Ah, I see. You don't even get a break to get dinner while the restaurants are open?
That makes sense. There's always new pieces that LEGO is designing that just make everything so much easier, like sideways bracket elements and new Technic pins.
That would be pretty neat. Also a lot of pieces to make odd angles as well which could be interesting. Lol, yeah probably should focus on math first.
Due to food allergies I tend to just cook for myself, it's cheaper, too
New technic elements are confusing.. I'm too used to the technic pieces of my childhood
I'm a bit stuck on the color scheme, I wonder if I could manage to use the green pieces to create the curvature, then use everything else on top of that to cover it up to make it look more aesthetic.
That's fair. Your cooking probably tastes better than restaurant food anyways.
Ah, so you're more used to the studded Technic pieces instead of the studless Technic pieces?
That could work, I think. The green pieces are somewhat flexible, so you could almost bend it into an interesting shape as well. There's quite a lot of good brown pieces for some neat greebling.

Well, most people might find it a little bland, but it doesn't hurt my stomach that way I have enjoyed learning to cook a ribeye however
Well, studless technic pieces are pretty old at this point, I was more referring to weird angles and connectors that have arisen in recent years.
There aren't a ton of those green pieces, so it would limit the scale of the curved part a little.

That's good too. As long as its tastes good to you and works with your stomach, that's all that matters. Ooh, that sounds nice. I'm guessing trying to get the temperature right on the ribeye can be quite challenging?
Ah, those pieces, like the angled studless beams and axle connectors? Or more of the angled panels that make a Technic set's exterior?
That's true. Pretty much the only green pieces are just the leaves on top, I think.

Yes, what works for me may not work for others, but oh well. And yes, I got it almost perfect the first time but the second time I think I waited a minute too long. Oh well, it was still good.
Yes, I'd say a bit of both, and the varying length axle connectors that are a bit newer and combine different types of pieces.
I have some of those pieces here that aren't from the set, maybe I'll mess around with it at some point. I need to order from LEGO this weekend while the free boat promo is still on.

Yep, pretty much. That's good. I've rarely tried making something directly from raw meat cause I can't really trust myself to know if it's cooked properly, even if it's meant to be medium or rare.
Ah, I see. Some of them are pretty interesting, but for me it's usually the case that I need those specific pieces for a specific reason, rather than having the piece first and trying to build something around it.
That'll be good to have. The boat looks so charming, and really polished for a gift with purchase.

That was how I felt, so I got a decent meat thermometer. Less than $20 and you can be confident every time. To really get it rare, it's a bit of undercooking, which frightens me a bit
Unless the piece is quite large, it's often hard to build around a specific technic element, or imagine a function for it.
Well, I ordered and got the Seinfeld set, the Bad Batch set, the Maul duel, a white baseplate, and two small flower sets. A good haul. Hopefully delivery to my apartment goes smoothly.

Sounds good. I should invest in a meat thermometer. Oh yeah, it's a tricky in-between spot. Too little and it's undercooked, a little too much and it's medium.
Pretty much. Most of the odd Technic pieces seem to be for one specific mechanical application anyway.
That's a great haul, especially that Seinfeld set. Lots of neat little details. Sometimes apartment mailing systems can be a bit tricky.

If I got a thicker steak perhaps it would be easier. The store across the street always has thin pieces.
Unless you're very creative, I suppose. I always tried to think of clever applications as a kid, but could never come up with them.
Supposedly coming tomorrow, I'll believe it when I see it. It SHOULD end up in the mail room.

That would make sense, although the thicker pieces are also probably more expensive too.
Yep. I think most Technic pieces that are used outside their intended function end up as greebling for another creation. It's pretty tricky, and I think I couldn't think of those things either when I was younger.

Nice. Hopefully they have arrived by now.
Well, it also depends on the other dimensions of the steak, I think
Yes, I was thinking of that. People love their greebling. My favorite is still using pins for a thatched roof design.
Yup, they came yesterday afternoon. Soon I will be done with this Tumbler (finally) and can start on some brand new sets.

That's true. Maybe the smaller yet thicker steaks are easier to cook, but then it shrinks as you cook it.
Ah yes, I remember when we talked about the pins for a thatched roof design. One day I need to try that design and hold it together with some LEGO string.
That will be fun to do. Meanwhile, it seems LEGO is releasing a new Tumbler, in both UCS and regular toy size.

The more you overcook it, the smaller it gets, I think
If you put a lip under it, it would hold itself up without string. I guess it depends on how you wanted it to look, or if you wanted to be extra fancy with your angles.
Yes, quite the coincident for me, huh? I looked at the minifigs and they're not dreadfully exciting. Also, the new tumbler looks a lot more boring than the first one. Literally looks like a cheap knockoff of the original. Quite the cash grab. If the minifigs were super cool I'd consider getting it, but there's really no reason for me to bother with this one, since I have the original. I guess my wallet is grateful. Honestly the small new tumbler is cooler than the bigger one
Rapper was just a lie. It was a rank no one could achieve. You went from Disco Dude to Spaceman. That was it.
I'll always wonder if someone had the rank briefly when they were switching rank reqs around. Purposefully excluding it doesn't even make sense... if they thought it was a more offensive rank name... did they ever think about conquistador
I'm sure they didn't find it offensive, LEGO probably would have just emphasised that rapper meant Christian rapper.
That could have happened, honestly. I felt like sometimes I saw some stuff I shouldn't have seen because I was online when nobody other than a few mods were on a fair few times.

But why did it get avoided? You'd think they could've let us experience it like all the other ranks 25-29, since they went through the bother of changing the reqs multiple times anyway. I recall I saw some people rank down then rank back up in 2014. Never understood that one. Messing around with the algorithms?

As well as getting darker and darker until it catches fire.
That would work too. I guess I could build a very thin frame for it too so that it won't fall apart so easily.
That's fair. I'd assume the new Tumbler is for those who missed out on the earlier one, since that one was 7 years ago and since LEGO has been releasing UCS batvehicles for the past couple years. I do like that the smaller one is more sleek and has more smooth surfaces. I was hoping the new UCS Tumbler would have less studs showing, but I guess the old version is sufficient enough.
