"Hey, you didn't finish your--!" Finally realizing his mistake, he jumps up and runs after her, berating himself.
By the time he reaches the door, Maicyn is already gone. If he wants to find her, he'll have to try to guess which way she went.
"If I were Maicyn, where would I go...?" He decides upon the forest and heads there, now taking care to step quietly and to be unseen. He knew she wouldn't thank him for pestering her, but somehow he couldn't let go of the feeling that he shouldn't let her continue to sulk to herself.

Heading into the forest, Azril soon hears the crunching of leaves and branches up ahead.

He slows his pace and takes care to keep to the shadows cast by the trees. Years of hunting by himself have him instinctively step away from fallen twigs and leaves. He follows the sounds ahead of him.

He keeps silent for a few moments, thinking. Somehow, it feels wrong to simply let Maicyn to continue ostracizing herself from the world by her own thoughts. How exactly to heal old wounds, however, is another question.

The figure moves into a clearer patch and he can see it is indeed Maicyn. Her eyes are closed and she does not appear to have noticed him.

Azril takes a long, deep breath, then steps into a shaft of moonlight before her. He speaks quietly. "I know I'm not your favorite person right now, but if you just listen to me for a minute, I promise I won't bother you again."

OOC: That would be sunlight, actually, since breakfast just ended.
IC: When Azril appears, Maicyn immediately jumps into a combative stance, but she slowly relaxes as he speaks. She is quiet for a long time. "Not your fault, I guess. Just say what you have to say and go."

OOC: Oops. Dunno why I had a picture of a moonlit forest stuck in my head. ._.
IC: He hesitates before plunging in. "I know that you're sick of people looking at you like you're your aunt, like-- like they think you're going to end up like her, and they treat you harshly sometimes because of it. But..." An uncharacteristic note of resolve creeps into his voice. "You're not doing yourself or anyone else any favors by shutting out the world. If you want people to stop treating you like your aunt, then go out and prove that you're different! Train yourself, prove you can be a Rider, make people notice you--just stop sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. I did that once." Almost absentmindedly he rubs a little white scar peeking out from his sleeve. "It doesn't pay off very well."

As he leaves the forest, he finds Eldren Mystri there waiting for him. "Come on. It's time for archery practice."
He nods and follows Eldren to the archery field, unusually quiet.
While they begin their training, Eldren says, "I have been thinking about your training regimen. It is quite demanding, perhaps more than necessary at the moment. We started late today, so we'll go to lunch, and then you'll work with Zariana after that. In the future, we should start after breakfast as before. But I will recommend that you not begin your combat training until after lunch so that you may be free during the later part of the morning. Perhaps there is some worthwhile pursuit you may occupy yourself with then?"

"I guess so--I could certainly find one easily enough, I think."
