinions of other users. From there, I went to the MB Stories forum to post the plot of my game in the form of a story, which inadvertently led to me writing and posting a number of other stories. These stories received moderate appreciation, and fairly consistently starred the user DarkClaw39. By the time of December of 2015, a christmas party topic was posted in the Jurassic World forum, which I joined, and was where I met several influential users like TheGreatCon and SweetCrazy6 for the first time. I would end up staying in the Jurassic World forum long after the party was over, and if I recall, I became a part of the Sombrero Club back when it was just the Sombrero Trio / Sombrero Four-o =P I had many conversations with exceptionally cool users, including teaching Brian how to use fonts and font colors while on mobile. I also, perhaps most notably participated in the Jurassic World roleplay, which would later prove to be hugely important. I was also somewhat active in the Ninjago forum, where I met Unikittyswag and wrote fanfiction together =P
I met both glubby (also known as metaknightfan4 ) on a quiz topic he made in the Ninjago forum, and attackpuppy at the aforementioned christmas party, and the three of us became friends in the Jurassic World roleplay after they picked up on a Legend of Zelda reference I made. This led to the creation of the LEGO and Nintendo Fanclub, uploaded in March of 2016 by Glubby after two unsuccessful attempts. I spent most of my time at the LEGO and Nintendo Fanclub, and it very soon began to attract members, including Ciblast , lego1999boyathome, Spiderboy614, Henny4315 , JimiFurno (also known as JimiFurno RedXD001 ), and Sogel Van Rome (also known as Sogel van Rome), among many others. Attackpuppy had to leave on March 16th, shortly after its creation, but the Fanclub persisted in his absence, and spawned at least one sub-topic, the LEGO and Nintendo Roleplay, created by Ciblast I believe. The LEGO and Nintendo Fanclub and its associated roleplay also survived the LMBs closing down in March of 2017 by moving onto the LEGO General Galleries (and was even succeeded by the Super LEGO and Nintendo Fanclub), and survived the Galleries closing down in turn by moving here!
(out of space, I'll add the other sections as replies to this one. I may enjoy discussing LMB history too much =P )
well still a pyromaniac, but my love of bombs and things that explode has decreased over the years. Finally it only took almost a decade, but I'm finally at the cool kids table.
based tbh pyromania is a good hobby LOL i feel that xD sometimes you just gotta make your own cool kids table when the cool kids are being lame
It's so warm You right, though sometimes I like sitting at my table of 1 and just watching everybody else.
Apparently, I joined the LMBs in 2011, although I don't recall making many posts until 2013.
I never stopped being active . . . although until recently I hadn't made a post since last August.
Number 1 is definitely Castle, especially Castle RP. For a long time, I would read every post made on those boards (hence my self-ascribed nickname the King of Castle). I also spent a lot of time on the Kingdoms RP before it ended and various other RPs. I probably joined almost every RP that was vaguely medieval fantasy themed, which was a lot, and most of them died almost immediately.
As I said, I was big in the Castle RP (perhaps too big). There was a Castle Gallery group that I was in, I think. I also spent some time in Sweets Cafe towards the end.
I don't know how I got to the LMBs, probably just by browsing the site.
I did write a couple stories, although I don't think they're particularly well-known (particularly as a majority of them happened here, not on the original LMBs). I also ran at various points a few different GM-style RPs, which I doubt anyone really remembers either.
About Myself
I'm 23, and I just finished my Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering in May and started working as a Process Engineer at a greenfield EV battery plant.
It's got to be Castle or Heroica, even though I never owned a Castle set and only have one Heroica set. I really just have a lot of nostalgia for them from the LMBs.
I read a lot, mainly in the fantasy genre, and I like to walk/hike and sometimes bike (though I don't do those as much as I think I should). For the past couple years, my biggest hobby has been Dungeons & Dragons. I also started writing again recently, very short pieces that I exchange with a friend of mine on a weekly basis.
That's all I've got.
Life Updates
Well, I've graduated and I have a full-time job, so that's the main thing. I don't really have any other interesting updates.
See above.
