*The cataphracts urge their horses on, and swiftly move out of range and outpace their enemies, they press on to the Crossings of Poros and exit the region*
*the Infantry move on swiftly the archers returning fire with massive volleys directed at any enemy who fires on them, and then exit the region with losses*
*before they ride away, my troops fire on your cataphracts taking down around 75*
*The troops then focus on the pikemen, and archers, ducking behind cover as soon as they shoot their arrow.*
OOC: This will tire out your troops which will make them less effective at the poros, just FYI.
A few notes; first of all, MWE is not dependent on tiring. Troops don't get tired in this RP. Second of all, the Cataphracts have 1/4-1/2" steel plate armor, so most of your arrows would either be deflected or stopped. I'd put the casualty rate around 10-20.

Not entirely, but it does affect it. Yes they do. Than they would be to slow to out run my lightly armed troops. Plus even that couldn't stop a arrow from a longbow from close range, I also have AP javelins. So around 75 is pretty good.

It's not close range; they're galloping away rather quickly, after all. And no, that rule has never been passed or applied. And yes, unless it's a perfect shot (which, when shooting at a horseman, is very rare) it won't penetrate. You never mentioned javelins; they would cause your troops to reveal their positions more easily, given you have to stand up to throw one.

It is though. my archers fired be fore they galloped away. Oh really, but most experienced people here apply the practical rules of medieval warfare which includes troops getting tired. So while their may not be a rule about, tired troops fight worse than fresh troops. Taking down their horse would work pretty good too, since then they would be lonched out of their seat and would likely break their neck when they hit the ground. I did. Maybe, there is also cover for them to fire from.
8legos, when your companion gets shot you tend to hold your shield ready for battle
I'm just saying the S ithilian region is over 50 miles long and if you march at 3 MPH a average speed. it would take more than 16 hours, and I know I would get tired if I had to hold a 10+ pound shield at the ready for much more than 30 minuates.
So your rangers can run and stealth properly for 16 hours straight?
