Compared to a lot of my "top posters" contemporaries, I've always been pretty invested in LEGO. I must admit I didn't really follow new sets from like 2016-2020, but that was when I acquired a lot of old stuff, so it evens out.
That's pretty good. It's kind of similar with me as well. I didn't get much new LEGO in those years as well, but I was still pretty interested in LEGO.
I'm considering getting the Mos Eisley set, as my undergrad (finally) sent me a cash award I got for being one of the best math students, and the award covers the price of the set, speaking of new lego. I think it would be a good investment, too, with all those minifigs.
Hehe, it was nice seeing a lot of activity, which we hadn't seen too often.
I think the activity here has been slowly dropping off since then
Yep, pretty much. I remember being pretty invested in fun activities like the EBAs and newsletters here as well, but combined with college and the events of 2020, it was pretty draining to keep going with them.

Ooh, that's a great set. I didn't know you could get cash awards for being the best math student, especially if it allows you to afford the Mos Eisley set. I'm sure you'll enjoy building it.

I'm still waffling on it, though, the real appeal is the minifigures rather than the display value. I think a lot of other sets look cooler and I'm not entirely sure I want to drop a considerable sum on it. However, the child in me says yes.
But yes, I never knew I got a cash award until they told me I was getting one. Small perks of grinding away in all those classes I guess

Honestly I forget those were a thing as I'm only here because of the events of 2020

Ah, I see. LEGO has made a lot of fantastic sets recently, so it's very hard to pick, but I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose.
Very interesting. I wonder if my program had one, but even then I wouldn't have made it. Definitely well deserved for putting in the effort.

That's alright. I'm glad this place could be your haven away from 2020.

It's the choice that's the challenging part. I also need to build my UCS batman sets...
Apparently I almost won a calculus award freshman year too, but they concluded I was ineligible because I'd switched from engineering to arts and sciences.

True. I tend to pick the set that is the soonest towards ending production. At least there would still be time to pick up other sets that are newer. Ah, I remember you said you had the UCS Batmobile, right?
Wow. I didn't think being in a different discipline could affect your eligibility for a calculus award. I would've thought anyone who took Calculus classes would qualify.

I can never be certain when sets are ending production, I've ended up being disappointed too many times. And yes, I have the UCS Batmobile and Batwing, and will be getting the Tumbler from AP next weekend. I think the Tumbler is a little dilapidated so I'll have to repair that as well.
Apparently it was just for the engineers. Go figure, right?