A little bit. I probably get around 1-2 sets a year at this point, and I still have all my old collection.
No, but I have been here.
I got a poinsettia yesterday at a corporate holiday party.
That's all from me.
I remember your stories (or at least Half-Breed) and the RPs of course! You were definitely the King of Castle.
The second story is the sequel to Half-Breed. Thank you!
I was part of the Sombrero Gang but I don't really remember leaving much of an impact on the boards.

At the moment I'm 18 and in my second year of college. I live in the US, Kansas specifically. Yes, the place from The Wizard of Oz.

I know we didn't talk much, but I think I remember you as being one of the members of the Sombrero Gang, back in its heyday.
Ayy, I have a college friend from Kansas. She won't shut up about it
Omg that's amazing!! Congrats! I've had a similar experience with my own religious upbringing. I haven't really left it behind, but I've been re-thinking a lot of things that I was taught growing up and slowly changing my perspective on a lot of stuff. I'm really glad that you were able to get out of there.
Woo I didn't conpletely disappear from the collective conscious!
Did you know Kansas has the only college in the country with a gorilla as its mascot? That's the only interesting thing about Kansas colleg
Thanks, I'm really glad people are chill about it here ]
It's ok if you still have faith in religion, so long as you're not hurting anyone and you're really understanding why you're doing what you're doing. I know I'm never going to go back, with good reason, but I definitely would not be anything like the person I am today if not for it.
I think I was fourteen, if not fifteen when I first began posting on the original LMB. I was drawing cartoons and trying to learn how to write stories in between my school assignments in Germany. Now I am twenty-two years old, working on my Bachelor's degree at college in Tennessee, having won awards in literary contests and having my artwork featured in the school magazine, as well as having my first paid commission recently. This summer I'm going to try for an animation internship in order to complete the requirements for my Communications major.
My most recent works that I'm exceedingly proud of (the last two are part of animations I did):
My favorite LEGO theme is still Ninjago. I never really got into buying my own sets or mini-figures. The characters and their stories was always what had attracted me the most, and while I'm not super-involved in the fandom anymore and I don't watch the new seasons, I still have a place for it in my heart. Whatever the quality of the story really was, it gave me a lot of joy and inspiration when I really needed it, and for that I'll always be fond of it.
As many of you already know, I've definitely kept in contact with LMBE/BB friends throughout the years. After my family moved back to the States in 2019, Essa Kryze , BabyDill , kingwja , Mock and I have made a habit of visiting each other every year in person, and the memories made with them are some of the best I've ever had. Among several other friends that I communicated with offsite, I stayed friends for RomeNZ , even after he retired from the LMBE/BB. A couple of years ago we confessed our feelings to one another, and this year we finally managed to meet in person, despite the circumstances that tried to stop us. We've been officially dating since August, and we couldn't be happier.
When people were beginning to drift away around 2019-2020, I tried to resign myself to the fact that I would probably never see most of you ever again. I know I've said this multiple times in FF, but it makes me so much happier than I can say to see all these familiar usernames reappear and to read everyone's excited messages to one another.
It's wonderful to see you all here again.
I remember being a huge fan of Journal of a Creeper. I really need to reread some of the old stories on here.
You art is really good! I have so much respect for animators, I know it's an insane amount of work and practice

I'm so curious. Like sometimes it's just so crazy to realize everyone on here is fully out in the world somewhere.
Yeah that's always been the reaction. Like I'm certain that is almost verbatim what you said last time I mentioned it.
Oh boy, this one is gonna be a long one. Let's see, where do I start...
I joined the LEGO Message Boards way back in 2010, when I was a small 8 year old child. I began reading several help topics and then grew into reading topics on Community Chat, as well as some stories here and there. But I never made a post. I was essentially a reader account. It wasn't until 2013 when I made my first post; I believe it was actually on the old Master Builder Academy forum. I then started to post in a few more locations, such as Jurassic World, Star Wars, and Community Chat. By the end of 2013, I had become quite active, finding my way into the LEGO Minifigures Road Trip RP (courtesy of GideonF210 ), and the MB Asylum. I had also been introduced to Finding Friendships by my first friend on the boards, WaterDragon1103.
But everything changed when 2014 attacked. All of a sudden, I stopped posting everywhere. I had a life... or at least some semblance of one. I had no free time and I was going through a lot while I was away from the boards, and it got to the point I had forgotten about them entirely. That was, until November of 2015. I had just gotten some more LEGO Minifigures to add to my collection when I remembered my time roleplaying as the Roman Soldier. I immediately had the desire to go back to it and see what had transpired while I was gone. I came back and discovered the closure of several topics I was in, including the MB Asylum, and I had found that all my friends from Finding Friendships had vanished. My two main friends, WaterDragon1103 and Cookieyourface had both left as well. But I was determined to try the boards again...
By Christmastime, 2015, I had rejoined Finding Friendships and was quite active. I had began roleplaying yet again as the Roman Soldier (and a few others!), and I began reading more MB Stories and learning more about HTML for LMB signatures. I had made new friends, such as EpicTruth11, Boomer, Sweets, Maybear6, DarkClaw39, 8MissKuku8, and Essa Kryze. I had even found myself featured in several MB Stories! Christmas 2015 was probably my favorite LMB Christmas. By mid-2016, I had become one of the most active users on the entire website. I had learned enough HTML to create my own signature shops and help topics, and I had even become the consistently most liked user on the Help & Suggestions forum, and frequented the overall most liked sidebar each week. I became active in numerous roleplays over multiple forums, and I had even been given a seat on the LEGO Council. My group of friends grew exponentially and I was online for the majority of every day. I was well known obviously in Finding Friendships, all over the Help & Suggestions forum, Sweet's Cafe, my commercial studio with Boomer, MBs Onstage, the LMB Square, the MB Ball, the LEGO Council, the Minifigures Road Trip RP, the LMB Mansion, and all over the Message Boards Stories forum in general. I even tried to start my own story.
Unfortunately, however, life hit again. In late September of 2016, I had to semi-retire. I closed my signature shops, said my temporary goodbyes, and packed my bags. Life had me too busy to continue the thousands of conversations I had going on at the same time. By that time I had also already become somewhat active on a certain other wikia site... (shh) I never forgot what I had left behind, and I knew I always planned on coming back, so when I was finally able to in November of 2016, I slowly and carefully popped back into Finding Friendships... and again became one of the most active users on the site. I never restarted my signature shops, and I mostly stayed in Community Chat, RPs, and Stories, but I had again begun to come online consistently every day.
Then, January 2017. All those who were active during that time period remember it well. The end was announced. Everyone began to freak out, lost and confused. I started screenshotting as much as I could, then I began to use the wayback machine to archive as many pages, user profiles, and favorite posts as I could. Some of us retreated to other social media sites like the wiki or Discord. Some of us had nowhere else to go. Until we heard a rumor on the LMB wind of a new option... an Eternal option...
I managed to be one of the first few to discover the Eternals through hidden codes and messages on certain posts on the original LMBs. Eternal User #10, that's me. Eventually, more and more users heard of the good news, and more and more transitioned to their new apocalyptic bunker. It was a fledgling little site, not much to look at at first, but it gave us safety, security. When the originals finally closed, we knew we had to settle in and get busy keeping our remnant alive. Finding Friendships was reborn, and had become perhaps even just as active as at the height of the LMB days. We began our own newsletters, interviews, and created whole new stories and roleplays. The moderation team grew, and the design team expanded. I was promoted to moderator, then to designer. I created many of the new themes we still use today, eventually becoming an Eternal Admin. We had some rocky roads to travel, including certain coups and leader votes we choose not to talk about anymore... but in the end we created more memories like what we had on the original LMBs. That was our goal, wasn't it? I think we've succeeded. The rest is up to all of us.
So that brings us to today. Clearly I am not as active here as I once was, although I continue to monitor from behind the curtains, but I do hope to continue using this site as a means of communication with old friends, and perhaps even some new ones. We're all growing older (and certainly I am to be included in that statement, as I am now 22, and I've been in this community for 14 years, which is well over half my life), and we are all growing busier. In my time in the background, I have been very active on Discord in several different LMB community branches until recently, and in real life I have become a Tech Manager/Sales Manager/Assistant Store Manager of a Staples store in Southern California, with all the responsibility and time dedicated that entails. As one of my oldest friends, I continue to frequently visit Essa Kryze as well as BabyDill, and every year I visit LordTigress, MockingbirdInc, and Lady Narwhal along with them. For a time, I had stopped collecting LEGO sets, however now that I have a budget to do so, at least in small amounts, I have begun collecting much larger display sets. I am most fond of my LEGO Rivendell set, as well as my Technic Bugatti Chiron and two modular buildings. I am also currently in an in-person relationship which is going quite well!
Many of us are progressing in life, building families and becoming ever busier, however, perhaps the next generation of LMB kids may find the same joy in friendship through LEGO as we did? I certainly hope to keep it open as an option, perhaps even with my own kids I hope to have in the future. Regardless, I'll be doing what I can to keep this site going, hopefully with the help of the other amazing members of my moderation and admin teams (as they have done so much for all of us, please applaud them for their hard work), and I will look to become a little more active on here as well. Though, as my LMB history has clearly taught me, I shouldn't make any promises.
Hey King!!!
I forgot about your sig shop, you were amazing at those! I learned a little html but never came close to your mastery.
It's so wonderful to see so many new users! I'm always happy to talk about (what I remember of) my history on the LMBs, if anyone cares to listen.

Your story was one of the most professionally written MB stories I ever read. If only this second one was in audiobook format, that' the only way I get to book nowadays. I wanna know what happens though.

If I remember right I started up on the MBs in 2013 or 14 when I was 10 or 11 years old and kept at it for a year or two. I was more of the lurker type (or topic stalker as HannahDash called herself) since I felt I had less to contribute than all those fantastic authors and hilarious comedians
I think I’ve been gone well over a full year. Hard to track since I didn’t post as much as I thought I would when I made my account, and I've been on and off since 2019. I do really want to have more of a presence here now, though I don't know how well I'll be able to do that, so we'll see how she goes.
Being a lurker I don't know that I would've been remembered at all, but I do remember some of the more recognizable users (or the ones who were just in the same place at the same time) like HannahDash, kingwja, ninjagofanmam, and some others.
I was almost exclusively posting on the Ninjago boards (particularly the stories, though not necessarily as a writer), with some Star Wars, LOTR, and Community chat sprinkled in there, but I went all over the place to read stuff.
As I recall my mom signed me up for the Lego club magazine back in 2011 or 2012, so I knew about it and some of the other stuff from that and playing the Lego.com games on the family computer, but it took till 2013 or so to actually get in and interact.
My old username was my brother and my first names together because it was supposed to be a shared account (but I used it exclusively), my new username comes from the first verse of the book of James in Scots Gaidhlig, “Tha Seumas, seirbhiseach Dhè, agus an Tighearna Iosa Crìosd”
I’m a sophomore at a pretty small college in Western PA, currently studying Business Management with a minor in accounting and a minor in biblical studies (I’m a PK, 'nuff said).
It is a bit of a tossup but I really do love Ninjago. For all the faults the show had it feels like the best example of Legos native storytelling with an original IP, with overarching plots and characters, some surprisingly deep themes from time to time, and really cool aesthetics within the sets with the feudal Japanese/modern city mashups! You can tell s series or theme is good/well loved when the creators sort of... run it into the ground *stares at John Flannagan and Rick Riordan with vengeful intent*
I’m a sprinter on the track team for my school, and I’ve ran T&F since 7th grade. I enjoy reading, and like studying history in my spare time. I'm also a bit of a musician and play, like, 9-ish instruments (though not at the same time )
I’ve really got nothing else to add. I’ve got plans for post-grad studies, kind of know the direction I’m kind of supposed to be going with career and all, turned 20 last week, did a presentation on Cromwell this week in comm, enjoy pancakes, dogs, and other regular human things
